Hello Avatarist
I'm hyped for the movies coming in the future🥲
Hiiiii
Yes i hope the quality of future projects won't get lower
Hi!
They made the best show of all time in my not so humble opinion. It has inspired me for years.
Did you just say the best show of all time?

Hearing Bryan say they want to keep the 2D art form alive is so important to me. 3D’s great but there’s something truly special about that 2D hand drawn feel.
3d is great, and 2d is great, but 3d and 2d mixed together is... meh...

Bryan: We wanted to create something that has a shelf life
You did 20 years later we are still watching and loving every second of the Avatar Last Airbender
I rewatch it about once a year lol
These guys were WAY ahead of their time. I'm honored to have grown up with such an amazing universe and developed story.
What does that even mean
@@P0k3D0nd3M4cG ?
@@jupiterjav9809 being ahead of their time
@@P0k3D0nd3M4cG it means these guys had an idea that was really remarkable for the time (around 2005). There wasn’t anything like Avatar on children tv. They were some of the first to make a show this deep for kids
@@CreativeYetCrazy ahead of their time for western audiences, as he did say that this had existed in anime for long time
Thank you Bryke for making our childhood better with Avatar and thank you for still flaming that fire of fandom within us. ❤
So true i watch avatar i love it as a child i even wait for the time for it to show that memories oh how fun was that
As they say in the fire nation “stay flamin”

Hats off to whoever edited this. Finding so many hyper-specific moments and quotes from both shows that perfectly reinforce what Bryan was saying. Not only super impressive, but a reminder that this franchise is being handled by fans for fans.

The fact that even this video was so beautifully made!

I'm 30 too, I just realized that we've lived more of our life after it came out than we did before
Dude I was SO into the part where he talked about the backgrounds. I'm a bit of an urbanist and I just enjoy all kinds of architecture. What makes the Avatar universe so great isn't just the characters and storylines but also the LOCATIONS! From the menacing Egyptian and Chinese inspired Fire Nation Royal Palace to the breathtaking Northern Water Tribe, each location in the universe is unique in their own ways. Without locations, there wouldn't be a journey!
That being said, I don't blame him for wanting to take a break after working on LoK. You don't want to overdo it. We have to remember that we are humans and we have limits.
Yeah
They’ve pulled inspiration from all cultures. Avatar transcends the separations of our world to create an entirely unique experience that celebrates ALL of humanity.
@@AZ-697 Yeah
I think the inspiration for the Fire Nation architecture was mainly took from southeast asian cultures (vietnamese, thai, indonesian), rather than the egyptian one
@@lucasrh6910 it was explicitly stated by the creators that the Fire Nation Royal Palace is a combination of Egyptian, Chinese, and Japanese.
I recently rewatched all of Avatar and then gave Korra another chance. I always loved Avatar but Korra really positively surprised me this time around. I just had to sit myself down and stop being judgemental. I had a great time watching it! I loved the characters, loved the stories and the show got me to laugh, chuckle, roll my eyes and got me to tear bend. I'm actually sad there only are 4 seasons of Korra because I like the characters so much now
As a kid you just never know how special these shows were going to be, as I'm older I appreciate them so much for been there at the time. I remember first watching Atla in a hotel and from then on I loved it so much. Nickelodeon ran episode marathons and I would just sit and watch... this was true childhood, the essence of nostalgia, and peak time of television.
It was perhaps the last time Nickelodeon did something awesome. I remember watching the Jet episode in Vegas at the MGM Grand when I was celebrating my uncles birthday
AHHH that's so fun my first watch of ATLA was in a hotel room too!!! one of my earlier memories really hahaha I was 5
My 16yr old self kept watching this on nickeledeon in 2012 and my mom would say “Avatar again?!” I’m still hooked to this day😂
It's so exciting to hear about avatar Studios for the very first time, and hear them acknowledge arcane, studio ghibli etc and also mention how technology has changed not since the og avatar series but also since korra, and they will take advantage of these tech, I can't wait to see more!
I haven’t seen a Studio Ghibli movie since Secret World of Arrietty. I also seen Spirited Away, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Totoro
@@manuelorozco7760 check out Princess Mononoke, its their best work imo
Despite the hardships they’ve faced from the studio & criticism from fans the team received from some parts of Korra’s run. I *REEEEEALY* hope it doesn’t stop these guys from taking risks with their new project
I hope you guys don’t lose your nerve to push the envelope in every way you guys know how!!! Follow your heart, don’t play it too safe.
ehhhhhh. Sometimes it is best to just play it safe.
@@jellojiggler1693 safe art is boring
@@UnicorniousEyes Boring, like the entirety of Legend of Korra?
@@jellojiggler1693 Cry more, the majority of people like Legend of Korra. Even more now knowing what they know about stuff behind the scenes and what they still managed to do
@@mrPurplexedYT Where are you getting the idea that the "majority" of people like LoK? I only have my own experiences and interactions to go by, and from the majority of people I've spoken with, LoK is actually really bad, from multiple angels of creation (besides maybe the artwork). Go watch some videos that breakdown why and if that hasn't shifted you're thinking, than you're just a blind fanboy.
Oh, and what happens behind the scenes has absolutely nothing to do with how the quality of the show should be judged. Can you appreciate the hard work and determination, sure, but the final product should be judged on it's own merit. You don't give a student an A on their paper because they broke up with their boy/girlfriend or some other struggle "behind the scenes" if the quality of the paper doesn't reflect that grade.
Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra are, to this day, two of my favorite animated shows ever. I can’t wait to see what they create next!
This video is so exciting. With Korra there was little talk from the team, not much support from Nickelodeon (more pushback than anything), stressed out creators. With this full support from Nickelodeon. Bryan looks ready and happy for the next era. This is a sign of the glorious future of this series. Thank you Mike and Bryan you created my childhood and molded my life.
He is such a talented and hardworking person... Imagine putting your heart and soul into a project and striving for nothing less than perfection during the production of each project... The pressure of keeping the production in budget and making it spectacular at the same time... Huge respect to this legend... The break after Korra was much needed... A man needs his rest.. just like the way Iroh said to Zuko on the raft
A literal legend. Animation like Avatar helped me escape my rough childhood with violence. This show really made think about trauma at a young age. Plus Appa is the cutest bison ever.
Listening to Bryan's philosophy on art, and his reaction to Arcane, gives me hope, cuz I've been so afraid that the future of the Avatar world might end up looking like LEGO friends if too much outside influence prevails. Fingers and toes crossed that while pulling Avatar into the future, a stylistic continuity can be achieved, so everything feels cohesive. Very excited for what's to come.
Agreed. Hopefully they take a lot of inspiration from Arcane.
What an awesome interview!!! Avatar is still my favorite show ever since I saw it air as a kid. Nothing has inspired me more. I can’t wait to see what Avatar Studios is creating!
Looking forward to the Avatar universe continuing. My childhood self is longing for it. I know it’s gonna be amazing. My favorite show of all time
Yeah
When Avatar came back to Netflix, getting reacquainted with Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph and Zuko kept me semi stable during the lockdown
@@manuelorozco7760 yess me too. Like seeing old friends again
@@BradPwnsU Which I’m pretty sure the world needed three years ago. But the struggle between peace and oppression is perhaps even more relevant now than it was in the mid 2000’s when we grew up in a post 9/11 world.
Agreed
Love love LOVE that Bryan mentions Arcane. That is the only show since Avatar that I've found to be nearly as well directed from an art standpoint.
I love how proud they are of Korra even if its not as loved as the original. It shows they truly value their work
oh it’s loved, a lot of people love korra
if they valued it they would try harder to capture the magic of the original that was missing in korra.

Hearing the creator of my favorite show talk about and show respect to my second favorite animated show is great
Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are my personal favorite fantasy stories of all time. I love the animation, the story, the characters, the worldbuilding, everything. I’m super excited for the future of Avatar Studios 💧☄️🔥🌪

Comment is underrated
Dear Bryan, as I sit here watching this interview, I am crying, I am not an artist, I've never have been, but I've dreamed all my life, and as off 8 days ago, I took the decition to become a writer. You are one of my biggest inspirations, and watching this makes me hope to one day meet you, makes me hope to one day see my stories come to life, to one day reach that place where I can call myself a writer. When I watched ATLA for the very first time, it changed my life. Thank you so much for realizing your vision, thank you so much for taking that opportunity when there was no indication that it would work. Thank you for giving my life meaning. I hope this message reaches you, and I hope that fuel rubs off on me. You have all my admiration and all my respect.
You got this Omar!

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that we are ready and ridiculously excited to go on this journey with you. I cannot wait to see what is to come and am so thankful that you folks are creating Avatar again.
I kid you not I’ve watched this series on repeat my whole life, finish it and start it again probably about a week or so later
I cant thank the creators of ATLA enough for the beautiful story they have created. Looking forward to the next masterpiece!
I love that he mentioned Arcane! Such an amazing show and animation! So looking forward to the new Avatar series and artworks 😭✨🤍
Words cannot describe how excited I am for the third Avatar series, bring on the earthbender!!
I’ve waiting for this moment for years. A new era for the Avatar, and the next step in building this incredible world. I have absolute faith in Bryan and Mike. The shows, comics and books have all been created with such love and respect for both the story and the fans, and I am excited to find out the next chapter in this wonderful story. Bryan, Mike, thank you for everything you’ve done and everything you continue to do for Avatar.
I could watch this interview over and over. Bryan and Mike are so inspiring. Every time I get a chance to hear from them I feel my own creativity flow. Bryan’s balance of life and work is something I strive for.
Also, whoever directed this interview did an amazing job. I love the candid shots of Bryan mixed in with the BTS reel. ❤
I do miss his old hair though.

When Bryan talked about them wanting to create a show that had a shelf life I got really happy, because they’ve obviously succeeded in that front!
"We wanted to create something with a shelf life."
Oh, Bryan. It became so much more.
I dont care if people say korra is bad, i want it, i want it
I think the only people I have known to dislike Korra, never actually watched it and just made a judgement based on that last episode where it is implied that K&A get together
@@leanie2972 nah! it's bad. i've watched 6 times but it is entertaining i can give you that. Korra as character is so unlikable besides there's a lot of bad writing in that show.

This show was so important to my childhood, and all these years later is still one of the best things I’ve ever seen. Cannot wait for more
Thanks Brian and Michael for your work. we all incredibly love this world, invented by you❤️
Crazy this guy is responsible for one of the greatest fantasy universes that’s up there with Star Wars and LOTR.
Legend.. this shows legacy will be known by my children and my children’s children. Masterpiece, not just for cartoons or anime, in every way, in every form of artistic expression. I’ve laughed, cried, cheered.. thank you

May the legends of Avatar live on for many new generations! 😃
He seems like a very honest and thoughtful person. I appreciate his perspectives
Still my favorite show/franchise to this day. It's my childhood and even more enjoyable now. Flawless series
Everytime I hear, not just Bryan or Michael, but anyone who's a part of Avatar studios talk about the franchise and what it means to them, im floored that we got so lucky. The amount of love and thoughtfulness is present in every frame and line and im so excited to see what they make now that they have even less interference from execs.
Thank you Avatar Studios for making some of the most impactful stories of the last 20 years that have undoubtedly made the world a better place, even if it's just a little bit in the grand scheme of it all. You rock! 🧡💙💚❤
I’m so hyped for this!!! Let’s hope they bring back the original voices too
Just thinking about Avatar no matter the age, has put me on the verge of tears. My love for what you guys have made transcends feelings. I'm not a fan, I'm a diehard follower to the end. Thank you for existing Mike and Bryan and Aaron and everyone who's made the most beautiful animated work the world has witnessed
I watched the Avatar final season with two of my sons who were 6 and 4 at the time. Every time there was a new episode I would come home from work with the two of them jumping up and down with excitement. We would talk about what we thought would happen and then watch the new show with our dinners all set up in the living room. I remember the reveal in the Avatar and the Fire lord episode where we all ran around the living room wooping it up. We all watched it again on video from the store when my 3rd son was old enough and it did not lose anything.
Avatar is the best series I've got to see in my entire life. No other series influenced me so much or crossed paths with me so many times than Avatar! It is just a masterpiece from the story to the music to the arts. I cannot describe in words what this series means for me and I am so thrilled that after all these years there will be new Avatar content. Much love for the creators!❤💦🪨🔥💨
I’m so excited
I got sucked into this universe and I never want to leave
Some of these clips still bring tears to my eyes. What a fantastic saga.
This guy is great I could listen to him talk about his creation for hours.
I rewatched the original avatar series last year and even though I remembered some key plot points, it still felt fresh and fun and the show hooked me just the same as it did back when it started when I was 8 years old.
This makes me glad to hear him happy and I can’t wait to see what he creates! Knowing my own age, I hope he can find artists that have a deep passion for the world. He captivated my heart with his creativity when I was a middle schooler and I respected him as he made Korra with the constraints he implied. Few things will activate my nostalgia like.. “Water.. earth..fire.. air.”
I grew up with the ATLA franchise, and now I get to see the franchise grow with me. Beyond excited to see everything the team has come up with! ❤️
Taking inspiration from anime but creating their own heartfelt, authentic animation and story - this is what makes Avatar and Korra special shows, that bleedover between East and West! Having their own studio dedicated to telling stories in this world is just perfect. So glad to hear both original co-creators are continuing their creative endeavours in this wonderful universe and I cannot wait for that first film!
Avatar shaped me and means a LOT to me, even now. Only thing I want from them is the final Air season.
Hyyyype
I hope Korra also gets the love it deserves
i respect this man
Can’t wait for what’s next to come!!
I was in my late 30’s when ATLA came out. I had to watch it because my kids, who were geographically separated from me at the time, would watch it and I was wondering what all they were watching. It couldn’t have been a better investment of my time. Fast forward 20 years and I’m looking at 60 here in a few years. I’m excited for what the future is that these wonderful people are bringing to us. I spent time in Asia and love all of the influences this shared universe has. Thanks for bringing it to the world.
Tomense el tiempo necesario para hacer lo que viene tan bello como lo que ya nos han entregado con las dos anteriores series.
I cannot WAIT for this movie and future projects. ATLA is really a gem from my childhood, I think one of if not the best kids show of all time, and maybe even one of the best of all time period.
I hope one day I find myself able to work on the Avatarverse alongside Mike, Bryan, and their whole team. What a dream job
Avatar is my favorite show. I try to watch it at least once a year. Please don't rush through the projects! I'm so excited to see what y'all produce!

Ahhh this interview was so heartwelming to watch! So excited to see what's more to come!
I find it really cool to see the clips of your work reflect what you experienced on your journey and how much of it is actually seen in Legends of Korra.
After all these years, I can't believe the universe is finally expanding and also telling more stories in the timelines we know of. Super excited for everything done by this studio as well as Netflix!
