Bruh when I was listening to the podcast on Spotify I LITERALLY could not hear the "Aang" in Zach's voice, to the point where I was like, "There's no way this is Aang." He doesn't even sound like an older Aang in my opinion, but if they were to bring him on to voice an older Aang I WOULD NOT be mad.
bro when i heard zach’s voice i was like: HOW THE HECK IS THIS AANG-
I think she sound exactly like Korra
Lol right
Everyone saying that Zach doesn't sound like Aang, but there is a nostalgia I've never felt before seeing and hearing him talk
And besides he can kinda change his voice to sound like Aang.
Also I love your vids. ;)
@@craigforsyth4588 well not necessarily because he was literally 12 years old when he voiced aang in the original series.
Yeah I don't hear it at all
He sounds like a deeper version of Aang. His accent and intonation is the exact same.
I’d really like to now see Zack voice his character being in his 20’s-30’s. I wonder how he’d portray him at this point
@Zach D oh definitely, it’s bittersweet. And yet you have to wonder if for the right story, he’d do one last hurrah
@Zach D it's bittersweet, but I'm glad he found what works for him. Just listening to him talk about what he does, you can tell he loves it.
@@Beyondthe5thPanel Since voice acting is more flexible, I'm sure that if they did a great story with older Aang they might have a shot at convincing him to return. It worked for Sean Connery twice when he repeatedly said he was done acting (first for a video game and then for an animated short). I'm sure they would just need the right pitch.
I second this!!
@Zach D He said it's not impossible that he'd come back given the right situation. We can hope :)

@@littlemissfox5606 At what mark did he say that so I can hear?
Aang's lie at the end of The Great Divide was really the best decision he could've made to bring the two tribes together. He did the right thing.
Agreed, it just would’ve been better for many had he been more heroic in telling them the truth.
@@drfifteenmd7561 I agree that the white lie was the only way - however, I feel it would have suited his character much more if the act of lying made him feel terrible instead of smug (like how he felt in Bato of the Water Tribe)... you know? The lie was clever and, in this case, necessary... but _still._
It was nice to see Aang actually do something off-brand for once. Worked in the context, too.
@@IcyLucario he’s an air bender. Him lying to avoid major conflict is the most on-brand thing he could’ve done
It was also a clever decision by the writers so that they can dismiss all the lore they just made up, since they consider this one of the lesser episodes in the series.
If they ever adapt the the story between TLA and LOK, I can still picture him as Aang’s teenage voice.
That will be great if they do that I personally would love for them to animate Zuko and Azula's journey in finding their mother. Zuko especially deserves that dream to be realised
I’d love that. But he doesn’t want to voice act anymore
Same 😂
It’s so nice to see Zach coming back to the community. I would love to see him do stuff with the comics or even future shows and movies. Voicing older Aang would be awesome.
Like maybe a 15-early 20s Aang.
@@davidtimmer596Or an early 30s Aang, like how much of the cast were approximately the same age as their characters.
When Dante said none of Korra's gang was posh and from money, and I'm over here like "Is Asami a joke to you????"
Korra was the rightful heir of the North Tribe but she has to settle as the rightful heir to the Southern Water Tribe if she had not been the Avatar.
After 100 years of hiding from the fire nation finally,
THE AVATAR HAS RETURNED
I was looking for this joke! Lol
It’s super uncanny that Zach sounds really similar to voice actor that portrayed an older Aang in Korra. Despite the fact that the creators couldn’t have possibly known what he would sound like older, it’s actually pretty spot on.
Boy what I would give for Zach to come back as Aang for a future project
I don't know, I can't see it, the 40 year old Aang and old man Aang was perfect. So I wouldn't want them to change those voices and I can't hear him voicing Aang as a teenager either

Gosh seeing Zach again after all these years and interacting with the cast gives me such a huge smile.
Dante to Janet: "The OG's are rich kids... your crew is messed up." Sounds about right. 🤣
I mean, he.wasn't right... not at all. haha
Aang was never rich, but he did have a venerable title - from which he suffered.

Zuko - wealth

He saves the ATLA cast dozens of times and is the only reason they are all alive.
I love it when they don’t brush Appa aside. I think he’s a very important character in the series 😍🥺
i feel so sad that janet feels like she has to apologize for tlok not being like atla. korra is great in its own way and means a lot to a lot of people, it’s sad that it’s been so many years and people still feel the need to aggressively compare the shows
I feel that, people in fandoms are so eager to tear anything other than “the originals” to shreds.
I remember when tlok aired, I watched and did like season 1, watched like an episode of season 2 before I went “meh” and from there I loosely followed the show from clips here and there on UA-cam.
I don’t dislike Korra, and I’m actually eager to start watching it again as I just finished my probably 8th rewatch of atla a week or two ago
Agreed, and I think people forget each avatar isn't meant to be the same. And that change is inevitable, so people should learn to accept that. I personally really enjoyed korra and aang. Both for their differences. 💗
Yeah, that just breaks my heart! Janet has always seemed like such a sweet, kind-hearted person who has a genuine love of the fans and the Avatar franchise. I may not agree with a lot of the decisions made in Korra, but I did like Korra as a character especially for just how different she was from Aang, and I love Janet as an actress and for all she does for the fandom.
I love BOTH shows! They're both amazing in their own way for sure!! I'm sorry for the people who don't see it!
Couldn't get into LOK. Can't apologize.
I grew up with this show, I can’t tell you how many times I still rewatch the show and it NEVER gets old. I love the avatar and I don’t think there will ever be another show like this again.
I love that everyone even the people involved with the show can go back and still see great things in it

My turn to rewatch
Fun fact about Momo: Momo was named that because at the end of the episode where he makes his first appearance, he stole Sokka’s peach and started eating it. Momo is Japanese for “peach”!
Here’s an unpopular stance: I disagree with the fan base on the episodes where Aang lies.
One interesting thing about both these episodes is that they are negatively viewed in their entirety, The Great Divide and Bato are often seen as the worst episodes in the shows run. And I’m not arguing they are the best, but they do have some great and easily missable gems in them and character moments for Aang.
What’s funny is that the lie about him mastering the Avatar State in The Crossroads of Destiny is quickly forgotten as the episode is jam packed with so much that by the time Aang does open up his final Chakra, we almost forget that he lied. Yes he technically was able to master it by the end, but we know if he had total control going into the episode, it would have ended differently.
Also, most of the fan base loves Azula and Zuko and both those characters are more willing to lie to protect themselves or to get what they want. I know Aang is looked at in a positive light, but he’s not some perfect or pure being. He ran away which is the crux of his whole character arc and literally his absence is felt in the 100 years he is gone.
I guess I personally feel that while I would not view Aang the same way I do now if he lied as much as Azula, having him capable and actually go off and lie in certain moments actually makes him feel human like he actually can have things get through his outgoing and positive exterior.
Some kids lie, big deal
What made The Divide even worse was the constant reruns
even you're forgetting some of aang's lies. for example, we start the show with aang meeting katara, and then lying to her about not knowing what happened to the avatar. despite voicing the character, zach's totally wrong about it being unusual. aang lies, a lot. he doesn't place a lot of value in telling the truth. most often, it's to avoid conversations he doesn't want to have. i feel like it's a verbal equivalent to his tendency to run away from fights. i think it is a very humanizing flaw for a hero who rarely feels like he's in any physical danger.
Zach really did just say that there is no Zutara in ba sing se
Glad that the characters actually enjoy the show and they're not just saying lines it makes me happy that they're interested in the work that they make
_Notify the fandom, the Avatar has returned!_

Hearing Zuko say “mo money!!” has been life changing😂
One of the biggest impacts of my childhood, forsure.
I love rewatching this series even in my 20s. Thanks for making a masterpiece.
Zukos voice actor is so awesome. He plays Zuko in ATLA and Iroh II from TLOK. I feel like he should have had more screen time.
For any of those that hate Korra, It's her VA doing all the work with podcast, and before that was with the turfwars live read, that was Janet pushing avatar out.
Just ‘cause someone’s got beef with the character or the show (like me) doesn’t mean that hating the voice actor is permissible.
I loved recognizing Zach's voice when listening to my son watch My Neighbor Totoro. For those that don't know he was the english casted voice for Kanta. (perfect fit as he even made similar childish faces to Aang in the movie)
Do you think that My Neighbor Totoro does a better job with Animated Sisters than Frozen????????
@@orangeslash1667 I think the sisters relationships are much less integral to frozens story and more used as almost a plot device to move the story forward for both characters simultaneously as both characters are finding their independence. For example, let it go is a song very much about Elsa’s individual growth completely separate from her sister. Anna is needing to shake her dependence on Elsa and to find her own journey. Mei and Satsuki have a wonderful relationship and they need to for the story, their mother is ill and all they have is their fathers somewhat empty feeling words of reassurance and doctors notes. This circumstance rather than leading them to independence leads them to band together in that shared struggle. Oh and Totoro obviously helped a lot too 😊

Aang means a lot to me as a character so this is really cool. It'd be awesome to see Zach in more AtLA-related projects (whether scripted works or irl like this) in the future.
"The Great Divide" lie was so masterful partly because it could have happened. And Aang did look kinda proud of having solved the issue in such a cunning and non violent way.
