@Deco Electra That already exists. There are loads of tracks on UA-cam with him singing, and full instrumentation. It's also not about not wanting to hear singing... I don't want to hear other instruments either. I simply want to hear Johnny on guitar, playing Smiths songs and whatever else. He is a guitar God, after all. These little snippets he does are excruciating... because they just tease me, and I don't get to hear the whole song.
@@davidgriffiths2924 Because that's how I feel about it, and apparently, from the conversations I have online, a lot of people feel that way. Just absolutely beautiful. Johnny Marr is such an overlooked guitarist. Clean and crisp, nothing too flashy, he just plays catchy riffs in the most effortlessly rhythmic way.
This is pretty crazy... it's almost like a classical music approach, full blown arranged chords with underlying implied melody, with power and open voicings that don't sound the slightest bit amateurish... Masterful.

I've watched this many times.. Great song regardless, but Johnny Marr also demonstrates what a cleverly constructed melody it is. Alternate tuned, great movement with the chords and spectacular rhythm throughout, totally natural and unforced. Works equally well as an instrumental piece. Fabulous.

We need to start a petition for Johnny to do an album of just acoustic solos of Smiths songs, with no singing or instruments.
