'Nobody thought it was any good until the vocals went down' is a bit of an inadvertent admission....without those lyrics, there's no fairy dust. And what is the point of him playing the guitar intro to the fanboys? What does it illustrate? Just boys and their toys.

This reminds of the Family Guy where Peter has to stop himself looking intensely at the drummer in his band, when he's so into the music, in case it's mis-read as sexual.
