The best Kobun review on UA-cam. Thanks. I just love this knife. Purchased one and gave it away as a gift. Regrets! Purchased another one a few years ago. I won’t be giving this one away. My kids can decide what to do with it when I don;t need it anymore after my earthly departure.

Great video,, I think I'll get one of these, because I don't like the Scandi grind of the Mora's, and this seems similar, in purpose,, (light and cheap,, !! ) and it's a bit longer too,!!.. Mora's always feel a bit short in the blade length to me,,
All the best from across the pond,, John..

I carry a serrated Kobun in my my left front pocket EDC as a "get off me" blade. I swapped the original clip for a small Ulti-Clip. It is a perfect match to the knife. Highly recommend the ulti-clip.

The kobun is a boot knife brother, my boot knife of choice the past 5 years actually. It fits perfect on the inside of any set of cowboy boots, that's why the clip appears backwards.

The Cold Steel Kobun is a good knife. I have one coming from Smoky Mountain Knife Works. It is the one with the stainless steel clip on the back for boot carry. The kissaki (point tip) and yokote (secondary tip where the kissaki and the ha (blade) meet) work well with this knife. In fact, the points of this knife came from a 6th century Japanese sword called the chokuto. This sword predated the Katana. Anyway, good review video!

    Deepest respect sir !
You and DBad have some of the best videos !
Somehow you're completing each other !
Those Tanto blades are pretty darn good ones ! Scary sharp and very sturdy tips - made especially for penetrating tough stuff ...
    That's a great tactical knife ...
I carry one foldable XL Voyager serrated Tanto knife in my pocket every time I go into the woods with my family ...
(Along with a Marauder serrated on my back.. just in case ...)
All the best and God Bless !

Watching older videos of your that pop up on the home page brother. This caught my eye cause CS and I have a Kobun myself. Love it. My sheath unfortunately was subpar in that it had zero retention. I really need to heat gun it but just laziness I guess. Go with bigfoot rather than zombie. PS Bigfoots are not Sasquatches, so you have my permission! Ha! Great demo and you used it like it should be used.

I'm a big fan of the Cold Steel Tanto type blades. Because a (I think) Master Tanto in San Mai, thinking about a 7 inch blade. This was my favorite knife and I loved it so much, I bought a second one.
Some day I will have another Cold Steel Tanto.
Why not a Kobun? I have good experiences with the Cold Steel buget knifes.
Today my Drop Forged Survivalist arrived. Wow, what a knife! The handle could be a little bit longer, I have to check the knife with gloves on.
I like the shape of the blade, the guard and the overall knife a lot, don't have to tell you that it came razor sharp out of the box. The balance point is directly in front of the guard, maybe this is why the handle is quite short.
Tomorrow I have some time. I'll go to the forrest and do some knife stuff.
Today I can't, my older son celebrates his 27th Birthday. This is better than knife stuff, believe me.
After they loosened Covid restrictions a bit, we'll have some beer in one of the old beer gardens or beer cellars, as you like to call them, we have in our hometown. The weather is wonderful, so we'll have a great evening.

Even the "budget" blades such as Outdoorsmen Lite - which is not a "super steel" ... I cut papers till I got bored ...
Should I mention Leatherrneck Tanto ? That's indeed freakin sharp ... Probably would pierce through a car doors just for fun ...
