I enjoyed your enthusiasm. You seem like a kool kat BUT there's no way you can enjoy the song and feel the flow with all the talking/stopping/starting. A little bit less during the song and an indpeth analysis afterwards would be great but other than that keep on keeping on!

Check out their song *"Foreclosure of a dream".* It's song lyrics was mainly written by bass player David Ellefson, whose family ran a farm in Hartland, Minnesota, but lost it to foreclosure. Ellefson blamed the policies of President Ronald Reagan for allowing the agricultural corporations to drive family farms out of business.
"It was speaking specifically about the hardships that the farmers were having, that started when I left home in 1983 when I went to California," Ellefson said in his Songfacts interview. "It was a three-year time when we saw Farm Aid and really the implosion of the farming community that was largely based on Ronald Reagan's policies. It was the Cold War during the Ronald Reagan era - I believe there were sanctions against Russia where we stopped shipping grain over to Russia, which caused this surplus, which of course caused prices to crash and farmland to decrease in value."
This song has a very specific inspiration, but according to Ellefson, it can apply to anyone whose dreams are shattered by economic hardship, especially when it's due to political intervention. When the song was released, America was in the midst of recession and many people were struggling. Thus, Foreclosure of a dream, I believe ;-)

Track 1 on what is one of the greatest metal albums ever recorded. just sublime song writing and musicianship. 2nd half of the song is based on the Punisher character.
As a kid, I was a metalhead, and Megadeth was my fav. I progressed to listening to and performing more progressive rock, and then progressed to orchestral/classical music. That said, Megadeth is still probably my most influential music composers/performers of all time, possibly except Beethoven; if I ever had the chance to meet Dave, the other Dave, or especially Marty, I would just love to shake their hand and thank them for the joy they brought to my teenage years, which is a difficult time for everyone. Other notes:
-I love most styles of music, and at the minimum appreciate all forms of music. Something that is unique to Megadeth, though, is that they are the only music group that I have seen people listen to, sitting perfectly still, and start to sweat. That said...
-...you should check out Vin and Sori's reaction to this - she has an actual "O" moment during the same solo that left you pretty quiet. Further...

Anthrax - A Skeleton in the Closet. The band members are huge fans of Stephen King and did a few songs based on his stories. This is one from a story called Apt Pupil (later made into a movie of the same name) where a kid discovers his neighbor used to be an SS officer in Hitler's Germany and becomes dangerously obsessed with the mindset. In the second part of this song when he says "wage a war on organized crime, sneak attacks repel down the rocks behind the lines" That's when the song sort of switches gears and is about the punisher (comic book character)

But they all had creative motives for the sound of the band, and he "had to leave" (Lars, james and Dave did not work well together)

This singer was Metallica's lead guitarist on their debut album Kill em All. There were alcohol issues and he was booted. He decided to start a band that was faster harder than Metallica. That's a brief history on the origin of Megadeth.
