Amazing band live. One of the best I have ever heard. They just had the bad luck of getting their break too late. Their albums didn't come out until the 90's. They started to get a lot of MTV exposure, then grunge came on the seen. Had they put albums out a few years earlier, they may have been a huge A list band. Luckily, grunge didn't take hold in Asia and Europe the way it did in the US. They were still able to tour overseas and had a lot of success in Japan, where this video was filmed.

I also got to see them in 91 and they were perfect! Too bad it was the end of the metal era as I knew it from the 80s. 🤘🤘

Japanese people have always loved the 80’s hard/glam melodic rock! Just about every hair metal band has performed in Japan since the 80’s and some are still going strong today overseas! YES, this performance is 100% legit live and you can tell by all the impromptu guitar solos by Bill Leverty who is an amazing guitar player - so underrated!!!

I used to go see them play clubs in Charlotte NC when they were called White Heat. Late 80's.

The lead singer's name is CJ Snare. They were big enough to tour the world, in fact, they were more popular in Japan than the States. They are still touring, and an awesome band live. Take a listen to Overnight Sensation as a studio track. That song is a better listen on the album than live. They have so many other great songs like Reach For the Sky, Hold Your Fire, Oughta Be a Law.

Firehouse had a very full, balanced sound and had everything going for them to make it big.... well except time. They launched when this particular genre was winding down (as well as the funding for it) and grunge was taking over the rock scene. Nice to see that the Firehouse bass player Perry Richardson is still performing and is now the bass player for the band Stryper.

The one thing I love about at least all she wrote was even the live version. He’s stuck to singing it and they played it pretty much to the tea just like the album version which I absolutely love.

This is the first time I heard them live and they’re incredible. They sound almost exactly like the studio recording, only I think even better, since they add a little greatness. Their guitarist is a lot better than I thought. I would put him in Reb Beach & George Lynch’s league.

You need to react to some King Kobra. The best live concert I ever saw and I saw plenty. Dancing With Desire is really unique and cool. Ready To Strike is awesome. This band was started by drummer Carmine Appice after Sharon kicked him out of Ozzy’s band because he was bigger than Ozzy at the time. 🙂

I had this on VHS back in the day. Live in Japan, plus interviews with the band between the songs. Awesome live sound. They are cool guys with a fun sense of humor. In one scene guitarist Bill Leverty is at a pizza shop helping with the dough while his bandmates give him a hard time.

Definately, check out the studio album! I was in a band & working at record store when the promo came out. Blown! Excellent classical guitar intro TO overnightsensstion...that kinda...sets it up! They also did in concert. But like you, we had the CD for several months...and they actually DID stop in OKC on the tour. We highly doubted they would duplicate let alone BEST the produced album. They DEFINITELY DID and even more! Listen to the album! They rip!

This is one of the bands that I really did not want to like because I was so sick of hearing their ballad “Love of A Lifetime” after it was released and played ad-nauseam on radio and MTV at the time. They happened to be on a concert bill with 2 other bands that I had wanted to see and after seeing them live I was thoroughly impressed and a fan afterward. --And to answer the question you posed in the reaction video--Yes, they do sound this good live!

They were one of the later hairbands in 1990. By 1992, this kind of music died a horrible death, when Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam took over the rock world. I'm nostalgic for this kind of stuff now, but by 1990, I was jumping on the Seattle bandwagon, and started to hate this stuff lol

  • @BretPetito-rm6pj

Cool...reacting to them! I did see them live back in the day. They are the real deal!!! They shredded OKC! Blew their backup band Warrant off the stage...after Warrant being ....unkind. I agree...these Japan videos are so good...seems fake. NOT! Same in okc & we had backstage passes even. I went with fellow musicians I was in a Christian metal band with.

Firehouse had 2 phenomenal albums. They did try to straddle the line between metal & pop...it don't treat me ...ugh. So their fan base was quite divided. THEN grunge hit. But they did tour alot...okc...japan...they were huge....then they even had some pop success...then...grunge.

LOL, bands could be HUGE in Japan and have limited success in the US and UK. The asian market was all about this music and never got into grunge so a lot of bands were able to put out a few albums that only sold in Japan to avoid going the 9-5 job route.
