As Always, great content. Love your channel. Quick question, I see that SquareGolf have come out with a connector for GSPro. Do you know if there are any costs associated with using that connector. Their software is basically 18 credits used per round, so I was just wondering if they are doing the same for each round of golf using the connector. Also, for the golf balls, do they compare to the Rapsodo MLM2Pro golf balls in quality. I can get about 4 months of use from a dozen of those. Just looking to see if this unit would be a better upgrade from the MLM2Pro unit that I currently have. Any feedback you could give would be greatly appreciated.
No one seems to have tested the club data accuracy yet compared to the really expensive units. This is something that is important for improving your golf. Hopefully you will get a chance to compare it soon. Especially with the most recent firmware updates.
Great vid mate. Been waiting for these. Not too many times i'm going to need to chip 2ft. Can't wait to see shot shape vs protee, driver with high swing speed, putting vs exputt and swing stick. Saw a guy on facebook creating his own 3d printed version of the handle to get better results
Love it, great test, I'm waiting for the driver over 110 club head speed. This is just the first update too wait till they get it working 100%. It's so fast on pick up, just played your tournament with this it's amazing with short chips and putting is next level and I've been told the cameras in this device are cheap, what happens if they put top cameras in it, SQUARE MARK2, can't wait.
That looks like a pretty cool system. I agree with you about the marked-ball stuff. One thing I found very innovative was the alignment stick. It's something I wish the EML had. I hit a problem with the EML if the alignment was a degree off, and that is it would read in the erroneous add on HLA and interpret it as an increased side spin. It was driving me nuts as I would see these 10 degree skews either right or left (dependent on the mis-allignment angle) in the ball scatter diagrams and the longer the flight the worst you saw the spin. Finally settled all his with with a laser line (cross) projection tool and a square.
Can you do a test of different types of marked balls with the Square unit? Like RPT balls or just Pix/Truvis type balls or stickers, I know those can work well with various vision based launch monitors. I use the Chromesoft X RPT balls with a Uneekor QED at a indoor golf place and those work near perfectly and are better than the cheap Uneekor balls and the Chromesofts are the balls I use. If that RPT ball can work well with the Square that would be amazing, I would get one.
Thanks Joe, I'm looking forward to the rest of your review videos on this device. It looks like excellent value. Any chance you could talk to your contacts about the future availability of buying the dot pattern to add to other golf balls like you do with the mlm2pro?
Thanks for getting this out. Will you be doing a video with the swing stick. I don’t have the space for a sim, but if the swing stick is good. It might be a decent option
Thanks mate I'm not too sure I wouldn't count on it. They have called it an indoor unit so I doubt they will do that. I'll have to test but potentially you could use it outside in darker conditions it would struggle in bright sunlight I'm guessing. The other issue is you would still need to use the marked balls. So if you're hitting in to a net then there's a chance
I was so close to buying a Mini Lite but then this one popped up. For 1/4 of the price, this one seems almost too good be true. Very very interested where it will fall short in your upcoming tests. Thank you for all of these!
Same thing happened to me, I actually had an eye mini lite on order, but cancelled it as soon as I saw evidence of it working with gspro. To me, consistency, for virtual golf is more important than accuracy. I’ve learned from my Mevo+ that I swing differently indoors than outdoors. If my indoor 100 yard swing always reads as 100 yards I’m a happy camper. I don’t care that it’s really 105 yards in the real world
I have narrowed my launch monitors choices down between the square and eye mini lite. If I am looking to practice and improve my game, is the eye mini lite really worth the extra money or would this work?
To me it depends on what your trying to work on, the uneekors app is fantastic for using cameras if your working on swing changes. Also I haven’t haven’t watched many club data tests with squared so if your working on swing path and angle of attack, uneekor might be the way to go. If you just want to dial carry numbers on the clubs that matter then Squared looks to be the way to go!
@grindano thanks for the reply. That makes sense. I think the 2nd option would better suit me. Knowing my distances and just hitting a lot of balls will help me more than knowing the exact degree at which my club is at.
Nice Video. May I please get a link to the square/gspro connector please. I am going to get the square now that i have seen it working well with gspro. 😀
Great review! Only thing missing from most of the reviews ive seen on the Square is driving performance. Have you done a review on how the Square handles drives?
At the moment there are no resellers in Aus. I'm speaking with Bayside Golf as Sam is considering stocking it. At the moment you need to order from the Square Golf UK website and get it imported
Great question! They are struggling to keep up with sales nowas it is.. you have to pre order at the moment through the UK website. I don't know to be honest but I'm sure they have that planned. The US would be their biggest market
@@JoeyVaracalliIf you are only going to use it indoors and don't need to use it outside then it's definitely a good option! There are some mis reads I've been seeing with full shots so right not it isn't going to be as accurate at the mlm2pro in my opinion but it's only just been released to fingers crossed these can be fixed
no credits used, no extra fees beyond the gspro. I believe the people who use the credit based system will be more casual/occasional users and it will be perfect for them. Plus who knows how much the square software and courses will advance.
Exactly! That's what I really tried to stress in my first impressions video. And also what I'm going to stress in my full review. Very impressed with this little unit so far.

Do the under 3 feet shots register in square software? Maybe issue with connector?
Hey Joe. Amazing as always. Rapsodo ball dots now has the dots for the square. Be great to see how they work. Thanks!!
Check out my Instagram 👍👍 already have some balls dotted up! Ready to go lol 😆
Putting mode on short chip shots works well during game play on gspro if you change the club to putter.

Well done Joe, can’t wait to see how this budget LM does with driver swings now
Also is there a way to get a different ball type with the circles?

Joe thanks for the video really enjoyed did, looking forward to you matching it up with one of your other monitors to see its accuracy

Absolutely mate the swing stick will get a stand alone video and I'll go through everything, 👍👍

It's on the square website

I'll have a video out in the next week 🤞🤞 I played a round on GS Pro and didn't see anything that was out with driver tbh.

Have you tried using your gamer ball vs that ball
great review thank you!

@@JLagGOLF do you think this is an upgrade from the mlm2pro I was thinking to get it for my gspro setup since it has putting?

Does this register putts from off the green?
In my testing the normal range goes down to 5mph ball speed. Putting mode goes down to 1.5mph.
Needs putting mode for very short chips.
Joe maybe try testing the actual software from square with the 2ft chips , could be a software limitation
Was this in gspro?
Dose it import the club data into GSpro?
Yes! You need the club stickers on though with I didn't have in this video. You get all the data including club data that the square gives in GS Pro.
No in depth of the native square sim app?
I have filmed a lot of content and it will all be coming out over the next few weeks 👍👍 stay tuned
Can anyone tell me how the credits work when you are using the GSPRO connector? Do you need to buy credits if you want to play courses on GSPRO?
Credits are only required for square golf’s courses. GSPro connector is free, you just need a GSPro subscription
no credits used, no extra fees beyond the gspro. I believe the people who use the credit based system will be more casual/occasional users and it will be perfect for them. Plus who knows how much the square software and courses will advance.
How to get this in the US?
There is a separate website out of New Jersey. I sent the UK site an email and got a link to the us site right away.
@ no issues with ordering through them?
I'm not sure it's officially released there at the moment mate. And I think they are struggling to keep up with sales! 🔥🔥
@@JLagGOLF I’m very intrigued by this product! Been working with the R10 for a while and trying to decide which direction to go.
@@musicandsound2574 I ordered today. They said they have in stock now.
Mine is set to ship out Monday.
No promo codes available for the US site.
This is early firmware. Rapsodo/Garmin took 1 year to get near this.

13:20 not without a protector for the square🤣🤣 It's expensive🤣🤣
