Couldn't agree more. All youtubers are heading to premium courses that some of us will never get to play. I'd rather see them bat it around an old faithful 😊
Rick it was such a pleasure to have you out to the course. We are honored to be a part of your travels and videos. -Dezerae Groover Assistant Golf Professional at Bobby Jones
Rick, I was your starter at Bobby Jones on Monday, Oct 28. Thanks for publicizing the MOD Rule (Magnolia on odd days). Our future guests will be happy to know they will be playing Azalea or Magnolia when they arrive.
Rick! It was awesome meeting you right there after you finished the 2nd hole here at Bobby Jones. Thanks for taking the time to chat and snag a photo. Much love from Atlanta 🤙 ✊🏻 🏌️♂️
I marshaled the new Bobby Jones course the first year it re-opened. 8 tee boxes per hole per 9 holes for each of Azalea and Magnolia. As the starter said they would play either Azalea of Magnolia each day except after it first opened when they would let people play both nines by having a shot gun start and after you finished your hole, you would wait 15 minutes and tee off at the hole adjacent to the hole you finished, only this time you were playing the other course. Not sure if they still do that or not. Bobby Jones used to be a City of Atlanta course but the Jones family was not happy about the family name on a course that they felt was in poor shape so the city gave the course to the state of Georgia in exchange for a parking garage in downtown Atlanta. The course was leveled and the new course was built. As Rick said, there is no rough on the course because the two nine hole layouts overlay each other, but the greens are large, lots of undulation, and very fast.
Also kinda like the travel bits, good to keep trying new things Rick. I know you got a lot of flack for stopping break 75 but this is just as good or even better!
I can say that from playing the course years ago (in disrepair) until now is such a huge improvement. We love playing there when we get a chance and I gotta remember the MOOD rule because we have only played Azalea. Awesome to see the course repaired after the hurricane as there was major flooding over several of the holes. The course facilities are great as well with a pitch and putt course, an additional putting course, some of the best lessons around and a great driving range. Thanks for the great video Rick. Really enjoyed it.
Good to see Rick playing golf like He have fun again. More relax more chill but play pretty good golf fun and enjoy watching. After all you play golf for Living man!!
So good to see your playing so well. Watched pretty much all your videos from the original ones to now. Love the new content and can’t wait to see more keep it up Rick
It is so good to see the variety of content back on the channel. I really enjoy(ed) break 75, but the format has been done to death now across UA-cam. Your decision to pause/stop it was absolutely spot on. Also, I don’t think I’ve seen you control your draw as good as this on the channel for a very long time. That isn’t a criticism, as a 10 handicapper I know my place - please take that as the compliment I intended.
Rick, your videos have made me take golf a tad more seriously for about 5 years now. I'm from GA and have played Bobby Jones a few times. So awesome to see you play the same holes I have! Glad you enjoyed ATL!
Hope you had a great trip to America Rick! Congrats on the performance in the skins match that was great to watch! Looking forward to the content forth coming.
Crazy to see Rick play in my neck of the woods! I live just north of Atlanta and have played Bobby Jones many times. My first ever 9 holes under par was there!!
Glad you enjoyed a new gem in Atlanta. What has been done to preserve this piece of property is wonderful. I've lived 15 miles north of the course for 34 years. Glad you added the history of the course before you played your second nine. I played the original course when it started to become a goat pasture. Due to physical limitations unable to play the great game right now on the gem. Looks like you had a nice visit to Atlanta and based on your attire for your 1st nine, you are now Rick "Long Socks" Shiels to me. Thanks for the video.
Love to see Rick swinging free like this. His game and head are in a great place at the moment. Taking a break from B75 seems to have been the right call!
What’s been fun watching you of late, Rick, is you’re playing confident and fun golf. Still glad you care, but definitely fun to see you in better spirits! Cheers
It's great seeing you enjoying a more casual round! If you find yourself in Michigan, you should play The Loop at Forest Dunes for another reversible course experience.
This is a fantastic piece of content. Love the way it’s set up, starting at Chick-fil-a and just you having fun on course with the stingers and all that. Bravo Rick and team.
There is reversible golf course in the Netherlands too, called the links valley. Its been in many recent top lists, absolutely worth a visit when in the Netherlands.
What an epic video! Think someone else commented saying how nice it was to watch these simpler videos with you just enjoy life and playing some awesome golf by the way! Really enjoyed this one 👍🏼
Im a brit - i learnt Golf at Bobby Jones during my time in the wonderful Atlanta , the best place in the USA and the southerners 100% the best people - great memories
Love when you’re calmly and freely swinging it. Definitely the best golf you play. Would be cool to see you do a video with an average joe fan of the channel
I've already enjoyed some content from this trip and it is so good! That trailer somehow got me even more excited than i already was, and thats saying something when it comes to my love for YT golf and all the characters involved.
Really enjoyed the quicker tempo of this video with just Rick. I like the long form stuff don't get me wrong, but really enjoyed that i don't have to sit down for an hour to watch this. Keep it up!
Not sure what you have been doing (probably practising) but your golf game is on fire right now. After watching this and the other videos it's really good to see you playing like you should be. Love the content, keep it coming
Rick, I hope you see this. Just want to say how much I Love the content. These shorter half hour videos are so much fun to watch and really keep my attention. But also the super long format are insanely gripping like watching the drama unfold in a movie. Thank you for all you and the team do. Can't wait for 2025 content and club reviews
I am glad you played this course Rick. I live about 2 and a half hours from it and didn't even know it existed. I am going to have to try it out one of these days. It looks like a fun course. Thanks brother! Keep up the great content.
Enjoying this new format Rick. Less cart cam stuff is good for me personally. I've found that I skip through a lot of that chat these days as I'm more interested in the golf than the chit chat. Keep these coming!
Glad you enjoyed your time in the A, Rick! Bobby is a fun track, both ways. I just did Magnolia the other day after a long stretch of only playing Azalea. Always fun when you get to switch it up a bit. Thanks for the vids! oh and Go Hawks caCawwww
I love this format Rick!! No nonsense, just good golf. I don't always have or want to take the time to watch a 1-2 hour video, so the shorter format is great! Nice round BTW. Ironic, you breaking 75 here having stopped the break 75 series.
I've been watching you almost since day one Rick, and I can't remember the last time I saw you stripe your irons AND driver this well in a round. Fair play son, well done!
Fantastic content. The hard work is paying off, Rick. Your game looks 👌. Striking it great. Putter is on fire. Having a blast playing golf which is what it’s all about. Keep it up!
Rick, way cool video! from the Chick-fil-A intro, the trailer, the cool course, the B-Ball game with you being all "gangsta" man you nailed it, the Vibe is High, let's Go!
Nice to see you playing to your natural shot shape. You've also been playing better when you're just casually playing for fun. Can't wait to see everyone's content at Solina. 🔥
Mate loved this style content with the before and after rounds really personalises the videos and what an epic performance mate very good golf played feeling motivated now 👏
You were driving it much better than you did at Solina. I’ve played Bobby Jones many times, was surprised to see you playing it given all the great courses in Georgia. Thanks Rick
Ricky, you have certainly stepped your game up! Look back 12-18 months at distance and accuracy and you'll see you are a much better player. Also, if you are in the states, you have to go to AZ (Scottsdale area) and do some midnight golf between now and February...of you do, I'll fly out there and join you!
Rick, the actual ‘most unique’ course in America is Keith Hills in Buies Creek, NC: three separate 9-hole courses, Orange, White, and Black, that are paired up daily (sometimes twice daily) to make one 18-hole course. You might play White/Orange, or Orange/Black, or Black/White, who knows. This is further jumbled not only by the courses assigned, but also by the order they may be played in: THAT is unique!!
i played the day rick was there. really wish he had been there after the course had healed from hurricane weather. crew has done a great job. was prob 60% back on this video. about 80% now.
This does show how hard the courses Rick usually films at are and that he is truly around a scratch golfer. He plays on a more everyday course for most of us, and comfortably shoots even.
My home course. Best public golf in the area. And they’ve done tremendous work after the flood. Shame you couldn’t see it at its best, but hopefully you’ll be back!
Great video. You are correct about the history of the course and the dis-repair. In the 80's it was a terrible neighborhood and you risked getting robbed while playing the course!
A little late but Bobby Jones had a home in Atlanta you could’ve visited (drive by). 3488 Tuxedo Road…Next time. Another place you might want to consider in your future travels is Peachtree Golf Club - in Atlanta and not too far from Bobby Jones GC. Private but I’m sure you have connections. Beautiful track and designed by Robert Trent Jones and Bobby Jones. Great video by the way…
My godness you looked so smooth in this video. Swing looked so effortless, pleasure to watch. Noticed that you moved hips quicker with your driver what definitely worked
I love these simpler videos. When every week is a life-altering bucket list course, it kind of loses its magic. It’s fun to just watch you play golf
Couldn't agree more. All youtubers are heading to premium courses that some of us will never get to play. I'd rather see them bat it around an old faithful 😊
Rick it was such a pleasure to have you out to the course. We are honored to be a part of your travels and videos.

You all look to have a really awesome set up. Not sure I will ever get to play there being in CO, but you can be proud of what you have going!
I would have loved to see him there! I probably drove past there while he was there.
Rick, I was your starter at Bobby Jones on Monday, Oct 28. Thanks for publicizing the MOD Rule (Magnolia on odd days). Our future guests will be happy to know they will be playing Azalea or Magnolia when they arrive.
Your the man Kent
You *are* the man. Always enjoy chatting with you on the first tee.
Hope you had a great round on Monday, Nov 4th
You were our starter, Kent, when we played earlier in the year. Loved it! Thanks for looking after us and introducing what is such a special venue!!
Glenn, it was great to have you as a guest at Bobby Jones Golf. Please come back and play the other course! Kent
That’s the best I have seen Rick strike
It for ages. Great content
Just know when the socks go up… Mother Truckers get knocked out 😲
Seriously! I was very impressed. Great to see!
It was the power of Chik-fil-a.
Thinking the same thing. He was really striping it. Best from the tee in years.....
The confidence of 45k in your pocket?
Imagine going to Chick-a-fila and Rick Shiels is just chilling there
I saw Martin Kaymer at Whole Foods in Orlando…does that count?…actually I was kinda star struck to be honest...

Bro, he’s a golf UA-camr, not the President of the United States! Who cares. Obviously you think he’s more than just another person!

My favourite Rick video in a good while! Just really nice fun vibe. Game's looking good!
As a Yorkshireman golfer who rarely travels, it's great when Rick does these courses from America. I'm living my dream thru him.
