oxidatie Depends, Catholics have the easiest as they have the most option in terms of the availability to attend masses. Other denominations, not so much. Christians in the U.A.E. can practice and live their Christian faith as long as they *don’t evangelize* outside their own worshipping place. You must not bad-mouth other faiths and you’ll be fine.
Luis II religion is just a synonym for relationship with GOD. It’s like knowing details about what is your friend’s, significant other’s, parents’ favorite color, food, games, hobby, etc. or what is his physique. What that person likes or dislikes, what do they value from their relationship with you, etc. Same with GOD. We know that GOD is trinity, LORD Jesus Christ incarnated, his Mother is Virgin Mary, his foster father is St. Joseph. GOD is _ipsum esse subsistens_ then from it implies omnibenevolence, omnipotence, omniscience, immaterial, etc. Another set of religion are dos and don’ts. Like the decalogue summarized, loving GOD and loving neighbor, enemy. No cussing, cursing, swearing, profane words, disrespecting others, infidelity, etc. And being a disciple to LORD Jesus Christ and knowing that he loves everyone, even the sinners and the enemies. He is patient, slow to anger. He deserves all our love and more. John 15:15 “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
Fantastic. I've been in the place of explaining why I believe with friends at a bar, and I found that the Incarnation is a great place to start and reorients the conversation away from the virtues and vices of Christians and towards the infinite and the wonder of our everyday experiences.

“Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves. But beware of people, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans. When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you." Matthew Chapter 10:16-20
When I speak to people about God, I always talk about "The Parable of the Prodigal Son" in Luke 15:11-32. This shows us how God is, just as the father of the "lost" son when he comes back home and doesn't feel worthy of being called son. I often change the title of the story to "The homecoming son". Because when his father sees him far away, he runs towards him and puts his arms around him and tells his servants to dress the son up in the finest clothes, putting a ring on his finger and slaughter the fattend calf and made a feast for him. That is exactly how God is to every single one of us. Full of love and care, and wherever we go, He is there. If we are alone, He is there filling us with his eternal fatherly love. God does not see to what we have and not have. He looks into our hearts and where there is emptyness, He fills it up with love. If we are rich or poor - God doesn't care about this - He only cares about our honesty to Him and to say yes to Him and let Him into our hearts. Even if it takes years, for God that is no problem as long as He get us into His fold. His fold of true love and care, full of grace. We should not start with the Incarnation, dicipleship or the resurrection. This is too heavy for people that is down and try to find a purpose with their lives and to find God. Then first to start with is the love of God as in the "Homecoming son".

I've also found that the kerygma of St. Paul in 1 Cor 15, one of the oldest parts of the New Testament, is a particularly moving passage: "For I delivered unto you first of all, which I also received: how that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day, according to the scriptures: And that he was seen by Cephas; and after that by the eleven. And last of all, he was seen also by me, as by one born out of due time."
Faith- the Incarnation-God became man to save us. I can do this and as a grandmother and catechist am always searching for ways to share Jesus. Thank you Father Casey, you are on my daily prayer list. Bless you for using the wild wicked web as a platform for salvation. I love it:)
I would say that our faith is salvation through love, an unconditional love which forgives. If they wanted to know what separates us from other faiths or how does it matter, I would simply say isn’t that what faith is. As I once said to my children, “how do you make a tree”. They replied “with a seed”, I said that is a good answer, but a human answer, and I asked again. They stood in silence. I replied “how can we possibly answer how to create the seed of life when we focus so little on the blessings right in front of us”. We are but children of god, even in our old age we are still so young struggling to crawl, while we perceive that we are running. The creation of the seed is perfection in its own by way of divine creation. Every leaf is as intended, just as we are. We are truly blessed in so many ways, sometimes we must look at things from outside ourselves. Faith is trusting of the Lord and giving ourselves up to him, through suffering and by many other means. It fills you with peace and comfort, it is not perfect, but god is and he shows us that through his will and his plans, he has laid out so much for us, that we are sometimes so absorbed into this world, we fail to hear or see. That Fr. Casey, I would say is what our faith is about, that would possibly be the best way to put it in a sense. Love, Forgiveness, and Life through Peace. Truly we are blessed.
In my years of evangelism experience, there is no "simple formula". You cannot be put on the spot and have a simple two sentence golden answer. The only way to evangelize is to build relationship, or at least build on a common faith foundation. Take the Apostles in Acts. Everywhere they went, they went immediately to the synagogue, which is where people already believed in the OT, and so the Apostles just had to point to OT Prophecies of Jesus (e.g. Isaiah 53). The one time that Paul wasn't in a synagogue, he preached directly to pagans in the town square, but there was no common ground, so Paul had nothing to build on, and so the pagans weren't convinced of much in Paul's brief sermon. Paul's preaching directly to pagans in Acts 17 was largely a failure, as the pagans had no interest. That's the same model as today when you preach directly to a pagan, they see the Jesus story as bizarre and irrelevant. So you have to start small and be willing to invest lots of time with people who have no faith background. Meanwhile, it's often easy to talk to Protestants, because they already accept most of what Catholics already believe.
Thanks for your comment! It's a really interesting insight of the preaching of Paul. The same time I think he does build on common faith foundations even with the pagan, as he appoints to the altar of the "unknown god", and uses citations from grec poets (17,28) (as he does as well in his letter to Tite), and results with the conversion of "Dionysius and some other", so I don't think his preaching was a failure. Indeed it shows your point of view, that he needed to invest time to explain and transmit the faith, and find those common points with the pagans.
I have never known how to summarize the Gospel, and I likely never will, at least not in a concise manner. I have also considered doing a big paper on the subject, sounds like a good project for seminary.
Yassssss I got the right answer before you said it! Lol I'm so childish. Anyway, this reminds me a lot of what William Vanstone wrote in his books Love's Endeavour, Love's Expense and The Stature of Waiting, namely that God in Jesus is 'non passibilis sed passus' - impassable but yet still made himself vulnerable to a finite human life and death, to receive on himself his own creation's full capacity for horror and hatred, love and tenderness, so that, in our reception of the same, we become imprinted with the image of God, and therefore called to serve like God in Jesus. It makes me so happy to see that this isn't a minority view!
Problem is Fr. C. we the laypeople of the church seem to be "defending" and it would seem that none go to you...the priests...I may be wrong and I hope I am...,but there are times I want to tell people to go talk to a priest about Mary, Sacraments, Eucharist...bickering over Chritianity goes nowhere many times. Thoughts? Peace!
I have a question to anybody, who may be able to answer it. Is my confirmation valid if I knew that I was in a state of Mortal Sin, bust still chose to receive this sacrament? This question was specific to what I was thinking right now, but the message still is there: *When you willingly receive a sacrament while in state of a mortal sin, is it still valid?*
Think about this: by definition one is in a state of sin when receiving the sacrament of baptism. Celebrate the love of Christ and continue to grow in love.
I'm fed up and sick to my soul stumbling and doubting, Having pointless arguments with myself about the existence of my Christ and saviour, it's wearing me out . Why can't I embrace or cast it free .
Br Casey, according to you up to what extent are Christians called to share the Truth? If other people refuse It is it legit to insist? I'm not so convinced that my Christian conduct is sufficiently appealing to nonbelievers
When dealing with atheists, I can answer most of their questions well. Yet sometimes one of them asks, why do bad things happen to good people? Is God cruel? I need a better answer.
I love κήρυγμα ... so God loved us, he became like us, in everything, suffering utmost humiliating death, rised from the dead on the 3rd day, abolishing death, and granting everlasting life and great mercy Χριστὸς ἀνέστη ἐκ νεκρῶν, θανάτῳ θάνατον πατήσας, καὶ τοῖς ἐν τοῖς μνήμασι, ζωὴν χαρισάμενος!

Wonderful explanation

@@BreakingInTheHabit I'm really excited to see how this series will go! It looks super interesting so far!
@@BreakingInTheHabit And when can we expect to see the series? How often do you film and upload?
Excellent, thank you.
Fr. Casey we need to translate your videos to Spanish... maybe as subtitles available on request on UA-cam
I love it. Thank you !!!
I have never known how to summarize the Gospel, and I likely never will, at least not in a concise manner. I have also considered doing a big paper on the subject, sounds like a good project for seminary.
What about the Apostles' Creed?
@@berwynsigns4115 That is hardly concise.
¡¡¡Awesome!!!
Thank you
Very insightful
Problem is Fr. C. we the laypeople of the church seem to be "defending" and it would seem that none go to you...the priests...I may be wrong and I hope I am...,but there are times I want to tell people to go talk to a priest about Mary, Sacraments, Eucharist...bickering over Chritianity goes nowhere many times. Thoughts? Peace!

I make the caption for Chinese, hope more Chinese know our faith. If interested ask me
I have a question to anybody, who may be able to answer it.
@@dantarot Wow. Thank you. I never thought about it that way. I nevee imagined any sacrament like the sacrament of baptism. I thank you so much!
I'm fed up and sick to my soul stumbling and doubting,
Having pointless arguments with myself about the existence of my Christ and saviour, it's wearing me out . Why can't I embrace or cast it free .
Br Casey, according to you up to what extent are Christians called to share the Truth? If other people refuse It is it legit to insist? I'm not so convinced that my Christian conduct is sufficiently appealing to nonbelievers
To be a Christian is to give your will for GOD's will, allowing Christ to live through you.
When dealing with atheists, I can answer most of their questions well. Yet sometimes one of them asks, why do bad things happen to good people? Is God cruel? I need a better answer.
💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽beautiful!
Is it from Kerygma to Dogma or Kerygma vs Dogma?
Video sans music, the message came with a heavier impact...

hello
I love κήρυγμα ... so God loved us, he became like us, in everything, suffering utmost humiliating death, rised from the dead on the 3rd day, abolishing death, and granting everlasting life and great mercy
Χριστὸς ἀνέστη ἐκ νεκρῶν, θανάτῳ θάνατον πατήσας, καὶ τοῖς ἐν τοῖς μνήμασι, ζωὴν χαρισάμενος!
What does heaven look like and can Driving heaven
The creed then break it down
the thing I'd say, is For God so loved the world that He sent His Son to save us from our sins and death, the rest is just how we respond to that love.
