You mean the the harlot of revelation. Who "makes the brethren" consume "meat sacrificed to idols". Or what else do you call taking communion amongst carved images of saints? Framing up holders of true faith and commandments as iconoclasts doesn't make the church any more believable thatln her violent crimes in the past. "She is drunk on the blood of saints" just as the catholic church boasts in martyrdom of saints it doesn't own.

We, Oriental Orthodox, believe that Jesus was fully human, and fully divine. Not a half-god, not only divine, nor only human. Jesus Christ is out of two natures, but exists in one nature after the union. The natures being united without mingling, alteration or confusion. In this we simply follow the formula of St. Cyril of Alexandria: One Nature of the Word Incarnate. The 5th Ecumenical Council clarified that the one-nature formula is allowed, provided that this is understood in an Orthodox manner: the two natures remain distinct and do not mix or change. This is exactly how the Oriental Orthodox believe in the one nature of Christ. We have utterly condemned Eutychianism which states that Christ's human nature was absorbed by the divine, or any form of docetism which states that Christ did not have a divine nature at all. Naturally, we also condemn any teaching that states that Christ only had a human nature.
DKCoptic as Roman Catholics, we believe that Jesus is both human and divine. In The Catholic Apostles creed, the doctrine states, CONSUBSTANTIAL with the father, from what used to be, "one in being with the father." Hence, same Substance with the Father. Furthermore, the Holy spirit is also one with the Son and the Father. The Holy Spirit is the breath of God that enlightens us to understand the Word of God.
"Truth does exist..." those words are a breath of fresh air in this post modern world where everything is considered subjective and absolutes are seen as a thing of the past.
Catholics believe that there is objective truth, though we do not possess it in its entirety because it is subject to advancement in history. We will only possess complete objective truth at the end-time. That is why Catholics profess truth but do so tentatively. We need to be humble to revise our teaching, even as we profess them.

Our best way to live in the truth is to subject oneself to a teaching authority (Catholics call this the Magisterium) and to be open to revisions. I know people who are closed to Magisterial teaching; yet, if you called them schismatics, they would be offended.
Not only catholics, but everyone in the STEM fields is believing that "truth exists", which is why there is a cultural battle in academia surrounding the issue. As people who work based on the scientific method, tend to have some very strong view about postmodernism. (Along the lines, of "jump out of the window to see if you are superman, if reality is subjective")

That's called the Papal Infability, and it is only used in very rare occasions, when talking about dogmas (such as the Immaculate Conception of Mary, which is an nonnegotiable truth). Ever since the 1st Council of the Vatican (1869), when this power was made official, it was only used once. So, as Catholics, we acknowledge there is one Truth, one Objective, Immutable and Eternal Truth, and that the Truth created the Cathokic Church, which itself can bare the truth. Ave Maria!

That's why we call the LORD God and not god. Even the English Bibles do this in some places I typed "Father," just as this guy did

The fullness of the means of salvation are found only within Catholic Church founded by Christ Himself and enduring for nearly 2000 years after His resurrection. I recommend an honest conversation with a good Priest, or a look at the historicity of your Church's claims as compared to the history of the Early Catholic Church. @Rugio Oh Actually Eastern Orthodox Christians usually live in Eastern and Southern Europe (for example Russian Orthodox or Greek Orthodox) while Oriental Orthodox Christians are usually found in the Middle East and Africa.

Heh, oddly enough, Catholicism (along with any other form of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, or whatever religion you find today) would be considered "heresy" by most of the Legiones Astartes of the 41st Millenium.
The split of the Oriental Churches from the Universal (in those days) Orthodox Church is not as simple as they accepted only one nature of Christ. The oriental Churches (non Chaledonian) walked away from the Council of Chalcedonia in 451 thinking that the issue how to address or explain the two natures of Christ had not been solved and the Council has not come to an end. The schism came about when the Patriarch of Constantinople dismissed the Patriarch of Alexandria for not accepting the existence of the two natures of Christ and declared him heretical. The Patriarch of Constantinople named another patriarch and the Schism was created. The Oriental Churches did not endorse neither Eutychianism nor Apollinarianism (two versions of Monophysitism). For the Oriental Churches, Jesus is a perfect full human and a perfect full God. Greeks did not understand how the Copts were explaining the union of the two natures and simply rejected hearing anymore from them. It was actually a miscomprehension because they did not understand each other among other things because they spoke different languages. For the Greeks (and Catholics as well) the union of Christ’s two natures, one fully human and one fully divine is explained as a union of the Christ‘s humanity and Christ’s Divinity in one hypostasis (Hypostatic Union). However, the Oriental Churches accepting that Christ is fully Human and fully Divine came to a different explanation of the same conclusion. Jesus Christ, both natures Divinity and Humanity are united in one “new nature" ("physis"), the two being united without separation, without confusion, and without alteration. For them Jesus is fully God and fully human. The human nature and the Divine Nature came to exist in one “new nature”, the “nature of Christ”. All the Oriental Churches reject being called Monophysite; they emphasize that they are Miaphysites. Some theologians (neither catholics not orthodox) have begun to embrace the idea that this Christology (Miaphysitism) is consistent with, but different from the formulation at the Chalcedonian Council in 451.

Gnosticism in most forms said the world of sense impressions was illusion or a much removed from real reality corruption, created by a evil entity, known as the Demiurge in order to trap souls into his prison of illusion so these trapped souls will worship him as Creator. In the Matrix, you've got sentient computers who imprison humans in vats so they can use CNS electrochemical reactions as batteries, but to keep humans quiescent, the induce a hallucinatory "real world". For the Gnostics, initiating secret knowledge ( gnosis, to know) or in the Matrix, the red pill, strips away the illusions.

It never did. Inquisition was just interrogation till the heretic confessed. The inquisitors would apply the sinner the terrible fine of... Praying 100 Hail Marys or so... Torture was very rarely used (like, very rarely, because the inquisitors knew the weak wouldn't need to be tortured to confess, and the strong would resist). It was super rare for the inquisition to condemn people to death, and when it did, they rarely never actually executed...

I have to say, I see a great deal of Gnostic tendencies these days among Catholics and I'm surprised that didn't make it into this video. Sadly I see this affect both liberals and conservatives and in all cases puts a division between the person and the Church.

I've always thought it was fascinating that so many people wanted to contemplate/argue over the "dual nature of Christ," but nobody ever asks which of those two natures made him a force of good. Was it Christ's human or divine nature that made Him think that self-sacrifice was the better than fighting for self-reservation? Was it Christ's human or divine nature that made Him see value in healing the sick or feeding the hungry? Was it Christ's human or divine nature that saw something worth redeeming in humanity?
How do you distinguish error from truth? How do you know that someone else's truth is wrong? Many of the Church's teachings have been shown to be in error in the past; how do you guarantee that what you hold true is not in error?

Free Will was a gift that unfortunately became a double-edged sword due to Satan's temptation and the Fall. Remember the Parable of the Master and the Banquet - ultimately all are welcome. There will absolutely (and very sadly) be those who will refuse to answer the Master's summons; but the invitation was sent out everywhere to all who would listen to and answer that call. Which is entirely up to us if we are the ones who make excuses and rebuff His call, or the ones who heed it and follow. That's why I frankly state what should be the obvious - the Master's House has no occupancy limit, as intended. Though we should never forget that there is a time limit, though we may not be privy to it. That's why we must be ever watchful for the Master's return, to use another Parable. On Monophysitism... "This is actually the official stance of 6 Eastern Orthodox Churches." No, it's not. There are 2 problems with this statement. Firstly, those churches are not Eastern Orthodox. They are Oriental Orthodox. They are not in communion with the Eastern Orthodox Church. Secondly, those churches deny that they are Monophysites and instead prefer the term Miaphysite.

I don't know, the JW teaching about God and Jesus is logical for me and the bible support it as well. For an example, where does the bible says that Jesus is eternal and always existed? I don't know if there is any scripture that says so, but that he is begotten or have a beginning: John 1:18, Proverbs 8:22, Revelation 3:14, Colossians 1:15. No offense. I just don't see if it is a heresy. There are more evidence in the Bible for this form of arianism, than trinitarianism.
"Begotten" doesn't mean that there was a time when the Logos didn't exist. If there was, it would mean that the Son was created, not begotten. The word 'begotten' doesn't refer to a temporal act of birth. Neither does the original Hebrew in Proverbs 8:22. Revelations 3:14 refers to the fact that everything was created through the Logos: 'Through him all things were made'.(John 1:3). It doesn't mean that the Logos was the first of created beings. Besides, claiming that the Logos was created is also illogical: if God created everything through His Logos, what did He create the Logos with? The original Greek text in John 1:18 says "the only begotten God", and God is by definition eternal. Furthermore, Christ refers to himself as "I Am" throughout the Gospel of John. Jesus Christ is therefore YHWH, the Eternal.

The beginning of God(Father) creation. And it's Jesus. That's all what it says, if we don't assume the Trinity. The son created everything, therefore they both created everything in a sense. No contradiction at all. If you are doing something through someone, you are doing it with him. So if you stop assuming trinitarianism, can you prove that this view is wrong?

As a lifelong Southern Baptist I have to score this presentation a full and complete 'Amen!' I think I have a quibble with how you refer to Jesus' nature but it strikes me as a quibble, not a 'hold my breath until you turn blue' argument.
AFAIK Baptists have the same beliefs regarding the nature of Christ as us Catholics. It's a very varied denomination so I won't say *all* but certainly the majority, no?
@@crusaderACR I have to agree. Christ is indeed God (and whereas I can grasp that concept it does seem a bit odd and sometimes contradictory). No, I do not know of obvious and critical differences. Probably the biggest difference is the nature of Communion, or as 'we' call it, the Lord's Supper.

You should really call out examples of these heresies. The two most obvious are Jevohas Witnesses and Mormans, both who believe Jesus was a created being lesser than God. They are cults.
I'm a member of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints or what you called "mormams". We believe that Jesus is just as much of a God as his father. He has a different role, but he is just as powerful.

@@Telepian Do you believe in the Holy spirit? Trinitarian beliefs are what make you christian. Because non-Christians also often believe in christ or God, or Both. Like Muslims. If you are not a Trinitarian, I can hardly call you christian. If you do believe in the Trinity, then you are heretic, but if you don't believe in trinity, most christian denominations, won't even consider you to be a christian.
The Father is God, The Son is God, The Holy Ghost is God. They are not of one substance, but are one God united in their mission, love and purpose. John 17:21-23 "That they (the disciples) may be one ; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Go there, pray or go to the holy mass and talk to people, priest. They will help you and guide you to RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), to connect and become part of The Holy Catholic Church. God bless you on your journey!

But to be fair, non-chalcedonian churches were misrepresented in council of Chalcedon, they reject to be called monophysites, they call themselves miaphysites, they don't believe in one nature like Eutychians, they believe in both natures full god and full human united in one nature without mixing, they call it the incarnate word god nature. They made many ecumenical dialogues with the eastern orthodox churches ending up to the conclusion that they hold the same faith but in different theological terms, therefore Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria (who is moderate according to the previous Pope Shenouda III) convinced the Coptic holy synod to sign a religious document to stop re-baptism of eastern orthodoxes and to allow them to share the holy sacraments like marriage and eucharist with the copts and all non-chalcedonians. He also tried to end the re-baptism of catholics and allow for mutual marriage and eucharist but the holy synod rejected, they consider catholics as heretics untill solving the main seven differences (heresies according to them) between orthodoxy and catholicism, they are: 1-filioque addition to the creed 2-the immaculate conception 3-purgatory 4-papacy 5-marriage with non-believers 6-salvation of non-believers 7-baptism without immersion and accepting of the baptism performed by heretics.
Two uniquely distinct natures in one *other* nature without mixing... is not even a possibility. That would completely separate the Son from the Father and Holy Spirit, ultimately amounting to denying the Holy Trinity, which contradicts the Gospel entirely. Hypostatic Union. The fullness of two natures distinct but united in one divine Person (the Second divine Person of the Holy Trinity). That is the only way to refute heresy on the topic. And it is the one given to the Church.

I'm confused by a verb ("allow"-near end of segment) used that seems to imply that the Church somehow has power, or should have power, over what another thinks/believes. Can you please clarify? "doesn't mean we're ok to ALLOW others to continue to profess something that is..." "to ALLOW someone to continue to believe something that is..." Allow?
This was actually a good video. Arianism is found in Non-Christian cults such as the Jehovah Witnesses, Oneness Pentecostals, and Mormonism. A rejection of the Divinity of Christ as God and the Holy Trinity is what separated the Arians and Semi-Arians from the Christians. Pelagianism is found in Evangelical Protestant denominations in which they believe that the Sacrament of Baptism is not necessary for salvation. While St. Augustine stated it would be impossible to have salvation without Baptism as such Baptism is a requirement of salvation as such no one could enter into the Kingdom of God without being Baptized in Christ's death. Monophysitism the Church of the East and the Oriental Orthodox Church. However, the Oriental Orthodox Church regards themselves as Miaphysite being they believe their view is the same as St. Cyril of Alexandria. I do have to correct you on this one the Eastern Orthodox Church sided with the Western Church in accepting the Tome of Leo (Pope St. Leo the Great).
It is a common misconception that Mormons are Arians. That is not quite accurate. Mormons have many verses in their own scripture that affirm the oneness of God and Jesus being co-qual and co-eternal with the Father. They have very different formulas and language on how that oneness is achieved, and traditional Christians have loads of objections to those, (and that may make them semi-Arians depending on how you judge those things, I disagree, but then to some Catholics, Orthodox are practically social trinitarians and to some Orthodox, Catholics are practically Sabelians but I digress,) but in no way do they suggest that Jesus is merely a perfected man or subordinate to the father. He is fully God and was from the beginning. The difference between Mormon theology is on the other end of the equation. If they are heretics they are Origenists. It's not that they think Jesus isn't co-eternal to the Father, it's that all of humanity is somehow co-eternal with the Father as well. So they do destroy the Creator / Creation distinction, but it's on the other end of the spectrum. Which may seem like splitting hairs but these things do matter as the discussion about miaphysite and monophysite above demonstrates.
The early Christians never upheld the doctrine of trinity. The Bible is clear, there is only one God, the Father in heaven. Christ, the Son of God is truly human (I Tim. 2:5 CEV) and not god (Lk. 24:38-39 & Jn. 4:24)
Baptism is NOT necessary for salvation. BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31). The thief on the cross was never baptised!

Nowhere in that verse does it say that no other requirements were needed for salvation. The fact that verse is silent doesn't mean that it rejects other requirements. Funny enough you've not noticed that immediately after that conversation, two verses later, the soldier and all of his household got baptised (verse 33). Then again I guess you haven't read your Bible enough to know that EVERYBODY who accepted Jesus Christ got baptised, even Cornelius and his household who had already received the Holy Spirit. The only exception is the thieve on the cross, and that is an EXCEPTION. You probably also haven't read your bible enough to know that baptism was commanded by Jesus Himself (Matthew 28:19). Sometimes wonder if some people are not actually demons that come here to make comments to derail people's faith. Some of the arguments are so flimsy against the facts that they beg such conclusions.
Manifestations of Pelagianism also include the myth of "progress", and the excessive celebration of the "individual". IMO Pelagianism is the most pervasive and insidious heresy today.
I think part of the problem is the nature of both the left and right wing. The nature of the left wing looks at things in terms of "the system," and treats "the system" as insurmountable without another (human) system. The right is the exact opposite, and you don't even have to go very far right to get into Pelagianism. the farthest left assumes the greatest weakness of the human being against the state or obstacles in general, the farthest right assumes the greatest strength of the individual against the state, or obstacles in general.
And what about the roman-catholic doctrinal abuses? Let’s see: Filioque, papal primacy, imacullata ..., the cult of the heart, the use of waffles for the comunion instead of bread, not giving the blood for the comunion...shall i continue?
And what about the division and hatred among the orthodox communities. Totally unable to organise a council for 12 centuries. The 2016 attempt was a total failure. The bishops of Constantinople and of Moscow hate each other and fight to be the chief. The so-calling ‘diverse but united in faith’ is a joke. The orthodox have been unable to convert any people since 1054. Result: the orthodox don’t obey the Christ when he demand his disciples to stay united, and to go around the world to spread the gospel. The only unity among the orthodox is their hatred towards to Catholic Church. They spend all their time and energy criticizing the straw in the Catholic eyes, instead of noticing the beam in theirs. And they call themselves ‘christians’. Poor Christ!

I am Coptic Orthodox and what you said about our beliefs is horribly misunderstood. We believe miaphysitism which means that Jesus Christ was of one nature that is the nature of the incarnate Son of God. It simply means that his divinity abd humanity are completely insperable. Just check this part of the Coptic divine liturgy: "Truly, I believe that His divinity parted not from His humanity for a single moment, nor a twinkling of an eye". This doesn't sound at all like what you said that Christ our Lord was always of one nature, sometimes human others divine. Far from it!
Greetings Karen! As a point of clarification, Catholics too believe that Christ's human and divine natures are one and inseparable, resulting in a unique nature. When the natures were being manifest to the people when Jesus was alive, they just had to take on either human or divine characteristics, depending on the circumstances. So it is an just issue of language we use to explain things regarding the actions of Jesus.
The dislikes are from the people who see that this, is just another extremist with extremist teachings, currently packaged in a sly and plush consumer-friendly form.
I don't know if it is a named heresy but in my mind the "health and wealth" or "name it and claim it" doctrine is so pervasive and so against Scripture that I wouldn't hesitate to call it a heresy.

We also believe that Christ is perfect in humanity and perfect in divinity
The difference is the we say that after the Hypostatic Union, there is 1 nature of the word incarnate (Hypostasis of the Son) as St. Cyril of Alexandria taught his church.
This has always been the case, and you can double check this by reading what was written in that era, by Saints like St. Severus of Antioch or St. Dioscorus of Alexandria the disciple of St. Cyril

I always had the sense that the ones St. Francis wore were more like some kind of coarse sack cloth. Now they look more like soft jammies.
We, Oriental Orthodox, believe that Jesus was fully human, and fully divine. Not a half-god, not only divine, nor only human. Jesus Christ is out of two natures, but exists in one nature after the union. The natures being united without mingling, alteration or confusion.
In this we simply follow the formula of St. Cyril of Alexandria: One Nature of the Word Incarnate. The 5th Ecumenical Council clarified that the one-nature formula is allowed, provided that this is understood in an Orthodox manner: the two natures remain distinct and do not mix or change. This is exactly how the Oriental Orthodox believe in the one nature of Christ.
We have utterly condemned Eutychianism which states that Christ's human nature was absorbed by the divine, or any form of docetism which states that Christ did not have a divine nature at all. Naturally, we also condemn any teaching that states that Christ only had a human nature.
We believe that there are still 2 natures, divine and human, but one union.

In The Catholic Apostles creed, the doctrine states, CONSUBSTANTIAL with the father, from what used to be, "one in being with the father." Hence, same Substance with the Father. Furthermore, the Holy spirit is also one with the Son and the Father. The Holy Spirit is the breath of God that enlightens us to understand the Word of God.

We will only possess complete objective truth at the end-time. That is why Catholics profess truth but do so tentatively. We need to be humble to revise our teaching, even as we profess them.

Ever since the 1st Council of the Vatican (1869), when this power was made official, it was only used once.
So, as Catholics, we acknowledge there is one Truth, one Objective, Immutable and Eternal Truth, and that the Truth created the Cathokic Church, which itself can bare the truth.

But you ought to reconsider it anyway. The fullness of the means of salvation are found only within Catholic Church founded by Christ Himself and enduring for nearly 2000 years after His resurrection. The split of the Oriental Churches from the Universal (in those days) Orthodox Church is not as simple as they accepted only one nature of Christ. The oriental Churches (non Chaledonian) walked away from the Council of Chalcedonia in 451 thinking that the issue how to address or explain the two natures of Christ had not been solved and the Council has not come to an end. The schism came about when the Patriarch of Constantinople dismissed the Patriarch of Alexandria for not accepting the existence of the two natures of Christ and declared him heretical. The Patriarch of Constantinople named another patriarch and the Schism was created.
The Oriental Churches did not endorse neither Eutychianism nor Apollinarianism (two versions of Monophysitism). For the Oriental Churches, Jesus is a perfect full human and a perfect full God. Greeks did not understand how the Copts were explaining the union of the two natures and simply rejected hearing anymore from them. It was actually a miscomprehension because they did not understand each other among other things because they spoke different languages.
For the Greeks (and Catholics as well) the union of Christ’s two natures, one fully human and one fully divine is explained as a union of the Christ‘s humanity and Christ’s Divinity in one hypostasis (Hypostatic Union). However, the Oriental Churches accepting that Christ is fully Human and fully Divine came to a different explanation of the same conclusion. Jesus Christ, both natures Divinity and Humanity are united in one “new nature" ("physis"), the two being united without separation, without confusion, and without alteration. All the Oriental Churches reject being called Monophysite; they emphasize that they are Miaphysites. Some theologians (neither catholics not orthodox) have begun to embrace the idea that this Christology (Miaphysitism) is consistent with, but different from the formulation at the Chalcedonian Council in 451.

It never did. Inquisition was just interrogation till the heretic confessed. The inquisitors would apply the sinner the terrible fine of... Praying 100 Hail Marys or so... Torture was very rarely used (like, very rarely, because the inquisitors knew the weak wouldn't need to be tortured to confess, and the strong would resist).
It was super rare for the inquisition to condemn people to death, and when it did, they rarely never actually executed...

I've always thought it was fascinating that so many people wanted to contemplate/argue over the "dual nature of Christ," but nobody ever asks which of those two natures made him a force of good. Was it Christ's human or divine nature that made Him think that self-sacrifice was the better than fighting for self-reservation? Was it Christ's human or divine nature that made Him see value in healing the sick or feeding the hungry? Was it Christ's human or divine nature that saw something worth redeeming in humanity?

That is something I have pondered as well. If the Christian god is omniscient then he already knows who will be accepted into heaven and who will be rejected and sent to hell before they have even been born.

Remember the Parable of the Master and the Banquet - ultimately all are welcome. There will absolutely (and very sadly) be those who will refuse to answer the Master's summons; but the invitation was sent out everywhere to all who would listen to and answer that call. "Begotten" doesn't mean that there was a time when the Logos didn't exist. If there was, it would mean that the Son was created, not begotten. The word 'begotten' doesn't refer to a temporal act of birth. Neither does the original Hebrew in Proverbs 8:22. Revelations 3:14 refers to the fact that everything was created through the Logos: 'Through him all things were made'.(John 1:3). It doesn't mean that the Logos was the first of created beings. Besides, claiming that the Logos was created is also illogical: if God created everything through His Logos, what did He create the Logos with? The original Greek text in John 1:18 says "the only begotten God", and God is by definition eternal. Furthermore, Christ refers to himself as "I Am" throughout the Gospel of John. Jesus Christ is therefore YHWH, the Eternal.

God created everything through the son. The son created everything, therefore they both created everything in a sense. No contradiction at all. If you are doing something through someone, you are doing it with him. Stop assuming trinitarianism.
Jesus could easily created everything, because he doesn't have to create himself, since he is begotten. But in a sense he is created, but more accurately he is begotten. So if you stop assuming trinitarianism, can you prove that this view is wrong?

Eastern Orthodoxy does believe in the dual nature of Christ so you need to educate yourself on the Orthodox Church.

But to be fair, non-chalcedonian churches were misrepresented in council of Chalcedon, they reject to be called monophysites, they call themselves miaphysites, they don't believe in one nature like Eutychians, they believe in both natures full god and full human united in one nature without mixing, they call it the incarnate word god nature.
They made many ecumenical dialogues with the eastern orthodox churches ending up to the conclusion that they hold the same faith but in different theological terms, therefore Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria (who is moderate according to the previous Pope Shenouda III) convinced the Coptic holy synod to sign a religious document to stop re-baptism of eastern orthodoxes and to allow them to share the holy sacraments like marriage and eucharist with the copts and all non-chalcedonians.
He also tried to end the re-baptism of catholics and allow for mutual marriage and eucharist but the holy synod rejected, they consider catholics as heretics untill solving the main seven differences (heresies according to them) between orthodoxy and catholicism, they are:
1-filioque addition to the creed
2-the immaculate conception
3-purgatory
4-papacy
5-marriage with non-believers
6-salvation of non-believers
7-baptism without immersion and accepting of the baptism performed by heretics.
"Miaphysites" content is still heretical regardless of misrepresentation.
Two uniquely distinct natures in one *other* nature without mixing... is not even a possibility. That would completely separate the Son from the Father and Holy Spirit, ultimately amounting to denying the Holy Trinity, which contradicts the Gospel entirely.
Hypostatic Union. The fullness of two natures distinct but united in one divine Person (the Second divine Person of the Holy Trinity). That is the only way to refute heresy on the topic. And it is the one given to the Church.

Arianism is found in Non-Christian cults such as the Jehovah Witnesses, Oneness Pentecostals, and Mormonism. A rejection of the Divinity of Christ as God and the Holy Trinity is what separated the Arians and Semi-Arians from the Christians.
Pelagianism is found in Evangelical Protestant denominations in which they believe that the Sacrament of Baptism is not necessary for salvation. While St. Augustine stated it would be impossible to have salvation without Baptism as such Baptism is a requirement of salvation as such no one could enter into the Kingdom of God without being Baptized in Christ's death.
Monophysitism the Church of the East and the Oriental Orthodox Church. However, the Oriental Orthodox Church regards themselves as Miaphysite being they believe their view is the same as St. Cyril of Alexandria. I do have to correct you on this one the Eastern Orthodox Church sided with the Western Church in accepting the Tome of Leo (Pope St. Leo the Great).
It is a common misconception that Mormons are Arians. That is not quite accurate. Mormons have many verses in their own scripture that affirm the oneness of God and Jesus being co-qual and co-eternal with the Father. They have very different formulas and language on how that oneness is achieved, and traditional Christians have loads of objections to those, (and that may make them semi-Arians depending on how you judge those things, I disagree, but then to some Catholics, Orthodox are practically social trinitarians and to some Orthodox, Catholics are practically Sabelians but I digress,) but in no way do they suggest that Jesus is merely a perfected man or subordinate to the father. He is fully God and was from the beginning. The difference between Mormon theology is on the other end of the equation. If they are heretics they are Origenists. It's not that they think Jesus isn't co-eternal to the Father, it's that all of humanity is somehow co-eternal with the Father as well. So they do destroy the Creator / Creation distinction, but it's on the other end of the spectrum. Which may seem like splitting hairs but these things do matter as the discussion about miaphysite and monophysite above demonstrates.
The early Christians never upheld the doctrine of trinity. The Bible is clear, there is only one God, the Father in heaven. Christ, the Son of God is truly human (I Tim. 2:5 CEV) and not god (Lk. 24:38-39 & Jn. 4:24)
Baptism is NOT necessary for salvation. BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31). The thief on the cross was never baptised!

Nowhere in that verse does it say that no other requirements were needed for salvation. The fact that verse is silent doesn't mean that it rejects other requirements. Funny enough you've not noticed that immediately after that conversation, two verses later, the soldier and all of his household got baptised (verse 33). Then again I guess you haven't read your Bible enough to know that EVERYBODY who accepted Jesus Christ got baptised, even Cornelius and his household who had already received the Holy Spirit. The only exception is the thieve on the cross, and that is an EXCEPTION. You probably also haven't read your bible enough to know that baptism was commanded by Jesus Himself (Matthew 28:19).
Sometimes wonder if some people are not actually demons that come here to make comments to derail people's faith. Some of the arguments are so flimsy against the facts that they beg such conclusions.
Manifestations of Pelagianism also include the myth of "progress", and the excessive celebration of the "individual". IMO Pelagianism is the most pervasive and insidious heresy today.
I think part of the problem is the nature of both the left and right wing. The nature of the left wing looks at things in terms of "the system," and treats "the system" as insurmountable without another (human) system. The right is the exact opposite, and you don't even have to go very far right to get into Pelagianism.

Honest question. These are some paradoxes I have to reconcile.

And what about the roman-catholic doctrinal abuses? Let’s see: Filioque, papal primacy, imacullata ..., the cult of the heart, the use of waffles for the comunion instead of bread, not giving the blood for the comunion...shall i continue?
And what about the division and hatred among the orthodox communities. Totally unable to organise a council for 12 centuries. The 2016 attempt was a total failure. The bishops of Constantinople and of Moscow hate each other and fight to be the chief. The so-calling ‘diverse but united in faith’ is a joke. The orthodox have been unable to convert any people since 1054. Result: the orthodox don’t obey the Christ when he demand his disciples to stay united, and to go around the world to spread the gospel. The only unity among the orthodox is their hatred towards to Catholic Church. They spend all their time and energy criticizing the straw in the Catholic eyes, instead of noticing the beam in theirs. And they call themselves ‘christians’. Poor Christ!

@@BreakingInTheHabit I think, those who do use this therm, use it to lax and those who don't do so, often fall prey to it themselves. It's hard to fight this heresy without many shepherds living a good example...

Technically correct because modernism properly considered is not a heresy, in the singular, but a litany of heresies rooted in atheistic thought. A modernist is so steeped in wicked thought, so far from faith, so infested by so many unquantifiable heresies, that he is not so much a heretic as he is a total apostate. Maybe you need to read Pascendi Dominici Gregis and Lamentabili Sane, which you seem to have never read. Pope St. Pius X defined it as "the synthesis of all heresies" and later stated that "Modernism leads to atheism and to the annihilation of all religion."
Maybe you are dismissive of modernism because it has become so widespread and so ubiquitous you think modernism is actually Catholicism. Perhaps you should check what you actually believe and see if you are one yourself, God forbid.

under no circumstances would I stop being a Christian, commit an act of violence "in the name of God", then go back to pretending to be a "Christian". I know this was done through history by non-christians pretending to be christians, wearing crosses and being very religious, but they are in hell now, crosses and all. In Heaven is same situation, wit 3 exceptions. Enoh, Elijah an Moses. So, all the wicked are in expectation of the second resurrection and judgement, and punishment .The righteousness are in expectations of the first resurrection and big recompense. I am Coptic Orthodox and what you said about our beliefs is horribly misunderstood. We believe miaphysitism which means that Jesus Christ was of one nature that is the nature of the incarnate Son of God. It simply means that his divinity abd humanity are completely insperable. Just check this part of the Coptic divine liturgy:
"Truly, I believe that His divinity parted not from His humanity for a single moment, nor a twinkling of an eye".
This doesn't sound at all like what you said that Christ our Lord was always of one nature, sometimes human others divine. Far from it!
Greetings Karen! As a point of clarification, Catholics too believe that Christ's human and divine natures are one and inseparable, resulting in a unique nature. When the natures were being manifest to the people when Jesus was alive, they just had to take on either human or divine characteristics, depending on the circumstances. So it is an just issue of language we use to explain things regarding the actions of Jesus.

I wonder how many of the dislikes are from you saying that Matrix follows Heresy.
The Matrix states that the Jewish Messiah (=Jesus) was a human with his flaws and doubts, ergo, it says that Jesus can't be God, which is a heresy.
The dislikes are from the people who see that this, is just another extremist

I don't know if it is a named heresy but in my mind the "health and wealth" or "name it and claim it" doctrine is so pervasive and so against Scripture that I wouldn't hesitate to call it a heresy.

The Matrix believes in a human Jewish Messiah, who is having his flaws and doubts. Therefor this Messiah can't be God. So believing the explanation of The Matrix is a herecy, from the Catholic point of view.
