Now, this is how you make a video! You take your time, do before and after, explain what you did and that's it. No need to make 15 videos to show little progress. You start the video, get stuff done, get the results, edit into one video and that's it. No nonsense, no click bait. Unlike other guys that will click bait every time the plan or think about doing something. Thanks Bart!! You tube needs you!!
Got to love the countless how-to's. Nobody is here to learn from a 20something year old Noob on how to install your forged-billet casted steel alloy Ebay bolt-on's but thanks for the poor camera work and 17 minute one take step by step guide to failure. I love you.
The true new HP peak was ~231rwhp once you remove the "shark fin" spike of the torque converter lock up. Both sets of dyno numbers were STD correction. Divide by 1.025 to get SAE correction and the results would be: Stock: 211.6rwhp/250.0rwtq SAE or ~264.4hp/312.5lbft at the crank Bolt ons: 225.4rwhp/257.7rwtq SAE or ~281.8hp/321.1lbft at the crank
I have a 97 gt 5 speed with 82000 miles that I got from my late uncle and it has an x on the vin so I know its a winsor car im courently changing the headgaskets and other gaskets As Well. Wachting this video just motivates me even more to get it back and running so I can continue with the mods.
Bart i wish you all the best. I think you will be a huge success with youtube. Great personality and very informative without being boring. Too bad i live in new york and can't give you the business. Keep up with the videos you will grow im no time! I mean subscribers not your height!
Amazing vid Bart! Love all the knowledge you give us. The 2V 4.6L is a great platform for power and reliability. I have 2 that are both over 200k+ miles and still run great. I want to do a complete rebuild to get more ponies in my P71.
Very nice video. My '01 GT auto with very similar mods did 260/299 on a Mustang brand dyno, so it may just be a difference in brands. But these cars do pick up nice gains with more air.
I only watch tallguy cause he spends a lot of time there and you're well versed in performance and straight with people about what a waste most things are in the end. Keep it up.
This was an excellent video, I wish I could have done business with Hi-Tech motorsports, I placed an order for a set of the stage 2 cams for my 2v GT, the day after I placed it, after some spirited driving I lost compression in cylinder 3, turned out to have needed a head gasket, with compression leaking into cylinder 2. Unfortunately had to cancel my order with Hi-Tech which was the worst experience. I was told I have no idea what I'm talking about and that its impossible to have a head gasket failure in a 2v 4.6. After nearly 4 years as a Master Certified Ford tech, I guess I didnt have any idea what I was talking about. Terrible disrespect to a customer. Went with Cushman motorsports stage 2 cams during the rebuild of my 4.6.
when i had my 1999 mustang GT, i ran a 70mm th body, mac long tube headers with 3 in collectors, 3 in mac power chamber no cats, ported upper intake plen, FRPP underdrive pulleys, 24 lb injectors, 4.10 gears, Ported 80mm mass air, K&N open element filter, Super Chips tune for 100 oct fuel.. 310 hp with a Auto and a 3000 stall and a transgo shiftkit. Key is the plugs, copper 1 step hotter. custom gap.
Great video! very informative! I was told not long ago to get rid off the aftermarket cold air intake and put back the stock one because the air filter was right next to engine sucking the hot air instead of sucking the air under the fender. It took me a while to find a stock CAI. I don't feel the difference not even the sound.
Excellent video. im just finishing up my 4.6 4v swap and was starting to worry about finding a good tuner until i heard you say "elk river". ive never been so glad i live in Blaine!
Loved your video. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with me. Do you know someone in the Dallas Texas area that does the same level of work your shop does?
Holy hell dude I love this video LOL "It's all nice stuff made by Chinese kids making $3 an hour" Plus very informative for folks who have never been to a dyno or understand AFR and Wheel HP vs Crank HP. Sure wish I had seen this about 12yrs ago.
It also allows for flex and movement of the engine. When you apply torque to the drive-train the engine will twist, the rubber humps allow for this, among other reasons.
03 mustang gt convertible, bbk tuned length (shorty) heads, slp x pipe, slp loudmouth cat backs, sr cold air intake. I'd love to get a throttle body, plenum, and a tune. Stopped doing performance and did a few visual mods. I'd save for a newer 5.0 before any more performance parts, it already sounds great and will never be "fast" for todays standards
Fun stuff. Really like that busted safety glass, good warning to keep around. One thing annoyed me though. I do wish people would quit assigning whatever random percentage to driveline losses. It takes a fixed amount of power to spin a gearbox at a given speed. If you have a 200 HP engine and lose 40 HP to the drivetrain, that's 20%. But if you bolt on a blower and double the engine power to 400 HP it doesn't magically take 80 HP to turn the drivetrain now. It will still take the same 40 HP it took originally. The whole percentage thing started as a way for parts manufacturers to weasel out of their claimed power gain numbers when dynos showed their parts weren't producing the power they were supposed to. Your transmission does not get stickier when you mash the nitrous.
I've watched about 20 of your videos so far, since I discovered your channel a few days ago. Great stuff and awesome seeing a big MN yt Channel! Id love to have you do a coyote in my 2006 Mercury
I've got a 2000 Grand Marquis, NPI 4.6. I want to add power across the rev range, so I'm starting with TFS Twisted Wedge 44cc heads and Stainless Works long tube headers - the only ones I can find that fit my Panther. Other than the factory PI intake, I can't find anything for my rig that works with a driver-side intake. With your experience with the 4.6, what would you recommend?
I bought a 03 Mustang GT and the girl has a tune on it 373 gears and something done to the transmission and cold air intake with stock throttle body. I want to put a bbk throttle body on top it so just wondering what size I should go with
Loved the "DON'T do it like this" portion!! 😲😝😄 I've seen more of those in my lifetime... I'm a Retired Ford Line Tech and Engine Builder of 35+ years. So I'm glad that after seeing this, I can now run a Dyno!! 😋 I thoroughly enjoyed this, and your Shop! Being partially Disabled, there's too many things I can't do anymore. One is Rearends, which I used to be pretty good at... Just for grins, I'd like a rough estimate of how much it would be to do a Ring & Pinion, Auburn Posi Diff, Bearings and Seals on a 2001 Mustang GT. My parts... I'm asking because I'm stuck in Tucson, and my best estimate, for something I used to be able to do, is between $650 and $800! That CAN'T be right!!! 😤😖 It seems like it would be cheaper for me to drive to Minnesota, and have YOU do it! It can't be that much, can it? Carmine 🚂🚙
I'm going to find the rest of this, to see what she makes. I know to a lot of hardcore, old school guys, which I am one... The "little Mustang" is kind of a toy. Since owning mine, and doing the little bolt-on mods, for a purely Street Car, it's very impressive. Decent power (with the 5-Speed), drivable Torque, even though Kids can't seem to keep them on the road!! And that 4.6 2V has been a rock solid, dependable Motor! Ford only created problems for it when for whatever reason, on the Romeo built Engines, they thought that 2-1/2 threads to hold the Spark Plugs in the damn Heads!!! 😖 Oh, then in 04, they went to the 3V Heads, put them in the Mustangs, and for the first time - the 4.6 had reliability issues!! For an extra 40BHP... Still, try not to discount the 4.6 altogether. If you want something quick, that can also go 250,000-300,000, it's a great choice!
Power loss on a dyno is not a constant percentage that looses more power the more you make. A 200hp car with a 50hp loss is not going to lose 100hp if making 400hp level. Its going to keep that 50whp loss. Gale Banks talks about this during his appearance on The Smoking Tire Podcast from early this year.
I have a 98 GT automatic. It's nice: new Ebacs, new Konis front and rear , cai, FlowMasters, new show car paint, new, carpet, and staggered 18" Saleen wheels. I just did a sound quality audio system: all Stereo Integrity drivers with a Stereo Integrity 12 SQL sub, Audiocontrol 4 channel amp, Audiocontrol DSP, Audison mono block amp, Big 3 cable upgrade, SMD power/ ground distro blocks, and 3 boxes of sound deadner in the doors and trunk. I want to do this same Kenny Bell. But I have to install Pi heads, which is next. The Pi swap will increase the compression. I want to get the heads posted and polished, new springs, valves, and cams. Can anyone recommend cams for this set up? I'm not going to do the supercharger at the same time as the heads. So what cams can I run with added power but keeping the cams tailored to the KB down the road? I'm in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and I don't know who does this kind of work. Where is this guy located in the video?
Thanks for the excellent video. Did you put the LT’s and cam on? If so, is there a follow on video. I have an ‘02 GT with a manual trans and am especially interested.
the 4.6 2v needs stage 2 cmas, cold air, throttle body and plenum. The long tubes are worth another 15-20, but they are a pain in the butt to do. Add 373 gears for \more punch.
Bart if you read this I gotta ask you a question I ask all the time. How do you feel about daily driving a vehicle with a muffler delete? Good or bad for the vehicle?
I dunno about real numbers and hard data but it seems that as long as you dont mind the drone it won't hurt anything the stock exhaust manifold and cats should create enough back pressure to not burn valves /not that thats really going to happen anyways\ but take this with a grain of salt I'm just a backyard mechanic haha

Dino Dino Bambino thanks for that breakdown bro
Wow
Your information, did NOT take 30 minutes.
To much talking.
These mustangs sound awesome, but that 4.6 is just a dog. The only way to get real power is a ton of boost.
this man is the real deal had a whole lot of information just under 1min.
I have a 97 gt 5 speed with 82000 miles that I got from my late uncle and it has an x on the vin so I know its a winsor car im courently changing the headgaskets and other gaskets As Well. Wachting this video just motivates me even more to get it back and running so I can continue with the mods.
Mapp2004 I’m pretty sure the non pi engines were romeo engines

Bryant Roscoe there really ez to work on I have to p71 rebuilding them both built 4v swap Mercury Marauder intake going in one of them 2009 and a 2011
Billy Bojangles they can make good power. Built one over the years with 800 horsepower. Automatic trans

Great video Bart You did a great job with that Mustang
thanks, b
Hi-Tech MotorSport your welcome

Zack Summa just be honest you wanted the Cushman stage 2s! Good choice
I've had master certified Ford techs tell me pi intakes don't fail and it's a user installation that causes a leak so to each their own.
these guys built the motor for my buddys 65 mustang fastback.....did really great work. great video. subbed

You cant believe everything you hear....
I can’t wait to se u put them camshaft and header on that 2002 mustang gt

What up Bart? Big legendary.
That sound like something G squad would say ✊😁
Muffler delete, yes! Healthiest and sounds the best!
Excellent video. im just finishing up my 4.6 4v swap and was starting to worry about finding a good tuner until i heard you say "elk river". ive never been so glad i live in Blaine!
Wow, Bart, you're already at 8.4K! :D Awesome...
We have to get family cruising to Bart
I'd like to cruise to Bart too!!
Im happy to see more of your own style in these videos
Loved your video. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with me. Do you know someone in the Dallas Texas area that does the same level of work your shop does?
Texas Dyno Center in Arlington.
This was very informative. Thanks so much for taking the time to edit and share this.
Add a set of 38cc trick flow heads with what you have on the 02 Mustang, what kinda numbers would you expect??
Nice work on the video!! Thanks!!
Bart is the man
Good video. Well explained. You teach well.
Keep it coming Bart!!!
Very informative.. Thanks👍
Holy hell dude I love this video LOL "It's all nice stuff made by Chinese kids making $3 an hour" Plus very informative for folks who have never been to a dyno or understand AFR and Wheel HP vs Crank HP. Sure wish I had seen this about 12yrs ago.
Bart I see Corey's mate family cruising's blew his 1000hp hellcat, is the engine really able to sustain that much power?
Excellent footage Bart ☝
Nice video, easy to follow! Bart seems like he'd be a fun guy to work for. Subscribed.
What’s the purpose for the “speed bumps” in the intake? Why would the manufacturer want to slow down the air?
hoodey03 For fuel economy to please the government and epa
hoodey03. the factory cold air intake uses humps and bumps to cut down the booming and sucking sound for everyday use and for noise requirements. b
It also allows for flex and movement of the engine. When you apply torque to the drive-train the engine will twist, the rubber humps allow for this, among other reasons.
@@karlhopkins713 That wouldnt make gas mileage better. If the engine had to suck harder to pull in the same air
Great video Bart! Love u from Corey videos! Very informational! 🙌🏾💪🏾
Very informative information bart
If I brought you my 02 gt mustang show much would all of that cost plus installation
03 mustang gt convertible, bbk tuned length (shorty) heads, slp x pipe, slp loudmouth cat backs, sr cold air intake. I'd love to get a throttle body, plenum, and a tune. Hello from Bemidji, How much to tune my late grandmas 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 4.6 with catback new 2" duals?
What makes more sense dump a bunch of money into both on parts for my 4.6 or do A coyote swap?
Great video Bart!
Hey Bart I would like to see you review and put that lt1 car you have on the dyno

How’s it going
I have a 2006 crownvic police interceptor rated at 250hp and 297ft/lbs torque at the crankshaft so it must be underrated as well?

How much do dino Tunes costs? say like this one for that mustang?
Bart, your video and audio quality are awesome! What kind of camera are you using (make, model, etc.)?
just a go pro 5. b
Much better that American Muscle videos.
Great video!
Cool video. I learned something new about dyno's.
Can you tune my 2005 4.7 HO AWD 4door Dakota?
Price on the cams or link so i can order

Awesome video. What size is that BBK on the 02 Mustang?
He said so I can just watch and make fun of u. 😆 🤣 😂 also a perfect "thats what she said moment" lol
Very good video!! Lots of good info, awesome job man!
Hey Bart if I get your stage 1 cams for a 2010 crown vic would the stock stall converter still be ok🤔
Good vid man

I'm watching him dyno a mustang right now. Awesome place and bart seems like a great guy.
But, the difference under the curve 🙌🏻 That’s a whole lotta difference.
what are your thoughts on Vortec superchargers
The man BART
This 02 gt is hella clean! And has 44k miles on it....
Thanks for the excellent video. Did you put the LT’s and cam on? If so, is there a follow on video. I have an ‘02 GT with a manual trans and am especially interested.

What about 4.10 gears which is better for the 2v, 3.73 or 4.10
So did you test & tune on 87 octane, 91 octane, or ???
What up high tech motorsport
Great vid man have the same car
That’s actually a really good baseline for a 2valve 4.6 to bad it has a slush box
Great video! A little advice if you want it, try lowering your arm. I don’t know why tallguycarreviews does it.
Hello sir did you say not to do a pull with over driver off?
Call from who?😋
Great video.
Wouldn’t you lose some power due to the gear ratio
Bart if you read this I gotta ask you a question I ask all the time. How do you feel about daily driving a vehicle with a muffler delete? Good or bad for the vehicle?

Quality video!!!!
Awesome info!!! Great in depth review!!
is a blow-off valve needed for a procharger setup with 8 lbs of boost?
How much do your dynos run ?
Awesome I would love to bring my 2002 mustang GT to u it's a 5spd btw‼
U the man Bart big knowledge
Awesome video man. love to have you dyno my 01 gt : thumbs up
Yes Bart
great vid
Did u guys ever break the Yukon diff the guy on mustang lifestyle did so I switched to a ford racing
Cool vid!!
Damn good video bart.
