  • Look How Huge These 2 Loads Are! Most Awesome Special Train Ever On Short Line Railroad Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET. Locomotives at the front and rear of the train with extra high and wide loads. The train is seen in Mount Orab, Ohio and Sardinia, Ohio. Huge electrical transformers were shipped to Sardinia railroad wye for unloading. From there they will be taken to nearby solar panel farms. Hundreds of acres of farmland are being converted to solar panel farms. I live only a mile from a huge solar panel farm. The electric company has sent letters to my neighbours and me wanting to use our farms for these panels. The township that I live in has no zoning and the area where the panels are going is very rural. This video shows the train cross a few railroad crossings and I broke this up into 2 videos. We also see them shove the loads down the siding that leads to the Sardinia Wye. They were spotted inside the wye on the maintenance track. A couple years ago there was a similar shipment that was spotted here. Back in the Norfolk Southern days that track was used to ship out rip rap for shoring up erosion areas along the track and was used to store railroad bogies AKA trucks. Part 2 will be out soon and will show them at a couple of other railroad crossings and will show the train returning with the spacer flat cars that you see in this video. I just put out a #shorts video showing that train going over a railroad bridge. If you want more information about this railroad check out my Facebook group that I created called Cincinnati Eastern Railroad Fans.

I have mixed feelings about solar farms. Personally I would prefer seeing fertile farmland used for producing food, perhaps abandoned industrial spaces that are too contaminated for living or farming should be used for this? It’s good to keep working on energy independence, but we have to eat. Nice video!

I would rather have food that is grown in the soil, I kinda doubt solar panels would taste very good or provide any nutritional value. 😄😄

@@davidmihevc3990 The one advantage of the solar is it can be placed where Mother Nature has placed a steady wind all day long. The solar does not pollute (very much) but the turbine type have a short life of about 25 years and then they must replace the blades. The panels last longer. The big challenge is ensuring there is a usage for the electricity produced. I guess when all the electric cars are what people are driving they juice produced will have a place to go.

When the snow is piled up towards the curbs, there really isn't enough room to park but people do it anyway. We have 14 panels on the roof and they give us most all of the juice we need in the daytime, a real good investment even here in the North of England. The "spitter" valves that purge water from the air lines. When you compress air, the water vapour condenses out as liquid. You really don't want that getting into the brake cylinders, so there are valves at the low points of the air lines that open periodically and blow the water out.

Cool video man. Thanks for posting.
It doesn’t look like there’s a whole lot of ground clearance under those drop center cars. Maybe an inch or two? I wonder if the guy guarding the crossing is there to look out for high spots on the crossing, like on the boards they put between the rails, which wouldn’t bother an ordinary load but might snag on this one.
I also wonder, it looks like at about 11:30, did they pave over one leg of the wye? It looks like the rails just disappear when they get to the edge of the street you’re driving on.
Also thanks for holding out on selling your land. We need more land to stay agricultural. Let them put the solar panels somewhere else.

I would love to see how they lift the transformers from the railcars and put them in their final place.

Hmmm, not sure, but this looks like some loads I recently saw on WWoT. What are the odds that they may be? Love watching your videos, Jaw Tooth!

Neat video. I saw there’s another solar farm out off new market road. They are eating up a lot of farm land

Its putting a lot of farmers out of work. Most of the farmland out here is owned by people who don't live on it and they lease it out to the local farmers.

Interesting! What a cargo. How many tons would each of these transformers be?

Not sure but the max load of those cars is marked as a little over 200 tons.

Very cool. I used to work for a power company. I loved watching our big transformers getting transported by rail then truck/trailers. Hey rail fans ... look up Schnabel railcars. The transformer tank is part of the rail car! The power transformers can get so big they bolt parts of the railcar to the power transformer tank and the transformer becomes the railcar! I love this shot JT.

I saw them move one, 345kV, slid it off onto an ( I think it was an 18 axle truck multi directional) and it went a mile from the tracks to the substation, and I watched them in the substation and rolled it off into onto wood ties and lower it onto the massive concrete slab, amazing.

Bummer you weren't in Florida longer. You caught some cool stuff while you were there. A great capture here. This rail line is picking up all kinds of great short line work. As always, love the Live Animal Action footage. Glad Norfie came through her spaying surgery ok. It's a good move for her health and not making any babies you don't want or need.

How is it that in the US they have thousands of miles of unfenced live railroads but here in the UK just about every inch has to be severely fenced off???

    • @Harry-zz2oh
      @Harry-zz2oh 2 роки тому +1

Size of the country and the differences in the culture. Many of your roads are narrower than our roads and you use mass transit much more than we do. I also suspect the RR people got tired of having accidents/collisions with the trains so just fenced them off. Our RR's go across a lot of land with few people and fewer people crossings. Just my guesses.
