The rear section of this train was taken back to Osborne Yard in Louisville, Ky on the same day in the evening. On Thursday morning, August 10, 2023 at 10:23am these same cars passed through LaGrange, Ky on their way BACK to Cincinnati. See description for more interesting information!
That's one heck of a day - you did get to film a train and we did see the rescue crews at work on those two covered hoppers :) I appreciate your persistence - it pays off in excellent videos and we learn a lot as well.
M510 runs from Louisville KY to Detroit MI. The locos which rescued the consist were from L404 aka Run Around Sue. Ran light on this particular day through La Grange. 7 lead cars derailed.None of the locos were affected and the crew is okay. Excellent video.
You did a fine job covering the derailment JT! It was interesting all the way through! I like how Loki blends right into the floor there! 🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
I am sure I speak for a lot of people who enjoy your videos. Your efforts are much appreciated and thank you for what you do. Love the pups at the end! :)
Brian , Thanks for your professional reporting on the de-railment, And giving us the complete story. You made this a great rail day. love how you ran the streets , trying to get all different angles. Your effort is always good enough.
Despite the derailment this was still a really great video with trains in Covington on a very rainy day and great footage of your pets was really great to see,Thank You Jaw Tooth.🤠 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
Chelsie System box car is extremely rare these days! I remember seeing a Chessie System gondola on a siding outside of Pikeville, KY, this past spring. Remember thinking that I hadn't seen this for many years.
Hi Jaw Tooth! Happy Tuesday my friend! Great video! At least those derailed cars didn’t roll over causing a major environmental disaster or something Very cool seeing that old Chessie car it’s amazing how many fallen flag rolling stock are still out there in revenue service. Have a great day!
Great shots today. I have a good friend who once owned a company that cleaned up derailments. It seems we average about 1 derailment a year here in WCH...
One of the Locos was a slug, it has no motor, they get the electric for the traction motors from a Deisel powered Locomotive. You do good work, enjoy your videos
Well, what a day. Your persistence pays off for us, JT. Be sure to tell Chessie you saw her boxcar. I thought that place wasn't so bad of a place. Heck, I wish I had a place here like that to watch trains. I don't see why a slug would not count as a locomotive. It is doing the same thing. It might not be doing it the same way but it's pulling/pushing a train like the others.
Cool video. Nice seeing the old Chessie box car.Old Chessie caboose sitting at the the old flour mill in Highspire Pa. Chessie 2563 caboose. Flour mill has been closed for years.
What's up it's John from Cleveland. AS always great videos. I haven't seen a derailment in the Collinwood yard in a long time . But I will tell you I watch the container trains being put together and you can not believe how long they make them plenty of DPU 'S. Right now there is a carnival on CSX property I've never seen this before stay tuned THIS IS A FIRST I WONDER WHO IS PAYING THE INSURANCE
Man, they need to get their infrastructure in order around here. I personally know (or rather, used to) two different dudes that cashed out walkin' over the same crossing-- it was the CSX responsible for both. You're at a crossing, you're supposed to know when a train's there, but half the time the fuckers don't even sound off!
Good video coverage there Brian (Do you really thing that worker, red hat, on the right side was balancing the hopper train while getting it back on the track 😂). This maybe one of those time where it would be nice to have a drone to get some additional, excellent coverage (Bought a DJI 3 for my son and the video quality is amazing). I love how Danny Harmon integrate his drone footage into his videos, very cool! Just think, it might elevate you from unnecessarily climbing though a lot of weeds and tics to get that perfect shot! 😁
@@JawTooth Please don't give brian any idea's about drone's . That would be like bob dylan going from acoustic guitar to electric guitar, The whole train world would flip-flop.!!🎸🎸🎸Please Miss Jaw Tooth don"t buy JT a drone toy for christmas !!!
@@philipgreene8952totally disagree with you. I have seen a lot of very excellent videos with drones being used by railfans. At first they may not be as good, but once they get the hang of it those videos from a drone are many times far superior than any ground shots or video one can take. Having and using a drone really enhances many of the train videos I watch. And I'm sure Brian aka JawTooth would do a superior job with one, just as he does with his ground based photo/video work. And using a drone would only make these videos even better. Especially in areas where it's either difficult, or impossible to access from ground level. Video drones "improve" videos, not make them worse.
So when showing the derailed cars i assume this is after the 4 units took the rest of the train to Louisville? And the other end went on to Queensgate? wouldn't it of been easier to take the whole train on to Queensgate after the 2 cars are back on the tracks?
The closer to a junction or Mainline the more employees show up because you want to be around to defend yourself if someone starts saying it's your fault. I guess this time JT was right "What's the hurry" One has to love the look on Chessie knowing that she pawned off Lokie on Brandy for some wrassling
The GP 38 has no Prime Mover on board....it uses the power from other engines to power it's traction motors. It is also ballasted and helps with brakes. The only "blowers" are for the traction motors to stay cool. So, instead of just a 4 motor GP-40-3, when paired up to a slug, it becomes a 8 motor "Unit".
Looks like a picked point at the crossover. Unfortunately you can't use the 0-5-0 in the sky to set it right like in model railroading. Great coverage and love the radio chatter. Thanks JT!
Still good JT.. Gotta go with what ya got!! They probably would have gotten excited if you kinda walked down there for some close ups!! Ya think?? After the weeds, make sure you check for ticks!! LOL Thanks again man. Good video.
There must have been a lot of frustrated people in Covington, Kentucky who wanted to get on the other side of the CSX tracks before the two engines came to pull the train cars to clear the blocked crossings. The views of the work being done on the derailed covered hopper cars that you were able to give us were great, Jaw Tooth! The R. J. Corman Company workers certainly know what they need to do to re-rail the cars and they do their work as quickly and safely as they can do so.
Haven't seen a Chessie in a long time! Awesome catch!
It's really cool to see Brandi playing too! ❤❤😊😊😊

I appreciate that!
I like watching when there is a derailment. There precision and accuracy of how they work together getting everything back on track.

I was happy to see your brown dog. I was thinking it may have passed on. 🇺🇲 👍🏼
Love watching RJ Coreman work, like ants on sugar.

They should...... because all of these derailment specialist companies don't come cheap.
I love hearing that power up close and slow! Great catch JT! 😊😊😊😊

Thank you for the unfortunate loss today. Luckily, no one was injured. See you on the next! 😊
Covered that well. Better than any reporter.

No apologies needed We know you work hard to bring us all the action. Jaw Tooth is one of the best.
Nice coverage of that derailment JT! Great video!

Kool to see equipment at work restoring train action ...thx jt
Awesome catches and great video jaw tooth
This reminds me of that age old question, "how many does it take to replace a light bulb?" Lots of standing around...
Thank you, sir. You did a great job!
Glad it was helpful!

Well, two cars can block traffic as well as 100. RJ Corman crews and equipment are amazing. Those side lift cranes, who invented those?
Too bad they can’t get them back on the tracks as quickly as they came off the tracks! 😳 Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Hey JawTooth
Another great video

Good footage of CSX with RJ Corman cranes working to rerail the cars and Chessie boxcar!🛤🚂👍
