    FYI, Husky has discontinued the 45 gallon tote in these dimensions, so whatever might be found in Home Depot are the very last ones.

    Thanks guys for the review. We just got our first 3.0 and love it. Went to HomeDepot and picked up the Husky tote and as we were walking out of the store, the "Wife Unit" reminded me that we were driving HER car..a Mini Cooper Convertible. The Husky tote was almost as big as her car. Had to wait and bring the truck down to get it now. We have a 2511S Mini Lite.

    Hi, thanks for sharing . I bought a couple lextric bikes step throughs. I got two craftsman totes and got the bikes into our class c but our MH is small and it turns out that there’s not as much room as we thought to move around in the coach with these bikes in there. Took them back and ended up ordering swagman RV rated Ebike carrier for the hitch. Really wanted to keep them out of the weather but didn’t seem to work out for us. Thanks again for sharing.

    We bought the iconic "Black and Yellow" 50 gallon totes for our XP 3.0's just a couple days ago. They fit in those very well also with a little length to spare... a 45 gallon size would be perfect I think. I"ve seen vid's on YT where people have used the 40 gallon size and they do fit, but they hang over the edges a bit.

    We have Lectric XP 2.0 Step Over & Step Thru and we use the DeWalt 63Gal tool box for toting the bikes. I put one in the camper and one in the back of the pickup. The bikes are a bit of a hassle but they make a visit to the state park a lot more fun as we usually walk a few miles with our dogs, but you can see the whole park really quickly on these E-bikes. Great addition to camping.

      So I tried tote in Chevy Bolt but discovered that even with handlebars folded down and seat removed it was too high. So cheapness being the mother or invention, I simply bought a under bed storage tote at Walmart (62L for $33CDN.) It works perfect with XP folded, lying flat. Saved on installing to get a hitch & buying a heavy duty rack ($1800 vs $33!!!).

    Perfect video for me. Just received my Lectric XP 3.0 bike yesterday and transported it this morning for the first time, laying on its side, bungie-corded, in the back of my BMW X1. Like the idea of using a bin but wasn't sure of dimensions needed to accommodate. Like the snugger fit of the husky. Might be less moving around when it's being lifted into the back. We got two totes. Both were the husky $35 from home Depot. We got both kinds of the bikes as well and we use the foam as well in a failed attempt to keep the bikes from scratching themselves when folded. The step through is the most difficult to fold and remove the battery from. Kinda wish we had both gotten the XP. Even the middle handle is better on the XP.
    We can fit both totes side by side in the back of our Nissan Rogue. We can also get both bikes in the back of the wife's Nissan Leaf but it's definitely more difficult. The tote adds stability and easy handles though the edge is pretty sharp on those husky totes.

    Good job. I know the Craftsman bin has wheels on one end. Does the Husky? We haven't gotten our bins for storage yat. Here is a tip. As an interim I also saved my padding but I also saved my boxes. I took one box and cut it in half around the center to make two large trays. I will use these trays with the pads in the interim to transport the bikes until I obtain bins. Ride safe.

      Thanks and Thanks for watching! Yes, the Husky has wheels on one end as well. I have watched many YT vids on transporting in totes but discovered that my XP when folded was simply too high for our Chevy Bolt when stored ontop of our folded down back seats. So, I simply bought under bed storage tote and put my XP folded, laying down. It slides in and out super easy. I am trying to make a decision about this bike, because it is heavy, and whether I will be able to lift it into my vehicle on my own. Is Tina able to get the tote and bike into the RV by herself? I like the idea of the tote having wheels, but for moving it into an RV, now you have the weight of both the bike and the tote. It also seems easier to move in the box because you can both push and pull the smaller, more compact tote, instead of an upright bike. Maybe I can do it on my own with a ramp. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

    • @TNTRVing
      @TNTRVing  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching! I can get the bike into the tote on my own, but it’s takes two people to lift it into the RV because it is heavy. I like your idea of a ramp, if we had a ramp I would be able to maneuver it on my own because of the wheels. The tote itself is not that heavy, I do think the tote is sturdier than the box, but I’ve seen people using the box as well. Check out our video “Dry camping in Amish country” mid way through the video you can see how we store them in the RV. Safe travels!

      Unfortunately the bikes will not fit under the tonneau cover upright. I don’t have the dimensions off the top of my head. Here is a link to another video we made of how we travel with them in our RV. ua-cam.com/video/eKEz0INcwLw/v-deo.html
      Hope this helps…

      Also, handlebars and seat are very easy to remove, they have a lever clamp that hold them in.

      You can buy two and turn one upside down like two big clam shells then us reusable wire ties or velcro type in a roll at harbor freight to hold them together.

      @@davidveasey735 Hello, yes there is room to store the handlebars inside the bin. What we do is unfasten the handlebars from the clamp that secures them in the tube, pull them up and out, after we unlatch the handle bar lock mechanism and fold that down. As for the seat we unclamp it and push it all the way down…
