I remember once I had someone ask me for $20-$40 because she needed food for her kids. Then a week later she slipped up and told me that two days before requesting the money she and her daughters had gone to Longhorn…. Needless to say the was the LAST time I gave her cash. The next time I gave her food that she had to cook. She never asked me for money to get food again 😂

I just tell them to go apply for food stamps. Single mother with a buncha kids can get them easily so don't ask me for no food money.
10 lb bag of potatoes goes a long way (loaded baked, mashed, breakfast country, French fries, hash browns, steak fries, loaded fries, etc.).
A big bag a rice, onions, bell peppers, fresh spinach, beans, carton of eggs, oatmeal, big box of Bisquick (biscuits, waffles, pancakes, etc.). That’s what I would buy for a mother with kids. Nothing frozen - she has to create & cook.

Ms. Jackie made a lot of good points and not one lie was told. My grandmother use to watch me and when I was around two she started teaching me how to "cook". She would have me in the kitchen handing her spoons or bowls and let me stir things. By the time I was seven or eight I was able to do it on my own.
Yes my grandmother was the same. I was in the kitchen with her making biscuits from scratch and when my mom would say something she would tell her to leave me alone. I wish i knew how to cook like she did though. Everything she made was delicious.
