The date was going good until…… I locked myself out of the house while running late to 1st date.
Then on the 2nd date I locked myself out the house again.
Well we are married now so at least there is another person with a house 🔑 .

The date ( it was our first date) was going good until we left the restaurant and he was about to take me home. He stopped at a gas station. Came out with a Red Bull for him and a Gatorade for me.... Then asked if I wanted to go to a motel and hang out. A nice place he knew with hourly rates.......😒
I said, "No, take me home."
He promised he wouldn't try anything and we would just chill.
"No, take me home."
He then proceeded to swear he wouldn't try anything. And I mean SWEAR. He said, "I swear on the bible. I swear by my aunt who's an evangelist. I swear by my people, who WALKED THE TRAIL OF TEARS."
Lol I couldn't make this up y'all. He swore by a lot more stuff, I just can't remember it all. It's funny in hindsight, but back then I was freaking out inside because I was realizing this ninja was crazy! When he finished his monologue, I told him to go on and take me home. I was 19. From then on, I never again let a guy pick me up for a first date. Meet ups only!

@@marik6545 Thanks. If I had gone with him, who knows what might have happened? Whatever it was, it wouldn't have been good. Nobody INSISTS on going to a motel just to hang out. We can hang out at Starbucks! I really wanted to say a lot more to him, but I didn't know the full extent of his crazy lol. So I figured popping off wasn't the best choice at the moment.

Yes....from 16 to 19....there are a lot of horror stories 😳 in the dating/mating game of life. We could be here all night and never scratch the surface. Those were painful but necessary experiences that taught us and made us who we are today!

The date was going good until my date started to talk consistently on his cell phone. I got up; went to my car, drove off and never answered his phone calls. Ladies, always drive yourself to your first date.
We were headed to a fun beach day about an hour away. The date was going good until he stopped to pick up a hitchhiker then sped off while laughing just as the hitchhiker made it to the car. As someone who’d worked two jobs without a car, I thought that was the meanest thing ever. Never looked at him the same again.

That conversation had that poor baby SHOOK! Makes me think of a situation my dad found himself in when he was 15 or 16. It was my first date I was about 16yrs old and me, my crush, his best friend and my best friend went to the movies to see Krush Groove. The date was wonderful we ate popcorn & sodas until it was time to go home. We HAD NO MONEY TO GET BACK HOME!! He called his step dad to come pick us up. His step dad yelled at us ALL THE WAY HOME!! It was a 45 minute ride from the movies in Voorhees, NJ back to Camden, NJ. However his step dad gave me great advice: Never go out with a guy who can't pay your way back home ALWAYS keep money on you to get back home!! Leave these knuckle heads alone 😂😂That was my first & LAST date with him. I haven't seen him since he graduated high school in '85. 😳😂😀

I dated a guy, he was actually a small time rapper that I met at an industry party. This was NYC in the 90s. He jumped the turnstile at the subway station. He had no $. I did hang out with him that night. Can't remember if I paid for him to eat or anything... I told him at the end of the date, if you are going on a date, you don't have to pay for me, but you could at least pay for yourself!! Of course I'm grown now so that whole thing would have been 100% unacceptable today.

EJ's date reminded me of something that I witnessed in 7th grade. Every year, the High School allowed people to stand outside and watch everyone enter the Prom (kinda like a red carpet). This one girl came in a horse drawn carriage and had this beautiful princess gown. I was in awe! Her and her parents waited around for her date to meet her for what seemed like an eternity. Once the majority of the people had arrived, we left. That girl was still out there😔

One of the guys I had danced with saw me scoop my shoes, purse, jacket and head for the door. He left another woman on the dance floor came running after me hollering Wait you leaving. I said yeah. He said I'm going with you. I was so cool. Oh really he said yeah what car you got I'll go get mine. I said the yellow jaguar over there. I waited till he disappeared around the corner and booked in the opposite direction to my Delta 88 Oldsmobile and peeled out. He might still be waiting for that jag.

The date was going good until she got an emergency call from her eldest son saying the police was at the house cuz the two middle boys got into a fight and one grabbed a hot noodle pot and hit the other with it. My “The date was going good until” he got emotional about how much debt his ex left him in. Including the damage he had to pay for when she turned in the truck he leased her. Okay fine, dealt with that by being sympathetic and nodding. But when he asked me to help him with a $43 bill, I was done! Stick a fork in me because I had mentally checked out! I over tipped the waitress because it definitely wasn’t her fault I had accepted date with a brother that wasn’t ready to eat out let alone ask a woman in a date! I had met a guy on this social site Hi5 about 15 yrs ago. So out of sheer caution, I prefer to meet strangers in a well lit public place. First, thing was he kept saying he was on his way to meet me at a restaurant but didn't show up and I had to pick him up, so by the time we got back the restaurant was closed on that side of town. Then the bowling alley we were supposed to go to was closed.😒 Then he wants to go to the movies across town note I'm the one driving now because I had to end up picking him up and he lives a hour away. He was like an octopus in the theater and had a nerve to start talking about marriage on the first date. After I gave him that hug, good night, I never called, messaged or responded to a message from him again.
It's the octopus for me...that happened to me and I'm like what in the world is wrong with this man?

My story was me & my bestie decided to go on a date to see if we had any chemistry outside of just being friends.
Like EJ, we were still in high school. I just got a 1985 Buick Century, and she lived across town (we went to different schools, though we worked together). My dad had a stick up his rear and didn't want me going to the north side of town for some reason, so he took the radiator cap off my car & didn't tell me.
I got all the way to her house, picked her up, and we're at a drive-thru getting some food when my car starts overheating & white steam is billowing out of my engine. I pulled into the grocery store next door & parked, then open my hood to see all the antifreeze fluid has boiled out the radiator. So our "date" was over.
I walked her home because she didn't stay far from the grocery store/drive-thru restaurant we went to, then walked back to my car. I walked to a gas station, bought two jugs of antifreeze and went to the grocery store & bought about 7 gallons of water. I filled up my radiator and started driving back home.
Without the radiator cap and a now-warm engine, it overheated again in less than 2 miles. I had to pull over & let the car cool down. I was about 8 miles from my house. I had to keep driving, let the car nearly overheat, wait for the car to cool down, pour water in the radiator (I was out of antifreeze), & try again. A normal 15 minute trip took me almost 3 hours to get home. Needless to say, I was PISSED. Who TF does that to their child? Imagine if I got on the interstate & overheated with no store around. I'm glad I took surface streets.
Him & I argued good that night, but when my mom found out what he did, he had to take that "L." My bestie & I are still friends, but that is one story she won't let die.
EJ, I totally feel you. I guess you could say that mine was the worst 'almost date.' I was a high school student madly in love with a guy that worked at the neighborhood grocery store. We often flirted with one another whenever I went to the store, and believe me, I thought of many reasons why I needed to go to the store. We had been talking on the phone for a couple of weeks when he finally asked me out. However, when my Prince Charming arrived to pick me up, ANOTHER GIRL was in the front seat with him and his COUSIN was in the back seat as my date. I was totally humiliated, but I played it off as if I knew that was the plan. His cousin and I eventually ended up boyfriend and girlfriend until I went off to college.

It wasn't a date for me but apparently was for him. He was supposed to be helping me move. We only knew each other a few weeks at this point. Dude starts planning our wedding in the drive thru line and then had his card decline for less than a $20 meal. Later ended up hitting my head on the U-Haul. Never spoke to him again.

Conversation is cool then he asked me if I had ever been to a sweep. Im not proud I say I have never heard of a sweep plz explain. He proceeds to say, " You know a sweep a hotel sweep." Being petty I said are you saying "sweep" as in sweep the floor? Because I have only been to a "suite". You're not going to impress me with the offer of a hotel "suite" because I have stayed at some of the nicest hotels on my own dime. So wrong card. My senior prom was a DISASTER!!! He lied about have a ride for us. So we were crammed the backseat of my friend's small Honda. He had on a dingy white dress shirt. He did not know how to dance. Every time I would bend over to back that a$$ up, he would thrust so hard that I almost feel over. Then when we went to dinner (we went to Denny's) he ordered the most food and when the check came, he looked me dead in my face and told me he didn't have any money. We ended up leaving him there. Worst prom date EVER!!!
TGI Friday's; Arlington, TX-1998-the date was going good until I asked her if she could leave a dollar or two for the tip since I was paying for our meal and it ended up costing all the cash I had. She quickly got an attitude and said "you the man, you supposed to pay for EVERYTHING"

18 yrs old, in college, met an older guy. On our second date, we were having a great time at a restaurant, talking and laughing then he put his fork down and looked at me real serious and said, "How am I going to explain you to my friends." shook his head and chuckled. "You're too young to even go dancing with us." And was waiting for me to answer. What am I supposed to do about my age?? I couldn't take him seriously after that and he got mad when I wanted to break it off. Idiot.

Definitely! I was on a date a long time ago, and I was having cramps. Instead of canceling, I went through with it but brought some Midol with me.
Well, after being out for hours, the cramps had resurfaced. So I went to try and be sly and open the bottle under the table and take some when he is not looking or goes to the bathroom.
He caught me. And instead of asking me "Hey, are you alright?" You know, so I could just say I "have a headache, " and keep it moving but this guy SNATCHES the Midol bottle from out of my hand and is like "What are you take ????" I was so startled and embarrassed (I was about 18).
He looked at the label and said "Oh." And half throws it back at me.
Needless to say, I asked for the bill and called it off.
No corsage, the boy buys the corsage. 😵💫😲😳. I enjoy you two together. This for the laughter 🙂💖🤣🤣 & tears 😱😭
