Better grab a drink and a snack, this is a long one... This requested a bunch of times and while it goes against everything I preach about shorter being better when it comes to content, I hope this doesn't bore too many of you. I did have fun answering these questions and to everyone who asked a question that I didn't get to I apologize but if you guys enjoy this type content I will be sure to do more of it in the future!

Loved it. UA-cam is the only flying I get to do anymore...former low time private from many years ago and drone commercial for a bit...I just get to watch now. Longer the better. Former Air Force avionics maintenance, electrical engineer computer Comms person, flying bring a view of all that together for me like nothing else. Visiting with you...(and yes, your reading the questions and talking about those topics feels to me like you could be letting me sit in on a hanger flying session or around the campfire session with the cowboys...hell, I might even go out on the yard and pick up some debris...inspiring.
Anyway. Don't worry about too long...if you feel like there is nothing different going for a while, stick it in time laps and let 'er rip.
Thanks for taking the time, trouble and expense to bring us along. Bringing your cinematic approach is a real treat.
      See ya!

Trent: "We're over an hour long, which is ridiculous, so if you've made it this far you're a legend".

Obviously it took me ten days to finally find the time to watch this video, but I knew I would enjoy it. I lived at Cold Springs just west of the Stead airport, also lived in Reno, Truckee, and Income Village (Incline). I worked line service at Reno International Airport in the mid 70's. Many great memories exploring that part of the world and I love seeing it again in these videos. Of course I watched the whole video because we have similar interests.

Hey Trent, I made it through the entire video with no problem. I really enjoyed it. I've been watching your videos for years now and I've always been impressed with not only the quality of them but more important, I think, is the information and advice you dispense is very accurate. I am saying this based on my flying experience of 55+ years in 119 different aircraft, including float planes, helicopters and gliders. The past 47 years I have lived in Reno and have flown out of Stead. The advice you give to people wanting to learn to fly, buy an airplane, be a bush pilot, how to fly safely, etc. is spot on. The kind of flying you do is not for everyone, just as flying in general is not for everyone but, like most things in life, one has to decide the level of risk one is willing to take and the best way to mitigate that risk whatever their endeavor may be. So, just to reiterate, I think what your videos do for the world of aviation is outstanding! Thank you!

I think it's great when a pilot with a great audience does one of these videos. Very informative and well done. Under .5% percent of the US population has a pilots license, the other 99.5 are all mostly curious lol. So thank you, Trent.

32:35 ???The first line of 91.119 states "Except when necessary for takeoff or landing, no person may operate an aircraft below the following altitudes:" If you were invited there and were attempting to make a landing, I don't see what the problem is. Typically I would avoid long flight videos. This is because most don't have the learned talent you spoke about towards the start of this video; that being, becoming comfortable with talking in your videos. Far too many don't do as you and Tucker do, keep the entertainment going while heading to the destination and conclusion of the video. Great job. On a second note - I don't always have time to watch long videos. Doing just as you've done with using multiple intros to your videos, multiple length videos leaning towards short ones I believe will work well. Nice job Trent. Oh and almost forgot, those who do long voiceless flight videos also seem to think constant engine audio is ok. Really like that you keep that minimal to none and have the low volume music playing while you talk.

Made it to the end! Just shows the value of conversation :) On the topic of 'how to get into aviation on a budget' I confess I was absolutely dead set at one point in my life to take up bushplane style flying, BUT, budget and the UK basically not being appropriate for that forced a change - I took a flexwing trial flight and was hooked! Financially, if bushplanes are equivalent to owning and running race car, flexwings can be the equivalent of a decent sized used car. You are still flying, but get amazing views, and don't need quite the level of disposable income. Try it before you discount it, and if you do try it and aren't hooked, fair enough!

Trent, I just watched your 64 minute vid and enjoyed it tremendously. I learned to fly while in the Army at Ft. Knox in 1969-1970. There was a flying club at the Army airfield and they had 5 Cessna 150's. Rental was $35/hour wet. I haven't flown since 1980 due to having married and starting a family. Now, at 77 and retired, I get my airborne fix vicariously and your channel is my fav. I always look forward to your next posting and, no, your full flight vid was anything but boring. Please tender my best regards to your lovely wife. You are truly blessed.

Trent, you are one of the reasons why my wife and I have endeavored to build our own airplane, a Christavia Mk1. You once said, "Life is too short to eat dessert last." I have embraced that mantra and have passed it on to others. I have since completed ground school and sat for the FAA written exam, and my wife is currently going through ground school. We hope to begin flying next spring. No matter the length of your videos, I watch them all and watch them to the end. Stay safe and keep doing what you're doing.

Hey Trent I made it to the end. Yes I really enjoyed it. So you know I'm not a pilot and don't have a air plane. I took a two hour flying course. The first hour was classroom and walk around with getting familiar with the instrument panel with a instructor many years ago. Oh and what makes the plane go up and down round and round. I got to taxi all over the airport with tower permission. Talk on the radio to tower. Instructor telling me what to say. After taking of the instructor let me have the controls to fly anywhere I wanted. I soon learned I got lost up there. Found a freeway and followed it back making turns till I found the airport. The instructor landed the plane and he let me taxi back to the barn. Now 67 years old I watch your video's flying around here and there. Peace.

    Hi Trent,
I normally don't watch this long of a video but being one of yours I gave it a chance. I really liked the video with you answering the questions In combination with the flying. I did watch the entire video. That is great that Nick is able to build panels for Kit Fox. That takes a lot of knowledge, experience, and patience to get it right as well as an extremely clean look. Who knows, maybe he will be able to get his aircraft parts at cost. He can always just do a little building an hour at a time, with it just taking a little longer for the finished product.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Take care,
    Be safe.

Yep, I made it all the way to the legend section. Score! Interesting questions. As a Piper Pacer owner, thanks for the shout out! It is a very under appreciated airplane, along with the Tri-Pacer! They are the “Rodney Dangerfield of aviation” because they never get any respect!!!

No Trent, your Longest video was not Too Long, you were able to cover many things that I would have never thought of with answering all your questions that were asked by your fellow experimental pilots/owners and like me -hopefully soon to be one. Thank you for making everything look real and achievable. Thanks
    Tim of Barbaraandtim fame.

Made it to the end, I liked the Q&A format you used and found it very informative. While this wasn’t your typical video it was a fun and very scenic departure. You fly over some beautiful country.

No problem making it to the end. Great information and great visual terrain. (My DJI Inspire One was lacking customer support, an expensive hobby not a business. Wind made the Inspire the necessary choice 6 years ago.)

Trent, you have some very profound insights for those who are looking at flying.
My father learned to fly on a GI bill after WW II; one of his favorite stores was the winter he qualified on skies. He always said no matter how hard you pushed on the brake it did no good.
    Made It!

I like it. Nice to relax and watch. I also was a skier in highschool. And your right it was way cheaper and easier to just hit the mountain and clip in back in the day. I was way into dirt bikes for awhile. Then into wakeboarding and boats for a bit but always wanted to fly. Got into rc planes first. Then fpv. My wife bought me a discovery flight a few years back and now I'm halfway through my commercial rating. My goal is Backcountry Bush flying. Alaska is also on the list too. Been enjoying your vids from the get go. Thank you!

Thanks for the great content. I liked the fact that you also showed us an approach/location that you didn't like including the choice to not push when you didn't feel it.

Made it to the end and enjoyed it ! You should do this type of video every month or two or maybe like four times a year. It realy helps to get a sense of what"s been happening in your world.

Watched to the end. Once again, an amazing video! I got hooked on flying as a teen when a fellow county fair exhibitor asked my girlfriend and myself if we would like to up with him. He flew us around the Spokane area and over my farm. It was really cool to see it from the air. That was 53 years ago and I still get chills of excitement when I think about it. Thank you for sharing with us.

Have you looked at Glulam's, Engineered wooden I-beams or composite trusses for your hanger ?? They may be cheaper than steel to use unless the building code won't allow them for an aircraft hanger application.
