My Berta fish is 4 and is still alive but recently he doesn't really move around much, I hope I can keep him with me a little longer
The one way to make sure it's female is a egg spot on her underside next to her pooper, it will look like an ick spot. Only females carry this spot! I thought mine had ick, turns out she was a girl. P.s she was labeled as a male. Her name is Deborah she is a beast. She is bigger than most of my males I own. I have 7 betta's altogether. One is a bettas simorum green spot. He is such a funny Lil guy. Well he isn't lil. He is a massive 6 inches, which is big for his breed.
The description is incorrect. It says female Bettas never have long fins, but this is incorrect. Some females have long fins and a main way to tell gender in a Betta is an egg spot. Near the Bettas fins on the bottom side of their body {near the face} there will be a small white circular thing if your Betta is female. Called an egg sac. ((:
9.9/10 female bettas have short fins, it's just a quick and easy way to tell but should use the method to confirm its gender.
Ok an over way is to see if you find a weird bubble thing on her neck then it’s 100% a female

Someone please tell me... What does "Adult" means? Does it means my Betta is 1 year old, or 2 years old? What is "Adult" for Betta?

I had my betta for just about a year now and he is about 2/5 inches... I'm pretty sure he stopped growing awhile back now but I'm not so sure anymore. Is it regular or is it something I should worry about?

My little Archie is the runt x3 he's so cute and silly tho. He is an adult but he's only about 2 inches long
So sad when they get old... I have 2. One is 3 years old and the other is nearly 6! The older one looks great... only he has go the cloudy eyes. Can you get Betta reading glasses to help him find the food lol?

I just got a betta, and I don't know if he's young or just small. He as about 1 inch and a half long. I haven't seen him flare yet, even when I introduced him in his community tank with other fish. He isn't aggressive at all. My amano shrimps are more agressive than him. I tried putting a mirror in front of him to make him flare and see if he was a delta or an halfmoon, and he wouldn't do it. He just staired at his reflection a few seconds and then went away. Maybe he's just too smart. He has long flowy fins and bright colors. Can someone tell me if he's old or not?
Holo Unicorn Don't worry. He's probably young. My first fish was SUPER small when I got him. He was even a little faded, but no signs of old age. He had to be the youngest in the shop, so maybe that happened to you. You're lucky he/she called to you. Now you might have a longer time with it.

A lot of inaccuracies and partial truths, this could easily steer a budding hobbyist in the wrong direction.
mine is about 2 inc.....sometimes when mating it can expand to 6.5 inc...its eye is good no cataract...move quite fast to food and snack..and swim only breast stroke in big pool...color is a bit tan....

I have a male veiltail. He is 2 inches and I think he is close to being an adult at this point. My little brother has a baby female veiltail and it's pretty clear to see what a baby veiltail. Looks like

me i tried to reproduce an old beta femmelle and a young male and the baby was in perfect shape and in perfect condition and live around 4 years..............
I had a beta fish for 4 years and it was perfect and it died 2016 now both son are good but one of the son killed the brother of his so now only one living
