@Rosa Barks Right. Except in the video he wasn't saying RDR1 has the most realistic shooting in gaming just that he feels it's more realistic than RDR2.
@Rosa Barks Are you even reading my comments, man ? I said the video's narrator stated RDR1 has more realistic gunplay than RDR2 (his words not mine) NOT that it has the most realistic gun play ever. What fucking hill ? I'm not even saying the things you're claiming I'm saying.
RDR is easily my all-time favorite game. Graphics, story, the music (!!!!!!!), sound effects, total immersion. @gameranx nailed it stating that the game is slightly less realistic but ends up being more fun compared to RDR2 and I completely agree. Some of the mechanics in RDR2 are a little too deep to make it casually enjoyable. (having to pet/feed your horse, changing your clothes based on climate/location.. etc) Stuff like that takes you out of the moment and is a distraction.
A masterpiece. They took their time with dialogue too, no rushing, a ton of emotions in silence and expressions. Plus multiplayer was super fun until it was hacked to oblivion.
Dunno about that, I've been playing the multiplayer recently on the ps3 and i haven't found many hackers around. Plus, the game still has tons of people playing it.
One of my favorite games, it made me realize that video games could be something else beyond fun. With story telling delivering messages with meanings making you contemplate about life. RDR is easily one of the best games of all time.
I played the game on my old ps3 for the first time this year, and even though the graphics are obviously dated, I was amazed at how this game was ahead of it's time. Such a good game! Enjoyed it a lot!
Played it on Xbox series x the upgrade minus still 30fps is amazing. Considering rockstar was original thinking of remastering it until the gta trilogy disaster, this is the best way to play it outside of pc emu
@starscream6629 it would be cool if it had a proper remake. Every remake should stride for Mafia 1 and Dead Space. Those are true remakes. Especially DeadSpace. It kept the story but added new features. Dialogue. Changed certain scenes for a better perspective. The new "peel" machanic Added side missions. Side characters got some more attention. It added a lot. Any REMAKE needs to put in that effort and time.
I remember renting this game constantly from our local video store (back when they were still around) and playing it for HOURS on end. Later down the road when I got a job this was one of the first games I bought with my own money. Still have the original copy to this day. Xbox 360. Red dead 2 is my most favourite game of all time. I've spent nearly 12000 hours on it. If that doesn't scream addicted I don't know what does
I dont think so, its probably nostalgia. And rdr2 was a bit slow because of realistic animations but in everything else it is either as good or better, and to prevent the fact that rdr2 is after rdr1 from making me give it points unfairly . Lets lesve.realism aside. In terms of combat i dont know so i will give it to rdr1, in terms of the story i think its rdr2. Rdr1 story is good but rdr2 has a vastly better one in my opinion. And in terms of the open world experience overall. Rdr2 is better but rdr1 is great for its time. And it probably has an open world experience like rdr2 for its time so its a draw. I agree this comparison is not thorough but i dont wanna delve into the very details. So after all. While rdr1 may not be inferior for its time, its definitely not superior
Now that my kids are grown, I finally have the PS3 all to myself to circle back and play all the things I’ve missed. I’m playing RDR for the first time and it’s a super good game. I can’t believe how awesome this was for the time. Now I want to find a ps4 so I can play RDR2!

I've finished RDR like two weeks ago. Did not have a chance to do it before. At first I expected a western version GTA, but as You said, it is different enough to be a unique game. The open world here is just perfect size, not too big but big enough to spend there hours. And the voice acting is on point. For me it was more fun than GTAV and as good as Vice City.

I loved this game n remember going all out to do every side mission n just enjoying the atmosphere of the Wild West hell with even got me into watching old westerns 😂. I been really skeptical on getting 2 bc they say it way too overly realistic & having kids now it’s difficult to invest time into learning game mechanics like that when your looking for something a bit more fun & simplistic to get into when you don’t have a lot of gaming time on your hands
I played like 20% of RDR1 before I stopped playing for whatever reason but i picked up RDR2 yesterday and I'm really invested in the story so far and i love that it's a prequel to 1 so i don't feel like I'm missing anything. Gonna go ahead a replay 1 when I'm done with RDR2
The gunplay was a really big deal. It was fluid and felt really natural. Also, the way AI reacted to being shot was realistic. If you shot someone in the foot, they would limp rather than just absorb the bullet and continue as normal.
The first one was better than the second one I'm sorry I know that might sound like blasphemy to some, I really enjoyed the storyline better on the first one.
I love how when it comes to rockstar games, people can't just say "hey i loved this game because it was (reason its good)". instead they goes "hey i liked this game, and (a newer version of this game/sequel) sucks because its not (the older version that he likes) but i need to mention it just because".
@@ididntmeantoshootthatvietn5012 No, it needs to be mentioned because everyone is assuming that RDR2 improves on RDR1 in every aspect which is false. The replayability for Cyberpunk is one of the most pathetic things about the game. The whole point is to experience different lifestyles and create your own unique person, and they demolished every bit of that.
My cyberpunk on pc is fine I've only had 2 glitches in 10 hours and none of them slowed the game Down
@@haunteddreams7856 Glitches aren't the problem. At least that's not what anyone in this post is talking about.
Not even gonna lie boys I cried just a little at the end of rd2
lol dood i cried at the mission toward the end of RDR2 where you're riding your horse through the mountains with the Native American chief and Arthur starts talking about how he doesn't think he'll ever be able to be forgiven for all of the shit he did. I never expected a video game to literally make me cry and feel like I was actually getting therapy for shit that was bothering me. I was blown away. I don't know if I'll ever play a game with such an emotionally charged story.
Only real men cried 😤💯
Arthur's last ride from Van Horn with that music will never be duplicated in a video game EVER. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
Everyone whose soul is still intact was emotionally struck by that game. Even the actor who played Dutch said in an interview he was brought to tears while performing his parts at the end of RDR2
What is a rd2?
Probably the best game I've ever played. All time classic.

@Rosa Barks Exceptions aren't rules.
@Rosa Barks Yes, he was just comparing RDR1 to RDR2 not to every game ever, hence him saying "more realistic" rather than "most realistic".
Just replayed the first RDR, it's as good as how i remembered it
A true reality classic. I hope everyone is all doing well.
RDR is one of those amazing games I will never forget playing my first time through, it’s just a damn fine story.

Short answer: All the famous Wild West movies packed into a video game
The beauty of R* games are, you can play any game at any time without feeling that it's an old game.

I remember watching my friend playing this in 2010 and thinking to myself "there's no way this is any fun, there aren't even any machine guns". I bought it a year later and I dont ever remember a time I was more wrong about a game. suchhhh a good game
The story was immaculate. Such a far cry from the juvenile narratives of the GTA series.
GTA IV had a great story
I couldn't even finish RDR2, which was so tedious. But RDR is a masterpiece.
I did a tattoo of this game, RDR1 to me is the best game that ive played.
i did it too bro. mine had a horse and this was my favorite tattoo and my favorite game until I played Witcher 3 and got a new tattoo with Geralt and Roach. Now that's my favorite tattoo but I'll always remember RDR#1
I have Arthur's Gambler hat tattoo as he passes that on to John in RDR2. Signifies both great characters and stories for me!
Back story of every character from rdr2 made rdr even better ❤️
And some RDR2 characters would be much worse without RDR1 to back them up, like John Marston, who was massively downgraded as a character in RDR2.
I'm playing it for the first time, and it's so good!
Red dead redemption. In it's entirety. Should be bigger than GTA. It deserves sooo much more. The graphics. The mechanics. The gameplay. The story. Everything. Red dead 2 is my most favourite game of all time. I've spent nearly 12000 hours on it. If that doesn't scream addicted I don't know what does
Max Payne 3 is one of my favorite action games, incredibly underrated!
I also think it has one of the best names in the gaming industry. It rolls of the tongue so well imo. Can be shortened to into a great nickname.
Personally, this game is far superior to RDR2 and Rockstar’s greatest game ever made.
Yes i agree, according to many opinions both game is impressive
Agree.
RDR 2 is good but not on the level of RDR 1. John Marston will always be the OG of the Redemption arc.
Nah man total disagree. When finished RDR my thoughts were "hey that was pretty fun." At the end of RDR2 my thoughts were "Wow, speechless."
Imo rdr2 is their best game

The gunplay was a really big deal. It was fluid and felt really natural. Also, the way AI reacted to being shot was realistic. If you shot someone in the foot, they would limp rather than just absorb the bullet and continue as normal.
Yep. Rdr2 messed up with the controls, gunplay and ragdolls

It's perfectly fine to say that things were done better in RDR1 so that people can know what RDR2 actually improved and what it made worse.
