I get that but honestly I will never complain about a game being developed for awhile. Do you want your Tes coming out looking like Starfield or the games that have been releasing? Look at Skyrim and how short they fell on some stuff despite having a good amount of time to work on it. Take your time but you better deliver because with your recent mess ups, you can't afford to mess up your saving grace is my thoughts to Bethesda
I did an escape room over the weekend and it was thieves guild themed. As a massive elder scrolls fan imagine my surprise when I unlocked a cabinet to find a massive map of Tamriel and later had to use a compass to find distances between cities in the regions to get a lock combination. Was awesome
First quest, collect 10 potatoes. You go crouch, steal 10 potatoes from the very same quest giver, but you cannot deliver because [stolen] item tag, and the NPC is able to identify they were their potato because serial number carved on the potatoes.
That would make for a thriving unique potato collection market, it would also mean a crash for the potato collection market because of the rampant forgeries. Thus leading potatoes being total garbage and would be ignored, even as a food source! Thus leading to wildspread famine! Seriously who would eat a fake potato?

@@simplyc9428 Yup, I agree, Looking at how the last few games of Bethesda turned out {fallout and starfield} I really fear that TES6 will be a let down again, Its going to be very hard to top BG3
Yup no excitement here looking more forward to Skywind. TES6 will be procedural generated boring crap and play like assassins creed just with different skill progression but the quests and exploration will be as shitty as there.
ES6 will do away with most of the skills and you will be able to choose from four new exciting skills to level up: Attack. Defense, Magic, Stealth. Simpler is better, man.
Starfield, for all its flaws, did have lots of skills to develop. They did take a step back in the right direction, at least when it comes to skills and features.
With how low the bar for RPGs is today, I wouldn't count on that. Most modern RPGs are basically action games with some RPG elements like skill trees and character customisation. Skyrim was a borderline RPG. No stats, no requirement for spells/weapons, no choices storywise... But that's what normies want nowdays.
I just started playing Skyrim yesterday. It’s pretty dope, all modern games are trash and I hate them all. I agree, a remaster of this game would be amazing.
After the mid Starfield and seeing what happened to Dragon Age (I know, diff dev) my hopes kinda burned. Buuuuut, this might be a wake up call for them... let's pray for the best and prepare for the worst.
I also have some ideas about the new Bethesda game: 1. They will use procedural generation exactly like in Starfield to save time and effort and increase profit margin, just without investing into what makes good games actually good - heart and soul. 2. Like in Starfield they will make an endless grind out of quests, also without heart and soul. 3. The game will be filled with bugs and Bethesda will tell players that those are features. 4. The game will be priced at around 80 $ 5. People will be upset with Bethesda for repeating the same formula for their games over and over again, without innovating. 6. Todd Howard wont like this and he will blame the players for being too demanding.
I was just beginning my career when Skyrim came out. Now I'm married, have a child, have had major surgery and been through a pandemic. And this game is still at least 2-3 years away. Simply ridiculous.
@@debbiegilmour6171 Dear Lord. They're not doing us a favor, they're a business and we're customers. We don't owe them anything, they want our money and are selling a product to get it. Releasing a game every 5 years is doing themselves a favour. Releasing ES6 nearly a generation after ES5 is crazy.
I’d honestly love that too; to be able to play as a Dwemer or even a snow elf, but that would require Bethesda to go back in time to even pre ESO (bc pretty sure events of eso are before Morrowind but please correct me if I’m wrong) and with the way the trend with how they proceed with time, each game is a few hundred years apart, progressing forward in time, I don’t see it happening.
Emil wrote the Dark Brotherhood faction storyline in Oblivion, which had marginally better writing than the rest of the game (which imo was all pretty mediocre). He clearly can write if he's given something smaller and compact to work with, he's just atrocious as the lead writer.
5 Most important changes: - actually good melee combat - better build diversity and rpg mechanics - focus on hand crafted exploration, immersion and fun traversal systems (look at BotW or Dragon's Dogma. have boats, horses, flying mounts, limited quick travel) - *no loading screens* - player agency in quests
Ngl a game with dragons dogmas gameplay elden ring enemy variety bethesdas world building bg3 level of decision making and writing and sprinkled in with some kirkbride drug trip esoteric lore and story motif set in high rock and hammerfell would be the ultimate fantasy game and great comeback for bethesda but in reality what we're getting is vanilla skyrim with a new coat of paint in a different setting with very slight tweaks to mechanics most likely

That moment you realize that the time it takes to make a game doesn’t always equal high quality. They might be taking so long not because they want to get it right but because they’re struggling
Yea. This game should be a license to print money. Either they think they are onto a game that we will play for 20 years, or they are struggling. Why else would they just ignore time value of money?
They haven't been working on it at all. Another TES game would have been competition for ESO. So, they made two fallout games and Starfield because Zenimax, then MS, obviously wanted some live service stuff. Probably just started TES 6 last year.
My gut feeling is that TES 6 is going to be an undertaking that Bethesda can't handle. I don't think they have the means nor talent any longer to make a game of the level that TES 6 needs to be

I don’t see how it couldn’t be. I genuinely think that ES6 will be great. Perfect or fantastic? Debatable. I still feel like Elder Scrolls is pretty hard to mess up as badly as Starfield atp. I don’t think it can get any worse than Starfield.
It’s not anymore and hasn’t been for a while. Fallout 4 was a shooter and so is Starfield. The actual RPGing is going away more with each release. I think ES6 will just be a Hack and Slash button mash madness and projectile magic based system, dumb uninventive and totally soulless. Emil’s twisting of the “Keep it simple, stupid” saying keeps ringing in my head and it makes me sick.
They will get rid of the Stamina/mana bar too. Only three perk trees. Now you can only wear a helmet and armor. No boots/gauntlets and they use the same excuse like in skyrim and say its because of clipping so that they can make better looking armor. All named npcs immortal again. 95% quests are AI made fetch quests and dungeons are procedural generated too.
@@_Luluko_ wouldnt surprise me honestly. Three skill trees, warrior mage stealth. Endless procedural fetch quests, no real choice in dialogue, story takes place after a major event we have no part in and see no consequence of, story events play out independently of player choice, NPCs are unkillable and dumb, no reaction and no immersion. Sounds exactly like the kind of game Bethesda would make nowadays. But oh it seems we have freaking BOAT BUILDING to look forward to, to explore the endless AI generated islands they’ll put in the map, all looking exactly the same.
Doesn’t matter how great people think this game gonna be. If Bethesda can’t modernize their mechanics, meaning get rid of unnecessary loading screens and update graphics/gameplay this game will be just as bad as starfield. Bethesda’s problem is, they are stuck in the year 2011 because of their success from skyrim and they think they don’t need to change anything.
Not completely disagreeing but you are comparing two completely different genres of games. It’s clear Bethesda does better in the fantasy genre than the space genre so how exactly do you know for sure ES6 will be “terrible”? I’m pretty sure that not everyone cares about loading screens and graphics as much as you think.
Having a full blown underwater area like a fully explorable ocean or something like that, would make playing an Argonian that much more fun and would make water breathing a worthwhile spell to learn or use.
Skyrim is amazing, I never played that type of game, but when I played Skyrim few months ago for first time and I felt exhausted but when I understood it I'm blown away, I played it for over 120 hours and i gotta say that music, that world, side stories, main stories, dragon fights all spells, shouts, weapons, armours all..... I loved it, cared about it so much. Never played something like that before, I had to watch so much tutorial to play the game. And for Next Elder Scrolls, I hope that game is huge as Skyrim with no ai script as this seems the future going forward, it'd be pretty noticable.
Wish I could go back and play for the first time, I play it every year and start a new character every year with a different build. Truly is a masterpiece.

I'm worried this game is gonna be a huge letdown given Bethesda's recent releases. There's no way this game can live up to the hype thats been building for 13 years(to the date) and counting.
It won't. In recent interview one of the devs said it won't live up to expectations. The fact that they learned very little from modders over the past 13 years was visible to see in Starfield.
The setting is likely both Hammerfell and Highrock because Bethesda dropped a hint about it in Starfield's trailer. There's an etching in the wall that is the outline of both regions as well as the isle of Stros Mkai to the south.
Part of being an adult is constantly realizing that your favorite franchises have probably already peaked. I’ve held out for elder scrolls 6 since I finished Skyrim for the first time in 2012 after stumbling into it from my older brother. It really defined a chunk of my childhood. It’s been three years since I’ve played any video games at all. I’m married, have a good career, and I’ve always said es6 would be the game to pull be back in. I’m realizing that the elder scrolls story has most likely peaked as it falls victim to corporation. Corporations suck the soul out of everything, and that’s exactly how I define the flaws of these newer Bethesda titles- especially Starfield. Soulless. It’s also what made Bethesda, Bethesda. Morrowind never had the best combat, best graphics, had no voice acting, but it had the story and cultural context that gave it a soul. Bethesda bottled something with Morrowind that has slowly seeped out more with each game they have produced.
"Now adorably all digital" that's one way to say we removed part of the value of the base model and are prepping you for a future where you can't own games or use physical media.
In my opinion, I'd rather just get the oblivion remake that's been leaked because at least i know the writing and characters in that game are solid. I dont have a lot of faith after starfield and its dlc, for this current set of writers at bethesda to give me memorable and iconic characters we had all the way up until skyrim. The last well written character they made, imo was Nick Valentine from falllout 4... and that game is basically 10 years old. Its a different era of writers and developers so i really hope i'm wrong, but now that we have seen statements made by alot of the higher ups already going on record saying TES VI will dissapoimt it really speaks volumes.
I can’t think of a single memorable companion in Skyrim except Serana, honestly. I think Fallout 4 had the best companions, but Starfield’s were good too.
I really hope they don’t try and focus on graphics instead of gameplay. It the game released and had the same graphics of Skyrim remastered but was good gameplay wise I wouldn’t mind.
You and this video's creator are pathetic. Name me one other open world game that has built a map as big as Blackreach. Even Elden Ring doesn't have that big of an underground map. At least criticise fairly
I feel like most of these 'leaks' are too creative for Bethesda right now, they could do it big but it will meaningless. They haven't taken an ounce of criticism for starfield seriously and I genuinely dont have any hype for this game(this is coming from someone that spent 100s of hours in skyrim) .
Yep, and for me personally the whole lack of creativity of modern Bethesda is saddening, cause their old concept artist Adam Adamowicz, the guy who made the skyrim and fallout 3 looks was just amazing, i have his concepts as my desktop wallpaper for YEARS now and it's one of my main sources of inspiration, every week i take a break to just go through his artworks... And then now the whoever wannabe concept artists Bethesda has on their team are mediocre at best... just check out what the hell are those characters from their latest DLC thing for Starfield, they are generic real life 'wannabe alternative' dudes and girls with a modern real life generic social clothing underneath a plastic bag, like??? Is that all they could come up for a SPACE CULT???
Don't expect to hear shit until it's completed guys. Bethesda is well know for releasing its official trailer only 3 months before launch. They've done this many times before and it's a refreshing feeling when it does occur as you see what's coming and then you're not left waiting for a year or 2 to get the final product that's been displayed
My question is: who are they making this game for? Because most of their fan base came for elder scrolls from us (pretty much in our 30's now)? Because by the time we get the next update, we'll be 80
One major jump I can see is the dialogue system. As dubious as AI is, the dialogue mod for Skyrim already opens up a lot of potential. If ES6 can have consenting voice actors who read important lines but have dynamically generated ones too, the reductive dialogue wheel that Bethesda has tried since Fallout 4 may be a thing of the past. The player may one day be able to say what they actually want to say HOW they'd actually say it, and not get shoehorned in by limited pre-set dialogue options
That's the facet of AI I'm actually excited about for the future. Imagine you're playing an RPG, and you encounter an NPC that implements an advanced AI system. You're able to converse with them, talking about whatever the hell you want to in the game world, and the AI responds realistically based on the information the NPC character should know (they would have no idea what a cellphone is, for example). You could even get more creative, and have NPCs from different regions in the game world have more knowledge about specific topics or events based on where they're from. AI doesn't give me much hope for the future, but this one possible aspect of it does excite me.
@@daizenmarcuriowhy 2028???!! That seems ridiculous. To drop a teaser trailer in 2018 just to the release the game 10 years later is absolutely insane. They need to release this game no later than 2026.

@@americantitan2190 that’s sickening. I know Bethesda likes to take their time, but it is starting to get to a point where people just don’t give a rats ass anymore if they drop it or not. At least with companies like rockstar, they gave us bits and pieces here and there on when GTA 6 was coming. It’s unacceptable that it’s taking this long. Maybe if they were to drop another teaser or so that would help get everyone’s interest back into it.
I think procedural generation should be more of a developer tool, at least for this kind of game. Like lets say they set it up great and then generate the landscape, however many caves/dungeons, which would save time and then use all that time saved to go back over those generated world space to make them unique and more hand crafted. Not like starfield had where they made 15 landmarks and were like ok thats good, now just generate them on 1000 different generated planets
There has been a big improvement in the exploration of planet's surfaces in Starfield that I do not think that reviewers have noticed. When you get to the end of the square that you landed in then instead of being told you cannot travel any further, you can just carry on and enter the next square. This change would enable Bethesda to implement a game like Daggerfall using this game engine where if you walk or ride far enough then you can reach a destination hundreds of miles away.
Imagine if Starfield was just a tech demo to see how far they could push the engine before scoping it back to just one planet for Elder Scrolls 6: Nirn. Given this might be Tod's last Elder Scrolls and the technology available in Starfield, going out with a bang like this to make the ultimate Elder Scrolls game would be fucking wild. It would have the potential to up the antique from Skyrim and the technology is very much possible. Imagine the engine on a whole planet. If Stafield could *run* THAT many planets, imagine how well it would thrive with just the one?
and regarding all the Hammerfell leaks, this could be a clever marketing misdirect where they "accidently" leak detaiils of just *one* province, so the mystery of a whole planet is kept intact? I mean people gonna focus on *which* province it takes place in as opposed to *how many* provinces there's going to be
and with regards to procedural generation, maybe they're dialing it back like they did between Daggerfell and Morrowind. Like I imagine you would want a lot of AI-driven NPCS's to fill out the bulk of NPCs that aren't Main Quest/Guild or Followers throughout all of Nirn. So a large bulk of the NPCs could be procedurally generated. Procedural generation works when done *tastefully*. Like in Oblivion where they used it for the base landscape before polishing it, or they could use it to generate random faces and names for procedural NPCs - with the faces being randomized from the character creation menu and the names from a database of lore-appropriate names for each race
Starfield was so ridiculously instanced that I hope they scale Elder Scrolls VI DOWN and handcraft most of it. Here's hoping it won't be the loading screen simulator Starfield was.
I think , Bethesda will ''De-Valve'' it, meaning they will drop it suddenly when you start thinking it's never gonna be released. It happened to me with Starfield. When you '' Valve '' it, though, you just ''never release it'' , ever. but people still think it will.
I played Skyrim the day it came out in November 2011 when I was 11. Was obsessed with ES franchise for years and it eventually supplanted my early childhood Star Wars obsession with fantasy, with ES at the forefront. This game would have to truly be groundbreaking for anyone like me to be interested in it. I look at content like this in the hopes that I will hear something that I never expected about the game but I never really expect to hear it. The game at this point would need to be truly revolutionary, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
4:00 An underwater world would make Argonians and water breathing enchantments actually important. Also give a bit of an Atlantis/Dwarf disappearance plot line potential vibe...
Hammerfell didn't sign its own treaty. The Thalmor wanted parts of Hammerfell to be given to them, they refused and just chose to keep fighting on their own without the empire's aid.
With procedural generation, they could go full Tamriel. Determine the shape and borders of biomes, pro-gen the general environment, curate and tailor with terraforming and building the cities. Have a different team work on each region and build the world that way. Each city can be hand built, like they are in starfield. My biggest concern is that Bethesda will release TESVI and it’s quality won’t equate to how long we had to wait for the next instalment.
I think the problem with procedural generation in starfield was its scope. They spread themselves thin with 1000 planets where they should have done 100
200 max. I agree. Also I think I'm tired of the fallout 4 legendary system, tho if you can enchant legendary weapons, then maybe it can stay. But es6 definitely needs more unique looking uniques.
Starfield released on Game Pass, too... Which means they're not going to put in the effort. Bethesda/Microsoft is banking on the name alone to sell copies. The glory days of Bethesda are gone. Thank the gods for Larian and Owlcat.
Elder scrolls is always making great changes between games i love the change for oblivion were they took away mark/recall levitate spears throwing weapons guilds being mad at you for helping there rival guilds. i love the great changes from oblivion to skyrim were they took away acrobatics we didnt need that anyways. I also like that they nerfed back pedaling with a bow it was super fun for me but we need balance in our offline single player games. Also attribute points were way to confusing just picking hitpoints mana or stamina is a way better system. and athletics being taken away was a great idea why would i want to run faster than the default speed and its good for realism because in real life if you run all the time you never get any faster
Are we really still saying things like "..will probably be the biggest ..insert game genre...of the decade" before any game is released in 2024? Yes of course we'd all like it to be amazing and it may well turn out to be amazing, but wasn't the exact same thing said about starfield and God knows how many other games? Don't believe the hype believe what is actually in front of your eyes when it arrives
I think a cool approach to procedural generation would be to have "islands" of authored content, surrounded by procedural terrain. Then you can select the expanse of the world when you start the game. A story-run would have minimal proc-gen, while an Explorer setting would set procgen to max for that run. Of course, this assumes that Bethesda are willing to let you make choices that lock you out of other choices, like a normal RPG, rather than the one-character-can-do-it-all mindset they prefer.

There was something incredibly special about playing that game in the cold wintertime, wrapped up indoors, whilst having a window open to feel the cold night air on my face, to mimic what I was playing in the game. Such incredible memories with Skyrim.

Yup no excitement here looking more forward to Skywind. TES6 will be procedural generated boring crap and play like assassins creed just with different skill progression but the quests and exploration will be as shitty as there.
Bethesda, one request... PLEASE, stop watering down your game, it's an RPG, stop removing skills and features with every new Elder Scrolls game.
They soft reboot with each game, Skyrim was so loved why would they change? Maybe Skyrim isn't so good like people say
That will not happen. They have become too commercial and have to appeal to the normal gamers.

Part of being an adult is constantly realizing that your favorite franchises have probably already peaked.

Hey thanks we appreciate you!
My question is: who are they making this game for? Because most of their fan base came for elder scrolls from us (pretty much in our 30's now)? Because by the time we get the next update, we'll be 80
Exactly, their audience has grown up and moved on. Skyrim is a part of my childhood, one I don't want tainted by a modern bethesda game.
11:48 imagine getting jumped by three wolves and someone comes up and murders you
One major jump I can see is the dialogue system.

Oh boy, im sure watching this is an excellent idea for my mental health!
Ah I see a day one purchaser still coping with how bad Bethesda has become. Good luck bud.
Starfield was so ridiculously instanced that I hope they scale Elder Scrolls VI DOWN and handcraft most of it. Here's hoping it won't be the loading screen simulator Starfield was.
What's that smell in sensing here? Oh, that's right. COPIUM
If it ever comes out, I’ll be going in with low expectations so maybe it won’t disappoint me as much.

4:00 An underwater world would make Argonians and water breathing enchantments actually important. Also give a bit of an Atlantis/Dwarf disappearance plot line potential vibe...
I've been dying for Elder Scrolls 6 news. Thanks!
Hammerfell didn't sign its own treaty. The Thalmor wanted parts of Hammerfell to be given to them, they refused and just chose to keep fighting on their own without the empire's aid.
You don’t remember the 2nd Treaty of Stros M’kai?
They shouldve done 5 with hand crafted worlds
When you said it had been six years since that ES6 teaser, that hit hard.
Happy 13th Anniversary to the release of Skyrim 😢
Are we really still saying things like "..will probably be the biggest ..insert game genre...of the decade" before any game is released in 2024? Yes of course we'd all like it to be amazing and it may well turn out to be amazing, but wasn't the exact same thing said about starfield and God knows how many other games? Don't believe the hype believe what is actually in front of your eyes when it arrives
I’m so glad Bethesda understands how important the lore is to this IP. It is its single highest priority. I wish Amazon understood this with LotR.
Can't wait to play it on my PS9

i’ve been waiting for this game since i finished skyrim when i was 15. i will continue to wait and hope that bethesda doesn’t fuck it up
10:36 😂😂😂same engine I've heard enough
I'm an old man now and it sucks
I think a cool approach to procedural generation would be to have "islands" of authored content, surrounded by procedural terrain. Then you can select the expanse of the world when you start the game. A story-run would have minimal proc-gen, while an Explorer setting would set procgen to max for that run. Of course, this assumes that Bethesda are willing to let you make choices that lock you out of other choices, like a normal RPG, rather than the one-character-can-do-it-all mindset they prefer.
I’m going to be playing this with my son by the time this comes out.
Can't wait to create a character Redguard Jim.

'Grandpa have you heard of this new game called The Elder Scrolls 6?' *Me in 2071*: 'Take a seat my child.' 😂
I played this game in my 20's. I'm now 40. My wife, cause that's how f**kin' long it's been since ES5; and I have resigned ourselves to never playing this game. I'm not buying a new game console at 46yrs old.
Never to old to game my man hobbies are life
@allmight8127 Oh, no... that's not what I'm saying. Currently we have NES, SNES, Gamecube, PS2, Wii and XboxOne actively hooked up, with 360° and PS4 on standby. I'm a gamer, and I married one.
We're just not buying anymore new systems. My opinion, it's all been downhill since 8th, or probably 7th Gen.
Considering who's producing and writing it, it's gonna be boring and frustrating and not worth playing. It's a shame.
Oblivion and Skyrim were two of my favourite childhood games. Can't wait to introduce Elder Scrolls 6 to my children
Been waiting for too long 😢

It will proably be trash. Don't pre-order. Wait for reviews.
