About the famous myth that in fascist italy trains were never late, that is basically a meme now. In a book written by one that study that period, he said that was forbidden 🚫 by law for a train 🚆 to be late, so every time there was a delay the italian railways administration constantly retroactively changed all the trains schedules, so not a single delay was going to get registered.
For everybody who tries this in 4/2024! if you have problems to reach over the needed 60% for "His holiness" you can skip the focus "Conspiarcy of the Shadows" right after "Undermine the douche" just dont do it and move on to Monarchy and then if you finished "Seek papal support" + "Agents of the church" + "Strengthen the papacy" + "Disband the blackshirts" (including doing the decions that comes with the focususes) then you can do "Conspiarcy of the Shadows" as last focus to push over the 60% Threshold. Might be sketchy and not intended :D but its better than waiting a Year.
Actually Paradox trying to portray Pius XII as a warlike pope is, crazy as it is, even more insanely ahistorical than the Adam Hilt/Señor Hilter event. Wish they'd have put some random fictional pope instead, considering also that Pius XII's election happened a little after the starting date of the game anyway.
I think they've patched it. The focus ''seek papal support'' now sets the balance of power to 0, instead of leaving it at like 50. Because of that, I can't get the pope in charge anymore. Help?!
another way to do this is to complete the focus "Utilize the Blackshirts" as well as "Foreign Affairs" and then hire the advisor named "Gian Galeazzo Ciano"
Looks like the latest patch broke the Papalstates, after reaching 60 towards the pope, it still doesnt trigger the pope taking control. Used all of the tools to gain support for him.

@@deepblume6611 I always go back to Monarchist Portugal as I believe it is one of the first op "meme" paths that they made. It's fairly solid if not a bit slow compared to other, newer paths that annex large amounts of land. You then get war goals on south America but sadly can't do much with it without the USA intervening. And after a few leader buffs it just stops. They should've made it so that you'd also get some goals in Africa and in Asia, try to rebuild the Empire and whatnot.

great content as always, love your vids, keep up the good work. I tried this run and there might be an even faster run. Keeping most of the strategy same, doing Balkan Ambitions unlocks a decision to give Yugo an ultimatum and they usually accept to be our puppet (If not instant war goal) (As a bonus you can also do the Albanian focus to get them early as well) So i just wait for the French and Czech guarantees to go away and send the ultimatum. If they refuse you enter the Yugo/Romanian war much earlier, if they accept they become your puppet and now you wait for the justification to finish up on Turkey and declare to get Romania involved. The Time For War focus will finish up around Turkish Justification so Bulgaria and Greece can be dealt with same as your strategy by declaring instantly after Romania finishes. A tip for players struggling to break Romania, You can declare on Bulgaria after Time for War focus finishes and take them before declaring on Turkey. Bulgarian border will be much easier to break than the Yugo border for Romania and will be a much longer frontline to manage. (You only need to call Yugo to take Bulgaria, Romania will still man the borders at Yugo front, weaking the Bulgarian front.) Please tell if i messed up or missed anything. Thanks everyone and may YOUR God be with you in your battles to come.
So, I've tried doing the Papal run 3 times now and every time I get stuck on the 60% Balance of Power mechanic. I use up all the decisions and focuses and yet can never go over the 60% threshold. Has this been nerfed already? The pope never takes over. Your Yugo and Romania tip is quite handy for my current run. BTW I am monarchist now and can't justify on Turkey anymore since world tension is at 15%. Any ideas? Should I start again? I've waited this time with the justification to finish it on time before Germany declares on Poland but I flipped to Monarchist too quickly and lost the Fascist low cost justification ability.
@@ViktorEnns last patch update nerfed it, for the first couple of days you were able to rush to the Pope very quickly because the balance of power was not resetting to neutral after you change the fasicm council with his holiness. Now because it resets, the decisions you do only takes the balance to 60%. I've found that that given enough time (not sure exactly how much) one of the decisions pops up again and that way you ascend Pope to power.
I am glad they just went full meme with the hidden papal states, they knew there was no way to even make it fit a weird alternative history and just ran wild with it.
