The land was given to Ethiopia because in historical Ethiopia takes the "board the train" focus and even if capitules they still survive in the allies, so when you push from the allies territory you just liberate their land. You should've probably tried to ask control of eritrea when it was still french.

Played as the soviets and had it happen, you get a scripted peace as soon as you capitulate Iran, and get a white peace with the faction they're in. In my case they joined the axis so i had to justify and declare again on Germany. I think it's only meant for Iran or Iran + Allies, but it's bugged so far
You have the option to conditionally surrender now, which allows you to give some of your land or stuff instead of fully capitulating. Played Ethiopia and did the revolutions and the UK accepted pretty much the full independence of africa in exchange for keeping the Suez Canal. It's pretty much the Limited Conflict but the AI is just too dumb to use it and end up white peacing randomly sometimes

It's probably a bug or random occurrence in game... but Canada really developed its ship building capacity during both WWs. As a comparatively safe port to build in, the UK help fund some massive dock refits and expansions in WW1. Then in WW2, a combination of private investment and government stimulus doubled down on those docks, leading to some impressive production numbers for a 'minor' nation.
Did a multiplayer match 2 days ago when Italy pulled out of Ethiopia completely. So I was playing Aussa and someone else playing Ethiopia. Since the start of the Match Ethiopia was threatening me. So I put all my units in my capital and held off against Ethiopia. Even with Russian air volunteers. The Ethiopia was so mad he rage quit.
Pls do Austria, the new impassable terrain makes it an easier country, also if you turn of historical There is an event where the Italians give you guns and trucks.

But stacking defense bonuses, entrenchment in my office corp and focus tree as well as traits and generals lead to 7 elite aussa. Units killing well over half a million Italians before WW2 simply by letting then cycle charge me. After pushing them out of Eritrea Ethiopia decided to go invade me, but my bonuses and elite units made it an easy snack
Danakil might be one of the harshest places in the world. Heard it's scorching hot, seen pictures of it caked in sulfur fields, flat cracked desert ground, mountains, etc.
Why no frontline and attack plan for the planning bonus? Still manual control but +%% attack and breakthrough is worth it, same as when you're attacking when they are for the multiple combat penalty.
I think the next Hoi4 update could be artillery or infantry or anti-tank artillery, anti-aircraft artillery I think or other but I see this Blood Alone DLC already OP!!!😅😅
I find playing Communist China the most fun currently in Hoi4 (I might be masochist but never mind that) but on the newest patch I just can't seem to make the nation work. In earlier patches, I could almost always beat Japan but I just practiced and redid the run over and over again to better my time, as it always took me too long to beat Japan in my opinion. This patch though, I can't do anything. Japan pushes so hard that my line either barely holds their full force or they eat half of China before I even get to take a bite out of Manchuria. Could you do a guide, as your previous one is quite old now?

Im new to hoi4 and got the base game only when it was on sale some weeks ago. Apart from playing the game i also looked at the different commands. I found 2 different commands for research. So if you use the research all command, it seems, some kind of hidden technologies are researched instantly too. But now i don't know what to do with them. I just wanted an ultra tech country but now i don't whats the best tech, also because i have no idea about for example bike divisions or amphibious tanks. Are they listed somewhere so i can find out which is best and what to use it for? E. g. there are two typed of trains and i dont know if can use them in the same way
So, there's a few "hidden" techs that come with focus trees. Japan usually gets the bicycle divisions, and a few different nations can get cruiser submarines. Amphibious tanks aren't hidden, but a lot of janky stuff happens because of how new dlc's interact with the game's old tech so I'm not sure what you mean. Also, I'm guessing you mean the difference between the war austerity train and the normal civilian train? Both are the same, except that you can produce more of the war austerity train because it has a lower production cost. However, if you mean the armored train vs regular train the armored has a better chance to survive enemy logistics striking but at a higher production cost. Hope this helps!
You actually don't want Ethiopia to go to Sweden. Sweden will apply to join the allies via event and Germany takes out Scandinavia through Denmark, with Ethiopia still in the allies

I'm annoyed that countries like the USSR don't get immense buffs to irregulars and militias. They have national focuses and decisions specifically referring to both forms of troops, but give buffs to territorial defence, and to intelligence services. I want low supply drain irregulars fucking up German columns, damnit.
Fun fact: Aussa / Afar started as a desert. The Italian casualties slowly built it up to a hill and now its a mountainside.
