- Horn of africa nations can make militia or irregular infantry and for the most part they are overall kinda rubbish. HOWEVER if you have national focus bonus for them they can be stacked SUPER high. Kinda crazy that a africa tribesman with a ww1 rifle can do so much damage. Also unlimited manpower from ideological loyalty is OP in hoi4 by blood alone. PEAK hearts of iron 4 by blood alone.

I'd honestly be surprised if it got nerfed. Assuming you had access to it at 1936 and only played till 45 you'd only accumulate 234,000 manpower. Not insignificant but I don't see how it's a threat to a major power. Italy is just.. Italy lol

There is a bug where you split your transport planes and get 400 manpower out of nowhere, then you can do that infinitely while paused and get tens of thousands of manpower

Yeah, Soviets whitepeacing. Seen this too, after a really good trade of 6 millions soviets lost to 10 millions germans they've just whitepeaced for no reason.
Ironic because in the latter part of the war Stalin was absolutely terrified of the Allies making a separate peace with Germany...so clearly the thing to do is make your own separate peace first I guess
Played as the soviets and had it happen, you get a scripted peace as soon as you capitulate Iran, and get a white peace with the faction they're in. In my case they joined the axis so i had to justify and declare again on Germany. I think it's only meant for Iran or Iran + Allies, but it's bugged so far
You have the option to conditionally surrender now, which allows you to give some of your land or stuff instead of fully capitulating. Played Ethiopia and did the revolutions and the UK accepted pretty much the full independence of africa in exchange for keeping the Suez Canal. It's pretty much the Limited Conflict but the AI is just too dumb to use it and end up white peacing randomly sometimes

@@flickerdart even more itonic considering Stalin was there to witness previous case of separate peace aka the one that pulled Russia from WWI and was one of the main point of the divide between Bolsheviks and other parties(that's also the reason why many call Lenin a german spy/puppet), but also resulted in Russian Cuvil War, Polish-Soviet War, war with Baltic states and had taken away an order of magnitude more lives of russian, polish, ukranian and so on people, then simply continuing the WWI for a few months would have had.
He was unable to critique that decision as he was the head of the party that made it and among the people, who was there, but he sure did remember how it all turned out:D
The land was given to Ethiopia because in historical Ethiopia takes the "board the train" focus and even if capitules they still survive in the allies, so when you push from the allies territory you just liberate their land. You should've probably tried to ask control of eritrea when it was still french.

I was playing as Soviets and chose not to bring UK into Iran and had them capitulate days after they joined axis...which peaced me out of the entire war as I was nearing Berlin(mission times out). Pretty sure that's why as many have suggested this.

It's probably a bug or random occurrence in game... but Canada really developed its ship building capacity during both WWs. As a comparatively safe port to build in, the UK help fund some massive dock refits and expansions in WW1. Then in WW2, a combination of private investment and government stimulus doubled down on those docks, leading to some impressive production numbers for a 'minor' nation.

You say you have to capture the railway line to the south or it's all over but my first playthrough of Aussa I didn't do that and still held indefinitely.
Did a multiplayer match 2 days ago when Italy pulled out of Ethiopia completely. So I was playing Aussa and someone else playing Ethiopia. Since the start of the Match Ethiopia was threatening me. So I put all my units in my capital and held off against Ethiopia. Even with Russian air volunteers. The Ethiopia was so mad he rage quit.
This was in Regina Empire wasnt it? I don’t know if I know the exact game but I think I was sitting on Switzerland at the time.

I know there's support companies that raise the reliability of vehicles, but they also allow you to salvage enemy equipment.
But they need support equipment.
What if there was some way for an irregular force like this to steal enemy equipment without those companies?

I have no problem with them focusing on flavor. The game desperately needs flavor. Making the eastern front an even bigger mess is not the path to go

I found that playing as Aussa I could declare on Ethiopia who's in the Allies and none of the Allies would join the conflict letting me annex them (I was unaligned tho)

In my playthrough as aussa day of release, Ethiopia won white peaced Italy which meant the Italians focused me 100%. But stacking defense bonuses, entrenchment in my office corp and focus tree as well as traits and generals lead to 7 elite aussa. Units killing well over half a million Italians before WW2 simply by letting then cycle charge me. After pushing them out of Eritrea Ethiopia decided to go invade me, but my bonuses and elite units made it an easy snack

Hello! I dont mean to necro, but would you mind explaining to me why you have 2 officers hired for 2 separate troops there? one with 1 single division and another with 9, i'm pretty new to this game and am quite a bit lost about most of the combat mechanics, still learning, i appreciate it!

Why no frontline and attack plan for the planning bonus? Still manual control but +%% attack and breakthrough is worth it, same as when you're attacking when they are for the multiple combat penalty.

Im new to hoi4 and got the base game only when it was on sale some weeks ago. Apart from playing the game i also looked at the different commands. I found 2 different commands for research. So if you use the research all command, it seems, some kind of hidden technologies are researched instantly too. But now i don't know what to do with them. I just wanted an ultra tech country but now i don't whats the best tech, also because i have no idea about for example bike divisions or amphibious tanks. Are they listed somewhere so i can find out which is best and what to use it for? E. g. there are two typed of trains and i dont know if can use them in the same way
So, there's a few "hidden" techs that come with focus trees. Japan usually gets the bicycle divisions, and a few different nations can get cruiser submarines. Amphibious tanks aren't hidden, but a lot of janky stuff happens because of how new dlc's interact with the game's old tech so I'm not sure what you mean. Also, I'm guessing you mean the difference between the war austerity train and the normal civilian train? Both are the same, except that you can produce more of the war austerity train because it has a lower production cost. However, if you mean the armored train vs regular train the armored has a better chance to survive enemy logistics striking but at a higher production cost. Hope this helps!

Really hoping that the return territory thing was a bug or something because I really want to fix border gore when it occurs.
It was a mistake he made, you have to select the nation you're giving the land to in the list on the right, then you can use your points to give them land. I've done this to give smaller puppets parts of their neighbours or to fix border gore plenty so far.

I think the white peace thing was a bug where Iran would join Axis and then white peace in an event, I think it was fixed in a patch.

While I certainly enjoyed this video a great deal, I believe it is false advertising in the title, since you changed rifle production to second tier, took everyone else's lend leases, and in the end of the video you showed the more modern weapons still in circulation in your armies (as far as I could tell).
That aside, great video.
Secondary, a question because I have been out of the loop of the officer corps and other major updates to gameplay, does the ideological officer upgrade for manpower have a fascist equivalent or are you damned to get it from communism only?
Third, a final question, are irregulars available to all nations or only specific nations? I have always like the idea of sword toting close quarters soldiers since I saw a mod for expanded cultural weapons and China had those big swords alongside their rifles.
I always enjoy your content and use them as guides when they still apply versionwise, despite being exceedingly fast paced in explanations.
Only commie countries can get that free manpower, but worry not, you can get free manpower from an exploit anyway, I did it in my last video.
As for the irregulars, only some countries can get em, I think that u can get them if u puppet some of those countries tho

I find playing Communist China the most fun currently in Hoi4 (I might be masochist but never mind that) but on the newest patch I just can't seem to make the nation work.
In earlier patches, I could almost always beat Japan but I just practiced and redid the run over and over again to better my time, as it always took me too long to beat Japan in my opinion. This patch though, I can't do anything. Japan pushes so hard that my line either barely holds their full force or they eat half of China before I even get to take a bite out of Manchuria.
Could you do a guide, as your previous one is quite old now?
