Except textures, framerate, controls and cut levels.
@@J0rdan912 texture filter can be turned off in options menu, frame rate is choppy and controls are great if you use left dpad for movement and the joystick for aiming!

@@J0rdan912 It is the ONLY console FPS in existence that gave players ((all beit as developer code)) a way to fiddle with the graphics settings. By default it wins out over even present day FPS games :/.

You should've specify where is original Quake (1996) and where is Remastered Quake (2021). There is remastered Quake for windows too..
The Saturn version was a real tour de force for the system 👍

@user-sc5ft5jp9y Yes, Q1 port was developed by Lobotomy and based on Saturn version, but never released. Q2 was made by Hammerhead on their own impressive engine.
Loved it on Saturn. Played quite a lot of it on N64 too. Love Aubrey Hodges' soundtrack for N64. The original soundtrack is of course incredible but Hodges did another amazing job (he did the score for Doom on PlayStation and N64.)
Such amazing graphics for its time.
The Saturn version is the most impressive, given the system was never originally meant for 3D in the first place and Doom ran like Hell on the thing, due to Carmack forcing software rendering.
Switch run on 1080p and 60pfs is dream but if i was back than so n64

Btw if anyone is wondering the versions which have high poly count weapons/models and SSAO are from Quake 1 re-realses (2021) using the NIghtDie Studio's Kex Engine overlay on top of/injected into the old Quake 1 engine.

And they have local multiplayer
PC (windows) has the same version of quake as the new consoles, and he didn't use it. PC can run this game at 4k 120fps as well as the 9th gen consoles.

I have it on Saturn. Its very rough looking and can run like crap, but man I still have fun playing it. It brings me back to my childhood of playing console fps games.
N64 version looks like it's being played on an emulator. Colors are nice tho.

DarkPlaces with Quake 1.5 is the best
It’s good but I beat it on both the remaster and dark places but it felt more complete as the remastered. Dark Places did add a bunch of extra graphics options that didn’t really add anything. Felt out of place.

OMG Nintendo 64 win.
Ever since I was a kid I have disliked colored lighting. I feel like it's used wayyyy too much in the games that use it to the point where it feels like I'm watching those silly Batman movies with Mr freeze. The N64 is a perfect example. To me. I probably stand alone here.
