    thank you! my car sat for awhile because of a leaking PS pressure line. finally did it and i forgot my heater didnt work at idle. a little low on coolant but it was leaking once i topped it off. i just had all that crap out because doing that PS line is a pain in the butt. atleast i know how to do it now. just gotta find the OEM number. definitely not using a dorman part for that.

    I just want to thank you. I did this same job yesterday and did the install today. took almost all day to find this video. But once I found it. it made the job way easier. at first I thought it was that top freeze plug thing also then after watching your video I tore into it and sure enough the plastic was broke on the top edge and the rubber gasket had failed just like yours did. so Job done Wife is happy and she has 304.000 miles on our 2008 focus. going strong still. so far no leaks. thanks again. The part was 34.99 at Auto zone.

    Would a bad water outlet also cause pressure leak from under the radiator?

    • @TheGAutomotiveAndMore
      @TheGAutomotiveAndMore  Рік тому

      Its hard to say because the water could be traveling down the hose and making the radiator look like is leaking. But when the housing is leaking there is a puddle on the top of the transmission

    Hello,
    I have changed my thermostat and replaced cooling system with new coolant. I have spent lots of money already on coolant and thermostat. What steps can I take to fix the engine overheating? There is ample coolant now, but, the engine runs idle and there is very cold air blowing out. Heat only works when revving or accelerating. There might appear to be a very small leak, yet I cannot detect from where. The heat only comes on when I rev or accelerate. I am worried the engine will overheat eventually but I am just unsure what to do. Could it be the radiator or heater core? I don't see leaks by the water pump and I just do not know what to do anymore. I have no engine codes but I noticed the reservoir very slowly dissipate coolant. I added bar's leaks cooling system repair to radiator directly, very recently. I think there may be some sludge? Again, car heat only comes on when revving or accelerating and then is ice cold when idle. What do you suggest?

    • @TheGAutomotiveAndMore
      @TheGAutomotiveAndMore  6 місяців тому

      First you must make sure that it is full. I do not know why you change the thermostat but there could be another problem. Watch this video ua-cam.com/video/QY5cuYMnyMU/v-deo.html&lc=UgyTxRCR5wMPZgU_y594AaABAg You might have a bad water pump like this one but make sure that is is full and has a good radiator cap.

    • @Mister_CVC
      @Mister_CVC 6 місяців тому

      @@TheGAutomotiveAndMore I see now there appears to be a leak by the radiator and lower hose. I think it could be coming from the water pump, and I feel the need to change that along with the hose and radiator.

    We have a 2009 Fusion and a 2007 Mazda 6. Both use basically the same 2.3L engine. Our Fusion w/ 150k mi. recently started leaking from the water outlet, but it hit me that our Mazda with 200k has not leaked from there. I went and looked, and our Mazda's outlet is made of aluminum.

    you are not lying when you say no plastic next to engines. I have had to replacet his piece twice. First time in June of this year and again today. The car ended up overheating on my son because the tensioner pulley broke and he had the car running while trying to get home and overheated and looks to have melted the dang thing..,

    Hello, any idea why a car wouldn't start after this problem happened? I've replaced the part and everything is back to normal. I even swapped to a different good battery but it just clicks once and does not start. The car started once to get it on a tow truck then sat still at home for about a month until repaired.

    Thank you for the vid! A question: what is the name of that round hole/outlet with a sort of brownish plug (needs a huge alien key it seems to open it) right above the “rectangular “ outlet/hole you connect the new piece to?? You’re kind of pointing at it at 5:58 approximately. And why does it throws out water (in my car)? A huge thank you!!

      I would say that is a casting plug for the cylinder head. But I bet that the housing I am removing is leaking on your car and spraying up into it making it look like its leaking. Unless its oil leaking then probably the plug. Thanks for watching

      @@TheGAutomotiveAndMore you nailed it man. Took me hours until I finally found this video. Can I pour coolant into the radiator and drive it to the shop that's 7 miles away or just tow it to be safe? Also, how many hours of labor is reasonable for the mechanic to charge me?

    Good video. I removed and replaced this same part on a 2012 Fusion. If you take your time and remove and disconnect everything in the way first as you did the replacement is pretty easy if you put the bottom bypass hose on before you replace the inlet housing. The hardest part for me was getting the old hoses off. I did not remove the bypass hose until I removed the inlet housing. The part was $36.99 at Autozone. Duralast DL902-231. I think the part is made by Dorman. 10/2/20
