The Swaybar:
I used the front part of a Hot Racing Swaybar kit for a Bomber, the chassis bushings I got from MOFO Rc, Links down below for those. I assembled and drilled them out gently with a 1/8" bit to fit the 1/8 piano wire for the torsion bar. I also drilled out the bar ends of the Hot Racing arms to fit the new bigger bar. Very carefully I cut a flat on each end of the bar so the arm set screws would hold in place. The links to the axle are approximately 68mm long eye to eye so use whatever you have to achieve that. At the bottom I used a spacer from a kit from Dixieland RC to make up the gap, I went back later and added one to the top to straighten up the links. Hope this helps!! Great job! I'm a shiny wheel guy too. I used some China SLW alloy wheels on mine. Locked Up RC makes some .185 SLW hubs that do not have a recessed center hole, so the stock 5mm large flange nuts will work. You do have to ream out the hub hole from 4mm to 5mm, but a step drill bit makes quick work of that. With my wheels the .185 hubs gave exactly the same offset as the stock Ryft wheels.

I wish the soil here in Virginia was dry like that you were able to try that first line over and over again without the tires getting caked full of dirt. Here where I am the tires instantly get filled with dirt and you're not going anywhere

Am i nuts for thinking capra portals might be a winner on this? I feel like the after market for those axles and the ability to use brass to lower the COG would help tons
The housings simply aren’t strong enough for the abuse this truck can give.

I commented a few videos ago about the Ryft not really being my cup of tea, it’s starting to get my attention now, just a pity it needs nearly rebuilt to get where it needs to be, fun content as always 😃👍
The sway bar is really the only thing you need to do. The stock tires are pretty darn good. I cobbled together a sway bar for mine from one made for the Wraith.
I was the same man I was hatin on the ryft rtr when it came out. I’ve got a built up kit version now hahaha I love it
@@GuyonaMoose I seen one in my local hobby shop last week, they are actually a LOT bigger than I thought, I was thinking they were the same size as the Capra and didn’t see the point in them, but they are a totally different animal 😃

Do you have any experience with the Axial Yeti? I won one in a raffle at the weekend, but it's a roller. I have a servo, but need a motor/ ESC. Any recommendations to make it perform like the Ryft? It's heavily upgraded, so should be able to take some power, and has locked front and rear diffs! Any advice would be gratefully received. Cheers. Rob
Yeah I had one for a little while. For power you could do a simple Castle Mamba X and a 3800kv and have fun with it. If you plan to order I can find one and get you a link for it. Servo, for that I’d go with the Reefs Raw500 or possibly the reefs 400sc servo. I’ve got the 400sc on my lasernut now and it’s awesome

The Ottsix tire seems it was destined for the Ryft. They, however, will need to be glued to the wheel as the OEM tires were. The Ryft (for me ) is like watching an otherwise hot-mess with great potential get a Cinderella-like transformation. The sadistic Brit managed to break a driveshaft before getting his Ryft out of the workshop. Although I question the maturity or emotional stability of launching one's RC 30+ feet straight up only to land on the cement or an iron railing it will be an interesting study as to the Bash survivability of the Ryft's exoskeletal construction.

We don’t have any racing scene for these around here. Maybe in a few months we will but right now we just don’t have it

That can't be the only way to get those tires on the ryft ,I ordered the tires and accept the challenge , I don't have bomber wheels sitting around so my investimagation continues , but some help would be greatly appreciated

depends on driving style, gyro settings and power
@@ExocagedRC I love these "it depends" answers. When watching your bomber videos, it looked u could drive quite fast and even jump in your backyard. Lyft seemed not to be able to land any jump. It fell over or bounced and fell over. If we take lasernut in the group too,which one would be your choice as an overall offroad(not crawling)basher. Only sad thing is for example the ridiculous condition of a box new lasernut. Do you know if they are going to redesign anything. Same with Lyft front axle housing.
Your channel is the#1 without any doubt. You test just those things, at least what I have in my mind
I bought my capra after watching all I could find.
There have been no surprises. Now I'm thinking of Lyft or bomber. Perhaps either of them allows me the same speed as a 8 buggy on sand. It just looks stupid in a sandpit. Some U4 (not ridiculously topheavy) would be best in looks an performance. What were those losing models with wings LBD or something. Do the share the lasernut bearings and axles. Would not want to buy alu with over$ 1000.

Very nice brother, those wheels n tires are meaty! Queston for you with my RYFT, when i go to hit full throttle you can tell not all the power is getting to the ground and you can hear this awful almost grinding/possible gear slippage going on but only when i go from 1/4 throttle to full ir from a dig. If i gradually ease the the throttle to.full it dosent really do it also if i turn it upside down and go full throttle it dosent make that slippage grind noise whatsoever weird? Any thoughts 9n that b4 i rip.her gearbox and diffs? Thanks in advance my man!🤝👍
You’re going to have to open it up. Make sure the ring gear bolts are tight on the diff cups. Mine weren’t so tight and while you’re in there get some silicone earplugs and put in there. Watch my ryft diff video for details on that.
