I lived this shit back in the day, and there IS justice here. Haters gonna hate.. but the fact that she's dropping James Gang on the world is just fucking awesome. In my book Sheryl is uniquely the ONLY contemporary female solo performer who has crossed every popular musical genre successfully (country, rock, pop). She has my respect on every front. ..and my metal, grunge, punk rock friends agree 100%. I dont know of anyone who doesn't like Sheryl Crow. A rare true musician.
I think that her and her band performed an honorable tribute and a wonderful rendition of this classic. I've never listened to her before but this definitely got my attention. I'm personally think she did a really good job.
FUCKING TIGHT BAND.....Man Sheryl can do NO WRONG IN MY BOOK!!! Seen her when she came out to Maui some years ago and She was AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for posting this GEM......🎸💚
+Agnes Philomena Well you clearly can't take criticism, what happened to freedom of speech or being entitled to your own opinion? I think Sheryl doesn't impress with this version of a great Joe Walsh/James Gang song. And another thing, I don't have to do it better having an opinion about it, that is plain stupid if you think that.
I'm appreciative that Sheryl respected Joe, his music, and had the players to cover it so well. I love it that the guitarists played it like the original recording. It's so cool, and so many artists won't do that.
I'm a JW/JG guy from hh-way back...the house of Walsh IS a sacred place to enter.. that SAID, the guitar & drum work was a solid cover - her singing on this one definitely blase' though. She's physically The Bomb at 46 but I can't give her high marks for covering - it's cool that she respects his genius enough to give it a whirl though. Love seeing the kids get rockin' to REAL guitar-hero rock.
+Joseph Melcher NAILED IT. NAILED IT. This song is 90% Jimmy man; and this drummer either didn't have the skills or didn't even try to channel that Jimmy Fox groove.
No shit that confused the hell out of me. Thank you for pointing that out. Oh & never thought while going down memory lane Sheryl Crow would actually incorporate visible panty lines.
Agnes Philomena this utterly SUCKS!! No need to defend this shit. Sherry Crow is awesome too. Only reason I clicked on it because I like both BUT DAMN! this is horrible. Lesbians or not
Doing covers has been always difficult , people expect ( because they know the song ) that the song sounds like in the record , some times you can do it , some times it's difficult ,in my humble opinion the music in this cover was pretty well done , the voice is different ? , so what , she stay in tune at all time and by the way playing bass and sing has its own grace , try and see.
+Pedro Diaz I totally agree with you. Making covers is hard, specially with you are compared with a band like James Gang (no, james gang is not only Walsh, there are other two musicians and imho the basits and drummer deserves credit) If it gets too hard, you may consider make a version, the band's version of that song, change some stuff, play around, try to tweak it to turn it into another genre, who knows... thats the magic
I agree with you, 100%. The players respected the music and Walsh. And it think it also shows that Crow made sure the band did as well. I just watched Brian May, Satriani, and others, playing with Walsh. It's nice to see the respect shown from very talented musicians to people that have paved the way for so many.
i am in love with sheryl....and i am gonna get slack for this.....but she is regular unleaded. joe will always be the man who does the "jet A" version of walk away. can joe do sheryl ?.....likely no. so i will admire each for both of their talents and styles.
I agree. Why are these people comparing Sheryl Crow to Joe Walsh. Good gawd almighty. Are we going to compare Don Henley's drumming skills to Steve Gadd? How about his piano skills to Boris Berezovsky? And his songwriting skills? Uh, more money that the banks east of the Mississippi. These damn people miss the boat. If Walsh didn't respect her, should wouldn't have been able to cover the song.
clicked....but ran away as soon as I didn't see Joe Walsh....and DID see Tucker Carson Daly. (I wish my mommy could've landed me an easy gig) good job Michael Smith on a BS title....ya' got me (for 2 seconds)
she has covered songs that were not in her best vocal range which is y she doesn't sound that great here, but that doesn't take away from how incredibly talented she is.
i never understand why people insist on knocking those who - like Sheryl Crow - 'cover' tunes better known by other folks. What she and her band do here is perfectly fine. True, it's not as urgent as Walsh and the James Gang's version, but that's a matter of style, not ability. Ms. Crow is more than capable on any number of musical levels, and her 'homage' here should be greeted with the level of respect that it deserves. And if you're a listener who can't do that, then go get a life. - x -
its a matter of opinion. i dont know about calling people stufff cause they like this. i mean who cares if they like it. realistically "seems to me" if jo sang it most of you would be praising it. cant ya just enjoy what ya enjoy? i mean music moves people even if you dont like it. we could be technical and act like we expect a live show to sound like a studio recording or flawless but cmon music is the bomb!
That's right...it is what it is! But I do wish Sheryl never sold out to radio pop songs. She went from garage,.to pop in three albums. Bought and paid for!!
I've been reading the comments and I feel it's important to remember that electric rock is very dependent on mixing, eq, and recording quality. There is no way of knowing what this sounded like live. Most live recordings generally suck. It's very difficult to capture the essence of a live performance on a recording.
DRUMMERS LIVES MATTER. Yep; wanna know what's really missing here: The Jimmy Fox groove. His dynamics and soul. Jimmy's drumming groove is entirely absent here, and that's one element that makes this cover totally flat. Yes, Sheryl and her musicians are pros, no doubt. However, .... doesn't mean they can dig deep enough to kill this classic. Sorry, keep it in the vault Sheryl.
This video is labeled as: Sheryl Crow Joe Walsh James Gang Walk Away. It's misleading. Nowhere during this video is Joe Walsh present. False advertising. Like false news.
After reading some of the comments here it sounds like a lot of people actually expected her vocals to sound like Joe Walsh. Sheryl is a very talented musician and she's also easy on the eyes.
Well it's not just me. I don't like to give bad comments, but her vocals were not spot on And I feel there should be attitude. The music wasn't bad though. I'm a fan of hard rock. There should be attitude and you better rock hard.
I certainly agree on a few points. I think that the guitarists and drummer did keep it close to great and they covered it well. The drummer wasn't nearly close to the original, but a lot of the time, the players are told not to wander too far. Crow's the boss, was given the permission to cover the song, and with that, you've gotta do what you are allow to do.
She tackled an awesome and mostly overlooked treasure of a song from the most influential era of music. Kudos to her.
Before, corporate got involved, talent inter interact freely. "Travel ing Wilburys". Only Colonel Parker, stealing the Elvis. I guess, go figure.
and 700 times better than skinny bean pole overrated Taylor Swift!!!
I lived this shit back in the day, and there IS justice here.
Haters gonna hate.. but the fact that she's dropping James Gang on the world is just fucking awesome.

I also wanted to say.....She's a GREAT GUITAR PLAYER, But She KILLED IT on the Bass....🎸♡
excellent song choice. James Gang!
This was a good band that Sheryl had behind her.
The title's misleading. I was expecting to see Joe Walsh WITH Sheryl Crow.
agreed - here ua-cam.com/video/kGo-k-PEcvc/v-deo.html
Yeah ya think I felt ripped off
Me too. Still always happy she appreciates quality rock and roll.
The James Gang are good role models for the youth.
Thanks Mike, that was very well done!
Some things should not be covered. This is one of them.
the guitarist is from Texas, and play for Don Henley show on texas TV,he is fantastic.
After hearing that, I'm convinced that only Walsh can do Walsh
+Agnes Philomena Well you clearly can't take criticism, what happened to freedom of speech or being entitled to your own opinion? I think Sheryl doesn't impress with this version of a great Joe Walsh/James Gang song. And another thing, I don't have to do it better having an opinion about it, that is plain stupid if you think that.
Only people like Agnes can enjoy free speech. The rest of us have to shut up.
That wouldn't sit will with Walsh. He'd have to do himself.
Learn to spell dumbass: "well" not "will". I forgot: The THC did a number on your little male misogynistic brain.
Dumb ass is actually two words. Since you're such an authority on it.
Excellent cover! Love it!
I enjoyed it. Great tune sung by a great lady. The guitarist pulled out a few good solos with just the A minor pentatonic scale.
I'm appreciative that Sheryl respected Joe, his music, and had the players to cover it so well. I love it that the guitarists played it like the original recording. It's so cool, and so many artists won't do that.
She did a great job.
Awww, she’s tiny! I love it when she plays bass!
Great cover. Great guitar work.
damn nice!
It is truly amazing that she is more talented than she is beautiful.
Love all the silver Kustom speaker cabs
Joe Walsh for PRESIDENT!!!
I'm a JW/JG guy from hh-way back...the house of Walsh IS a sacred place to enter.. that SAID, the guitar & drum work was a solid cover - her singing on this one definitely blase' though. Gutsy. One of the coolest chicks in the universe
James Gang and Sweet? I love this woman!!!
I think I heard this playing in the mall the other day. Good lord where's the funeral?
Very nice harmonies and thick fat guitar sound-well done on a small stage. She's always pretty laid back..
"You just turn your pretty head & WALK AWAY"......
walk away - 1971
This is a great version
It’ soulless, stiff, her vocals are horrible and it’s devoid of energy.
nice Kustom rig!!!
No Jimmy Fox, forget it!
+Joseph Melcher NAILED IT. NAILED IT. This song is 90% Jimmy man; and this drummer either didn't have the skills or didn't even try to channel that Jimmy Fox groove.
that guy was an ANIMAL!
She's playing Bass on this one. Kudos!!
Piss
We should press criminal charges
Trump Lost hahahahaha arrested on RICO and Racketeering Charges... Hillary laughing 😅
She s sooo Cool
Classe
👍👍👍
walked away before 1:12
Her cover of ram jam kicks ass
Takes two guys on guitar to equal one Joe Walsh.
No shit that confused the hell out of me. Thank you for pointing that out. Oh & never thought while going down memory lane Sheryl Crow would actually incorporate visible panty lines.
Miranda Rights
Really? Panty lines?
*****
Hmmm. French cut, from the looks of things, I'd surmise...
No Sheryl, put down the guitar, walk away and go find Joe.
Do your own songs Cheryl
Que du bonheur !!!
😉👌
WOW
Walk away Sheryl....just walk away
I LOVE THIS SHIT!!!
Yes, it is
Exactement ça, good !!!
How the hell did they manage to drain all the energy and soul from the song?
Suppose if the original James Gang had been involved in a horrible accident and became physically impaired, they might sound somewhat like this.
This ranks as one of the Best comments I've ever seen!!
+Agnes Philomena Judging by the comments you've posted here, seems pretty obvious you're a lesbian. Am I right?
yeah agnes...what part of Lesbia are you from?
👍🏼😂👍🏼
Agnes Philomena this utterly SUCKS!! No need to defend this shit. Sherry Crow is awesome too. Only reason I clicked on it because I like both BUT DAMN! this is horrible. Lesbians or not

Tesla do an awesome cover of this classic...blows this one out of the water :-)
Nailed it !
I`ll have to agree on this one. It`s her one flaw. This song DEMANDS Joe W`s cranky-ass delivery.
Just watching this bores me so much that I wanna go out like Kevin Gilbert...
You guy's don't know what you're talkin' 'bout. She looks great. She sounds great. It's called California cool.
Sheryl & her band rock with this tune!
This would have been better if Sheryl Crow had just Walked Away. Poor Joe!
Agnes Philomena - Oh dear, another little bullying troll looking for an anonymous fight on UA-cam. You people reproduce like Tribbles!
Haha nice one. Funny how artist put out two great albums then resolve to pass top forty radio shite as thier music thinking the fans will buy it up.

She's no bomber!
@gamoonbat she plays bass on a lot of her songs.
nice tribute to walsh anyway despite naysayers
One does not simply cover Joe Walsh...
Seems to me, you forgot all the words...
oui.
Everything but Cheryl's voice/timbre/attitude is fine with me.
its a matter of opinion. i dont know about calling people stufff cause they like this. i mean who cares if they like it. realistically "seems to me" if jo sang it most of you would be praising it. cant ya just enjoy what ya enjoy? i mean music moves people even if you dont like it. we could be technical and act like we expect a live show to sound like a studio recording or flawless but cmon music is the bomb!

Don't even attempt it! Like she doesn't even care!
When Joe Walsh sings it, its like the last song he will ever sing.
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️♥️
This sucks. Im Joe Walsh and I approve this message.
Absolutely NO feeling in this rendition. Paint by numbers all the way.
The band was right on, Crow sounds lazy vocally, but she remains eternally hot. Beautiful woman...
Yeah, the passion isn't there in the vocal, but she does a pretty good job on bass!
Eeesh
When you order “Walk Away” from Wish.
I doubt Sheryl ever did anything "weak"
Her vocals are top shelf
I'd like to hear tom petty cover this song.
This is a great version y'all are asking too much.
I've been reading the comments and I feel it's important to remember that electric rock is very dependent on mixing, eq, and recording quality. There is no way of knowing what this sounded like live. Most live recordings generally suck. It's very difficult to capture the essence of a live performance on a recording.
The fact she loves this song makes her that much more attractive. Joe does an up tempo disco version of this live unfortunately.
Pretty sure only Joe Walsh should play this song.
DRUMMERS LIVES MATTER. Yep; wanna know what's really missing here: The Jimmy Fox groove. His dynamics and soul. Monotone...
I wish Sheryl Crow was my girlffriend
Flat and plainly bad!!
nice, nothing comes close to the original though. Papa Joe teaching the world how to rock!!
This is an amazing cover of this song
This video is labeled as: Sheryl Crow Joe Walsh James Gang Walk Away. It's misleading. Nowhere during this video is Joe Walsh present. False advertising. Like false news.

Fuck yeah. Most covers suck ass but not this one. Joey would be proud
Have you heard Joe Walsh sing this? She nailed it.
After reading some of the comments here it sounds like a lot of people actually expected her vocals to sound like Joe Walsh. Sheryl is a very talented musician and she's also easy on the eyes.
I'd love to see an awesome cover band recreate Rides Again. Guess it would need a girl to sing it.
I'm thinking a word about three rungs underneath terrible. Hummmmmm?
I'm not crazy about the cover song she's doing, but she is nice to look at, lol
Crud dying version
Gawd Carson is the biggest dork.
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️♥️

Uh yeah no Joe Walsh found!
Yes the click bait is working well, I only clicked on this expecting to see Joe Walsh performing with Sheryl Crow. Very boring rendition.
