Wow! Didn't know they did such great covers of Joe's work. I felt like I was watching and listening to Mad Dogs all over again but with new energy! I'm a long-time fan of Joe so this is an unexpected surprise and very, very cool...
I have one word for this performance, "FUN"! You can't watch this without smiling and clapping your hands. I love it!
The Crowes have always had this insane gift for making a song their own while still capturing and paying homage to the spirit of the original version. I saw Chris's side project recently do Sugaree and Tough Mama and it was the same story. I have alot of respect for a band that's able to keep their influences alive by introducing them to their audience.
Have you seen the video of them doing the Velvet Underground's song "Sweet Nuthin"? Rich Robinson sings lead instead of Chris Robinson and I was blown away by how great Rich Robinson sang. He's got a higher voice so they thought that he was the right person to sing it and he knocks it out of the park. You should check it out..
Love the Crowes and Robinson’s , but have to admit there have been “better” eras (band members/ chemistry etc.) and there have been “good eras” - the former , they had some absolutely amazing moments

I agree but they are brothers and sometimes brothers don't get along. Chris seemed a lot happier when he became a single dude, all sorts of ups and downs. They still are the best of their time. 💞✌️❤️🌼@@hazor777

I just love the Black Crowes, I wish they'd cover some of the Humble Pie songs.....Chris would do a great Steve Marriott impression!

I'm a little late but I really do miss this band... it broke my heart a little when I found out they broke up. I'm 16 and I only got to see them once a few months before they called it quits. This is/was my favorite band of all time. I can't help but smile when I hear one of their songs turn on.

They're back together now and touring. Rich Robinson has too many wives and children to support.
They're back together now and touring. They announced it on the Howard Stern show. Rich has about six children and he probably realized that fighting with his brother ain't gonna pay the bills. They told Howard that they would physically fight each other so badly so they had to get separate touring buses during those times. So happy that they're playing music with each other again.
I would love to hear Chris Robinson do a cover of an old Rod Stewart with the Faces song. He's got that husky Rod Stewart voice anyway.

Man!! They nail this! Such feel. Stick them in any pigeon hole you like but to me the Black Crows are one of the best soul bands about.
I wasn't at this show, but I saw em perform this in Nashville and I swear to god Eddie winked at me. RIP.

Chris Robinson is the ultimate hippie and you can tell he loves performing. I'm glad he and his brother Rich patched things up and got back together. They were physically fighting on the tour bus so now they have separate buses. Lol Rich Robinson has a great voice too. Check out his version of the song "Sweet Nuthin". It's an old Velvet underground song. His voice is amazing too and he is a great guitarist.
Tedeschi Trucks does my favorite version, including the original by Cocker. This is quite good though.

Brian C. It's an excellent version, but I just don't think it beats Joe Cocker's live version back in the early 70's, late 60's. This perfotmance comes close though, I will say that.

@ginapotter25 what's wrong with covers? You don't have to write a song to sing it. Sinatra never wrote a song, but like Joe, he knew a good song when he heard and knew he could do it better. BTW, The Black Crowes were big time fans of Leon Russell and all the Cocker songs from Mad Dogs and Englishmen that the Crowes covered were note for note Leon's arrangements.
