❤ I have been wanting a snickerdoodle recipe and found a couple, but I was totally holding out for a Jemma recipe🤭 and as usual you never disappoint!!!😊🎉
I made your sticky toffee cupcakes today, and made the custard butter it split, then found the recipe in the book I didn’t let the custard to room temperature. The cupcakes taste really good though. So thanks for the recipe !!!
I watched an American recipe for snickerdoodles and they recommended spooning the cinnamon sugar mix over the balls of dough if you wanted to maximise the cinnamon taste!
I remember when you first released your version of Levain cookies, I immediately decided to try to make a snickerdoodle version of it. Now there’s a regular version of it yay!
Thank you for such a good recipe. I made them yesterday, but for some reason, they became puffy but didn't spread like yours. They were looking like small rocks 😂 What can be the reasone for that? (The taste is absolutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g
Dear Jemma, First of all I cannot grasp that your girl Eden is 3 and a 1/2 years old already. Second, I love this recipe. And third, I hope you’re not going to think “oh, she’s one of those, because I really am not”, but because I cannot do makeup and I think yours today looks very simplistic yet very beautiful and, with a little practice also doable even for someone like me. So, my question is, could you do me a solid and maybe do one video thats very different from what you do up here on your beautiful channel? I would really, and I mean reeeally love to see your today’s exact makeup routine! I call it “a snickerdoodle makeup routine” (that’s for you to remember which one I mean) 😁. Again, I really looove how it looks and how good it looks on you!😍💄 Thank you so much for everything you do! Tinka, from Slovenia. 😍🙋🏻♀️
@@CupcakeJemma Yeah, I get that, because this channel is about you, your team and everything baking. But, yes of course, you could do it on instagram, that would be awesome! I cannot believe I didn’t think of insta....🤦🏻♀️😉
I used to make these when I was a kid in the early 90s, I'm sure there was a recipe in a kids magazine in the uk at the time. But no one I know seems to have heard of them. Maybe its an american recipe? Not sure. Bit there are nice and easy to make.
Yeah maybe it’s just me but I prefer a chewier cookie generally. I’ve never eaten a snickerdoodle anywhere so I have nothing to compare these too. All I know is that these ones are delicious!
Due to religious reasons, at the moment I'm unsure if cream of tarter is Halal (need to do some more research) due to it being a "waste" product of wine making. So if it turns out to be something prohibited for my dietary requirements, can cream of tarter be substituted with anything, if so what would be the quantity. Tia
I just baked these and I think they weren't done. I converted 170 C to F and got 340F. Looking at other recipes I see that they bake on 375F so I guess? that was my problem. How do you tell when they are done. I baked for 10 min. (and subsequently put them back in a couple of minutes, but it was too late really.) Thanks!
Not for this particular recipe - all the quantities are totally off. However you can use our NY Cookie recipe base and create a snickerdoodle version! 😍
Aw, maaan! 🤔 Mine came out all puffy and crumbly... 20 mins in the fridge and 11 mins @ 160 fan. Plus they broke up when I tried the neat cookie-cutter trick. Overbaked? Still well tasty though 🤤... I'll just have to try again 😂
It does sound like they are being slightly overbaked - it could be that your oven is running a little hotter than it says, try 160°C for 9 minutes and see how they come out 😘
Thank you! They were actually a much better texture when I'd let them cool fully... I must have been too greedy and impatient! Will deffo try the reduced time though. Yum and thank you for the tips! ❤
This happened to me with the exception of the crumbly 😂and I reduced bake time by 1 minute and the second batch came out looking like Jemma’s! I did a happy dance and made sure to note the adjustment going forward. FYI I baked at 350 F😊
This happened to me and I reduced bake time by 1 minute as Jemma suggested cause it sounded like over baking in a previous comment and the second batch came out looking like Jemma’s! I did a happy dance and made sure to note the adjustment going forward. FYI I baked at 350 F😊
I did them today, followed everythibg to the dot, left in the fridge to cool for 20min. They baked at my normal oven at 175C for 12 min and they turned out nice but cakey and not flat like yours. What could be the culprit?
I’m going to keep asking for a carrot cake cookie recipe until you oblige. I’m obsessed with this idea and need it in my belly.
Yes 🎉🎉🎉
She also has a loaf version

Always wondered what they were!
Me too haha

The video is here!!! Have been so excited to try these 😊😊🩷
Jemma... You got me craving yet another dessert I've never had before 😂🍪
Love cinnamon and will definitely try this out! Got all the ingredients in the kitchen... 🤤
Lucky you! 😆
I came for the cupcakes but I stayed for the ENDLESS and hilarious innuendo. Y'all are so funny at C&D :)
😂 it would seem that most things in the baking world are FULL of innuendos 🤪
My all time favorite cookie! Gonna make a batch this weekend!
I hope you love this recipe as much as we do! 🫶🏼

Love this so much Christine! The sticky toffee cupcakes are easily up there as one of my absolute FAVOURITE cupcakes 😍
@@CupcakeJemma mine also. I am making mince pies with frangipane topping next week. Then custard buttercream pipped on top !!!

Hiya 👋🏼
@@CupcakeJemma 😍
loved the video Jemma is so funny! 😄I also haven't seen Sally in a minute 🤥
I finally got the book there are so many good recipes I can't choose which one to do first
Love that so much! What do you think you'll start with?
Snickerdoodles are scrumdidliumptious 😊
Snickerdoodle is a genuinely underrated gem of a cookie, Crumbl do an incredible cookie version
make these and make some cream cheese frosting and you'll blow crumbls outta the water
Crumbl tastes like raw dough. Now how about a NYC style snickerdoodle? Yum!
Oh man, Nikki got some the last time she was in NY and they were SO GOOD!
I made these back in school, about 1984 in Home Ec class. I think that was the last time I ever made them, lol.
Get those skills back to use! They're the best cookies!
Love the jemma recipes ❤
Would you recommend using softened brown butter instead of plain unsalted butter for a more nuanced nutty flavor?
Could you please make new york roll croissant please thank you
Ooh tell us more about this 👀

Snickerdoodle cookies are up there with soy nut butter cookies. Quick question where is Sally lately? I ❤ you both.
She's still around don't you worry! Tell us more about the Soy Nut Butter Cookies 👀
Years ago, when my MIL was alive, she used to make these every weekend.
Look soo yummmyyy❤❤❤
Add some nutmeg as well. So good.
Ooh good shout!
100% agree...if it has cinnamon has to have nutmeg

I think they are more of an American bake but we should TOTALLY be making them more often over here in the UK!
Is the a substitute for cream of tartar?
I love snickerdoodles, but I prefer them a bit fluffier rather than flatter like these came out
Yeah maybe it’s just me but I prefer a chewier cookie generally. I’ve never eaten a snickerdoodle anywhere so I have nothing to compare these too. All I know is that these ones are delicious!

Came close to your described result, but not as golden and not as flat. Rather more on the cakey side 😅😊

Try baking without chilling - they should flatten a bit more and be a little more chewy 👌🏼
Round the outside around the outside 😂
Snickerdoodle cherry … hahahahahahaha!
