I love this video, mainly due to everyone cooperating and slowly pulling back while keeping each others sides a glance once they pass a hallway Also for the “Military fucking dies from walking corpses” trope stuff: The virus multiplied and had its clone mutate into a airborne form while the original stayed through saliva and blood, causing most of the exclusion zone to reanimate after dropping dead, while a decent number of people were immune to the airborne variant, they weren’t immune to the saliva and blood variant, even if the army had a massive presence to combat the infected Shaun of the dead style, most would reanimate into the dead within the outposts and checkpoints, and cause massive chaos in them
the reveal of the horde felt like something out of the movie. the way it starts with just a few zombies running out from the hallway. they kept coming out, sure, but it was nothing to worry about. but then y'all reared the corner, and the full scale of the horde was revealed.
It's a good game. Was actually really good way back in early beta, and the slow addition of features and polish has really helped it shine. I've only ever done singleplay / coop with one other player but it's fun. Honestly I don't really get the appeal of a big squad with guns and going in loud, because being forced to go quiet, think everything out and be smart (or die horribly) is where the fun has always been for me.
0:50 “CRAWLER, CRAWLER, SOMEBODY STOMP IT!!” Idk why that took me out, but it did 😂😂. Everyone else is just cool and collected, then you have Private Hudson.
This was fantastic to watch, but I think adrenaline hit the '249 gunner a bit too hard. He got the command/order to fall back and he was like "Nah I'm shooting". Like, at a certain point your Team Leader is GOING to call for a termination to the engagement lol time to run away and live to fight another day.
That's the real reaction.when they find that the situation is not right, they start shooting while retreating, and they will cover each other, nice to see this。 Don't like zombie movies or series where soldiers are just a bunch of people who can shoot, not use tactics.

This would usually be the part in a film where one soldier goes, "There's too many of them! We can't hold 'em off!"
Lol not today
I wanted to say Thank you for the comments and the likes on this video. I’ve been so inundated with work, new baby, and a new house. It’s been awhile since I’ve sat down and read the comments. It has given me the biggest smile. I will do my best to put out more content.
This vid was cool. I hope my homie is getting back to that game soon and we can get some coop started it looks so nice!

When a real zombie apocalypse happens, these 5 will be brothers until the end.
What really gets me is how calmly you guys extracted and covered each other, like a smooth spec ops team that has drilled for this situation every day for years. Absolutely beautiful.
The fact that this isn't an RP and they're just communicating so well in combat it sounds like Military larp says something, IDK what though.
Honestly pretty impressive coordination. This seems like how things would actually go with the military and zombies.
A zombie apocalypse wouldn't even be able to happen. 8-10 guys could easily clear this hospital irl. The movies just like being dramatic
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 many zombie stories (like project zomboid) have the virus airborne at first. In zomboid it was airborne and everyone except a few who were immune to the airborne variant got infected. The immune are only affected by direct blood from a zombie inside their body. And tbh that's the only way a zombie apocalypse could happen.
@@thelegacyofgaming2928I think the only reason the army could fail to contain the zombies is that the virus is highly contagious and airborne, plus poor organization could lead to infecting the soldiers.
@@R4in46yeah. The zombies won’t be the problem, the only actual threat to the military comes from the virus itself and the way/ways it can spread
I died here once on the second floor staires, the stairs leading to corners are really really dangerous
They are, the time after this where we came back to clear, I died running down the stairs and not paying attention
@@Nerdy_Vet did you completely cleared the entire Building man?
@@deepdungeon8465 no we definitely did not, we had been in Red Stone for a minute and just resupplied with the Armory in the Admin building across the street. We fought the horde for a bit to see if it was something that was winnable, but as the fight drug on, we saw it as more of a loss and pulled back. No reason to stay there and waste more ammo.
@@Nerdy_Vet good to hear it man, I'll start binge watching your videos tomorrow.
@@deepdungeon8465 thanks, still new to this whole thing, so I’ve been working on spending some time editing, we have a wipe event happening soon, so I hope you enjoy those videos
This was so well done, it felt like a slow paced thriller. Good stuff on getting out of there.
1:26 bro pulling a thermophylae 300💀
I love the callouts. IRL operators would have to continuously switch fire and would utilize choke points if there were a zombie apocalypse. Overall great teamwork and hope to play with my friends some more like this.
Army National Guard in TWD/FTWD: *portrayed like a joke*
Army National Guard here and irl: *actually really fucking good*
I've heard a lot of bad things about the Army National Guard from guardsmen, it's pretty clear it depends on who and where.
If you hear about the nasty guard from civilians or foreigners, they are hot stuff. If your hear about them from the proper infantry, they are bag nasties.
Perspective.
@@hieug.rection1920 Being a weekend warrior is better than not being a warrior at all, when the situation calls for it.
To be fair, it's a lot easier to be calm and tactical when you're behind a screen.
Active duty infantry thinks everyone else sucks. Mostly because they do, but the infantry could try being more polite about it.
Do you guys stream anywhere? I love the story and chemistry in this video, I’d love to see more!
Yep I recently just started. Twitch.tv/nerdyvet
@@Nerdy_Vet seems like you stopped right after
@@Nerdy_Vet just followed on twitch. I love the comms and gameplay so I'm looking forward to more!
@@orishina8169 Thank You :)
Going to try lol, just had me a new baby so I can mainly do recording, just in case I have to leave. But when I do, I'll try to stream on here or twitch.
I was thinking extract earlier than you guys did -- but I'm glad you were sensible and did the proper move.
Once the horde starts coming, it's time to leave. Fun video.
Can’t wait to see what you think of the next video.
Feels like a average l4d2 experience, excellent job to not get infected.
If they had Molotovs or nades, the horde would be way faster to kill
Even though this video was posted a year ago and this is my first time viewing it I am so very, very impressed with the CQB tactics, fire discipline, movement fire, retrograde withdrawal and good communications amongst the fire team. @nerdy_vet, you and your friends rock! And get to the chopper and exfil!
I got a little nervous when that last guy didn't exit the building right away
The zombies showing up one at a time then quickly increasing in numbers is straight out of a movie
The cooperation and team work is absolutely amazing!
The way you guys said "Back up" seems soooooo real. I was so immersed.
They really showed you guys NO MERCY ya know?
This is the kind of control and readiness I expect out of a vet in this situation, course this was after the initial infection panic and the survivors are all that's left. I assume on an outpost where the virus can hide in plain sight before the apocalypse can wipe out a military base in the panic if it's not controlled quickly.
In all honesty it makes sense that the most zombies in an Zombie Virus infected world would reside in hospitals.
True cause the cases start popping up and almost all of them would be sent to the hospital but if the hospitals weren't prepared it's wraps
I love how they communicated like a squad
I love watching full strings where people like this Just get together and cooperate.
I'm glad this Indie game came from British and Canadian developers and giving some representation to Kentucky.
when the military in a zombie movie can actually shoot straight and has situational awareness
I've never seen this game get more interesting as long as I play it. man, you play like a realistic movie
It's because you're not using trajectory mods that make the game super easy like this guy.
Inb4 "muh sandbox bro I can cheat if ah want"
It's what makes this game so much more menacing. A hallway with nothing but a dark void not understanding what can be down there. Just to get surprised by an unimaginable sized horde.
you make the game look so fun. when i play i just run around like an idiot till i die naked and afraid.
This clip is what got me to buy this game late last year. I just hit 400 hours played yesterday.
Keep it up! We have someone with 5000 hours in Zomboid in our discord.
this is why i love playing vet, feels so satisfying with friends when their characters panic and freak out while mine is like "I feel peckish and moist" while fighting hored flooding out of a building lol
Lmao 🤣
I love how you guys are so calm. If that was me, I'll definitely panic and scream 😂
I handled this with my veteran character alone by burning down the hospital. ._.
Good on you for good coordination.
Definitely should have considered a Molotov but I have fire spread turned off. Two server wipes because of fire spread so
@@Nerdy_Vet Yeah, I threw a thermite grenade in, fired a couple shots, and had to book it, feeling as if I'd made a mistake.
The burned down hospital told me otherwise.
Draw all the zombies to you with a ton of noise. Draw them outside. Have car ready and waiting, toss a firebomb, get in car and drive in circles until they are all dead. Profit. This is how I do every single big horde in this game. Works like a charm as long as you do not get cocky.
Just make sure to draw them far enough away from the building to a parking lot.
Napalming the location to the ground is also one of my emergency strat. But I try to think twice before doing (especially if there are other buildings around). Last time I didn't double checked, the Mall went in ashes x)
When such a simple mistake can turn into an absolutely catastrophic event. Then snatched back with coordination. Excellent.
A hospital is the last place I'd go to in a zombie apocalypse
That escalated quickly. Good communication and team work.
I love that 6 sec pause after the first kill.....then they come running around the corner!
just a tip, you can setting ctrl key with targeting crawling target, it is very useful for targeting zombie crawler especially if you are using ranged weapon.
Yea we learned that afterwards lol
@@Nerdy_Vet I keep a revolver handy just for this purpose, really handy in fence fighting, that and the 38 revolver is actually the quietest gun in the game, only pulling zomboids from slightly longer than shouting distance
These guys went 😀>😏>🙂>🤨>😐>😳>😮>😨>😱
Literally lol
The sound and the crows after leaving. Its almost. Hauntingly beautiful
The overnight janitor is gonna be pissed when they clock in for their shift tonight...
😂😂😂
This is when you wish you had a grenade launcher with a few rounds.
this game looks sick, tbh im not a big fan of FPS's but i love this sort of top down tactical approach
I’m too old and too slow for FPS’s lol getting trick shotted by a kid, 3 times younger than me, isn’t something on my bucket list 😅
@@jayquoproductions i know, i was saying as someone who likes shooter but not fps's this almost more rts view is preferable
@@sangun123 if you have not purchased the game yet I would check more videos as shooting usually gets you in a lot of trouble (seen here but managed easily with 5 guns pointed down the hallway). This is one of the best games I've ever played and I love it, but if youre looking for a shooter in this way it may not scratch your itch. Then again you can sandbox the settings so that it does scratch that itch easily 😂 idk just trying to give you a realistic idea
@@jayquoproductions Since you wanna be the guy who has to correct others... This isnt a third person shooter either, tps is over the shoulder, this is top down shooter...
@@jayquoproductions you are also wrong because this isn’t a third person
I love this video, mainly due to everyone cooperating and slowly pulling back while keeping each others sides a glance once they pass a hallway
Also for the “Military fucking dies from walking corpses” trope stuff:
The virus multiplied and had its clone mutate into a airborne form while the original stayed through saliva and blood, causing most of the exclusion zone to reanimate after dropping dead, while a decent number of people were immune to the airborne variant, they weren’t immune to the saliva and blood variant, even if the army had a massive presence to combat the infected Shaun of the dead style, most would reanimate into the dead within the outposts and checkpoints, and cause massive chaos in them
the reveal of the horde felt like something out of the movie. the way it starts with just a few zombies running out from the hallway. they kept coming out, sure, but it was nothing to worry about.
but then y'all reared the corner, and the full scale of the horde was revealed.
Damn, you guys communicating tactically, you guys actually felt like well-trained military on a mission to wipe the zombie out
They are. They're military vet gamers.
I thought it was pretty cool how everyone managed to stick together and escape out the Hospital!
man this is the kinda stuff that makes me wanna buy this game
Do it
Whats the game?
@@lucifer616161 Project Zomboid if I'm not mistaken
@@andrascottier595 cheers
The ice cold delivery of "contact in the hallway" while dealing with shoulder to shoulder zombies is peak mil-sim
*You got a new subscriber!*
Nice teamplay. Strong communication and cooperation.
Thanks for subbing
Beautiful ordered retreat, followed by trying to locate the helicopter like you lost you forgot where you parked at walmart 😂
its insane how you can have 5 fully loaded people with military grade weaponry and its still not enough to clear one building
all the tech in the world doesn't help when the ammo runs out.
Or when the enemy just doesn't care about casualties or their own survival
That was intense. Could feel the greed fighting with the realities. Glad you could share.
Honestly, that m240b alone could realistically clear that whole hallway
Honestly kinda surprised how well the group kept it together. I'm used to seeing people panic or make smary jokes, maybe even blaming each other.
How the military would actually act in a zombie apocalypse
I think this might be more an artillery strike situation, honestly.
Kinda wished the game let the zombie do audible noises. It would have been really scary knowing that a loud horde is right near the corner
“Games aren’t fun anymore” mfs realizing they can play with friends:
I don't have friends.
That's the real reaction.when they find that the situation is not right, they start shooting while retreating, and they will cover each other, nice to see this。
Don't like zombie movies or series where soldiers are just a bunch of people who can shoot, not use tactics.
That is what I was going for. In the walking dead, soldiers were just guys with guns, and couldn’t hit a headshot for the life of them. And it bugs me being a Vet lol
remember
no zombies
This video made me revisit PZ, and I'm beyond hooked now. Ty boys!
