    as someone who is struggling with EDNOS this was really encouraging. I felt personally called out when you were speaking on obsession over mindfulness, i weigh every single thing i eat and never eat more than a serving size. its really stressful, and going out to eat is a nightmare. i want to enjoy my life again and stop obsessing over calories but i still want to meet my weight loss goals!! thanks for putting everything in perspective for me.

    • @MorganVenn
      @MorganVenn  Рік тому +6

      Hi! I'm sorry to hear that, it's SO stressful.. but you can!! what you said is so possible, you can enjoy life again without obsessing over calories. Maybe you need to start with intuitive eating and repairing your body image? I can't say for sure, but I know I was struggling hard when I always felt like controlling food was going to the way I reached my body goals or fitness goals. Sometimes the healthiest thing to do is to let go of those "healthy goals" and recenter yourself on what matters- your happiness!!

    “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
    ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬
    ROMANS 10:9-11 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame”
    Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
    “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.””
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:10‬ ‭
    God wants us to believe in His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who died for our sins :D When we truly believe in our hearts that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for our sins so we could have eternal life with God, we are saved from the eternal fire and have eternal life in Christ Jesus!! 💖 May God bless you all! 🕊💞

    I really like Lauren Giraldo’s 12-3-30 for cardio & you can modify it as you get stronger. Weight lifting is something I’m still trying to get into. The mental game is real & getting over that hill is usually the hardest part, I still haven’t done it.

    • @MorganVenn
      @MorganVenn  Рік тому +5

      Yes so true it’s all mental and sometimes getting stronger is just mentally feeling more okay / less panicked and eventually happy / excited to workout. Also thank you for watching to that point and sharing with me your fave workouts! And I believe in you you’re killing it already the 12-3-30 is so hard haha weight lifting feels easier for me than cardio sometimes

    What are your thoughts on coaches that give you a meal plan where you actually have to measure your food?

    • @raluca4385
      @raluca4385 Рік тому +3

      Hi! As someone who has a similar figure to her and lifestyle, I will reply if it helps:) Strict plans are affecting your mental health and your motivation. While they may be good for your body, progress can be achieved by moderating things. No soda, not so many sweets, more proteins. If one meal is worse, the next one make sure is a salad or something lighter. Gym and moving in general helps a lot(even walks are good)

    Hi, I love your videos, and I'm also recovering from a kind of disordered eating(I don't want to falsely diagnose myself but I really hurt my body and mind) and you've been such an inspiration! I would love to do something like Barry's one day but I wouldn't say I'm old enough(I'm 14) and we don't have that where I live, do you have any workout suggestions or a workout plan you could recommend ?
    Lots of love❤❤

      @MorganVenn  Рік тому +3

      Hi!! Just want to say thank you for such a kind comment ❤️ it really made me smile, although I’m sad to hear you are struggling with disordered eating… I don’t think you’re wrongly diagnosing yourself.. if you feel like something is wrong, it usually is, and it’s up to you to change it- I wish I knew when I was your age how much time I wasted overthinking food or feeling insecure! Also you are so young! But you could definitely try a Barry’s class or get into any strength training! And props to you for wanting to work out now, I also wish I started when I was younger because it’s taken me at least 2 years to build muscle & feel capable in the gym- so go you!!

    Wait - you're telling people to eat more? Eating more calories is how you gain weight! (sorry I couldnt help myself) 🙃
    But seriously, these were some useful tips - mindfulness about eating and food. Thanks for posting it. For myself the first one and the "move every day" are particularly relevant - that's two practical things I can incorporate on my fitness journey. 😊

    Randomly came across this video and it was great! I've gained a lot of weight in the past couple years (30 lbs) and after a long long time of trying to get fitter and not being able to follow thru, I'm finally in a good place where I feel positive about my efforts. For me the key factor is that my efforts towards a healthy diet and lifestyle have to be *sustainable*.
    1) I started using MyFitnessPal to become aware of my calorie consumption and expenditure thru exercise. My goal was to understand how many calories are in the foods that I typically eat and love, and how I can adjust them (if needed) to meet my goals. I have continued to eat my usual breakfast cereal, but I'm just more aware of how much 1 cup of cereal looks like in a bowl and how many calories that is, and if I feel like having another bowl then I go for it without feeling bad. I'm also able to eat ice cream and cookies without guilt because I'm more aware of serving sizes and can incorporate them into my day easily.
    2) Added veggies to my diet, which was seriously lacking before. I had to find ways to make veggies delicious because I find them boring. Now I just toss some broccoli, cauliflower, baby carrots, green beans in some olive oil, salt, pepper, thyme, and sesame seeds, and cook on high heat on a pan for like 7 mins. Suuuper delicious and something that I even crave as a snack! Totally agree with Morgan that veggies can be incorporated into our fave foods or as a side to increase nutrient intake, fiber intake, and increase satiety. I've been trying to build my plates with one portion veggies, one portion carbs (pasta, rice, whatever), and one portion protein ( chicken, shrimp, egg, etc).
    3) I started walking every other day-ish either at the gym or outside. Great way to get moving and makes me feel good :) thinking of incorporating Lucy Wyndham's 7 min workouts on the days that I don't walk. Her workouts are amazing!
    Goal is to move toward intuitive eating after a few months and continue moving my body regularly in different ways until it becomes a normal part of my lifestyle. And to be fit and healthy and happily eat what I love :)
