How to drive the Nürburgring fast: don't ever slow down except when you have to :P
Nice analysis. I had the pleasure of doing the 24hr 20 years ago and through sims have been reliving that time on a regular basis lol. I still haven't been able to put together the perfect lap but I guess it's what keeps it interesting. I love running this track in the Lotus 72D in PC2 in VR. The sound and speed is breathtaking.
What an amazing experience that must've been.
The nurburgring in historic F1 lotus cars is my fav part of PC2
@@DavidGarcia-oi5nt I was excited to hear that historic f1 cars and the Nurburgring are coming to AMS2. it will be great to see how it compares to PC2
@@splitenz1770 is the green hell coming!?!? Omg :D
Despite the depressing number of hours I’ve logged around here, I managed to learn a few things that actually made me a little faster. I thought I was already at the limit of my ability. Thank you and I hope you do some more of these types of videos. This channel is truly becoming one of the best in sim racing!!!
Love you vids mate. Started playing AC on PS4 few weeks ago, absolutely love it - despite my D29 keeps disconnecting and loses it's ffb... But your video's helped me a lot already, cheers!
Should have posted this before i recorded my video lol. Keep it up Ermin, your channel is growing big time!
Thanks Ermin, not sure how I missed this one? I've watched a couple of guides to the Nord. (Not always this superlative Vers) and there were some places where they didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Your lap does, (I think it was easier before the update, the rubbered in line isn't as easy to see now) plus it has some great specific info on dealing with the handful of bumps and other track anomalies that are just waiting to ruin your lap. Brilliant, really useful.
Yeah, looks like you love it ☺️ Thanks for the vid, nice instructions. I tried race this track just when nfs shift 1 and 2 came out. Track was impossible to me. But now I'm able to finish it almost always, and even set some times.. And yeah, i love rally too, and this is one of few only circuit tracks, that feels fun to me 🙂
Amazing video! Thank you
bruh thank you so much, I were really hoping to find that kind of guide about Nordschleife.
amazing video really helped me out ❤
Thank u this has been a great help
Thanks! Great video! And yes, please! Car Setup dor dummies!
Yess, I love this track too in rFactor 2, you very good explain this here, I know exact what you say here cause I love to drive this track too. Good driving ! and great video. I test this with the Ferrari 488 GTE whitch I drive now for some fn races. Don't know the exact differences from the GTE and GT3 Version of the cars. one tip: I drive now with VR glass since 1,5 weeks. Oh my god. You will love this game MORE after a drive with VR. It's unbeleaveable what a driving feeling you get here. I use the HP Revert G2, I can recommend this for sim driving. This track with the VR .... you can feel and drive the ups and down .. woow and look into the next corners with your glass like you do will it in real driving.
very helpful
I am so fcking surprised 😮
The Nordschleife was the first track I've learned without watching any analysis video of the track. Got about 1500km driven over it with my Audi RS3 LMS (In Assetto Corsa).
Now I feel a bit stuck because I can't improve my laptime, that is why I watched this video.
Surprisingly 98% of the breaking Points and gears are the same as my self learned racing line 😮
The only difference was the trailbreaking that I have to learn now 😅
Thank you so much for that video!
Thanks for this walkthrough! I play Assetto Corsa though and it looks like the curbs there are more unfriendly. Can you make a short video about how you setup a GT3 car for Nordschleife?
Yeah, the kerbs in AC upset cars much more than in rF2. For me touching kerbs in AC = instant death, nearly every time, and doubly so on the Ring. The track layout is very, very close between the two though - lines should be exactly the same, just be extra paranoid about touching kerbs other than the few places you specifically ride them.
Just tweak ride height and put softer springs (and than continue tweaking to your liking)
Every car run softer suspension at the ring
Yes, rF2 has a far superior tyre model, and the curb behavior between the games gives that away. The setups will vary a lot between games!
Great video - thanks,
Other sims: iRacing, AC, ACC, AMS2 - thanks
Thank you for the analysis. You must consider make another video with telemetry too. The explain will be more technic. Thanks
Super👍💕
Thanks Ermin. Can't have too many video's on the Green Hell - each one offers new little nuggets of critical information for the keen and ambitious. Every other track guide I have ever watched stated that the line to take through the Caracciola Carousel is purely a matter of personal preference. I found the fact that you will eventually bugger your diff in RL if you take a commonly recommended line to be very interesting and important. Particularly because in my sims, I like to drive them like I saved up and paid for them myself. I also learned from this that my line into the very last corner at Adenauer Forst needs revisiting. ... thanks.
One small thing that intrigues ne though, your RF2 Nords seems to have a much more dark and pronounced rubbered-in driving line that mine, which seems more freshly paved. Howso?
And lastly, am I the only one who has painstakingly memorised the Nords corner names? I cannot comprehend how people can sort out, order and take on 70 odd corners in their head, let alone discuss them, without being able to distinguish between them. Or is it that YT content makers shy off using proper corner names because it might bore viewers of seem elitist?
PS. Yes please. A guide of the GP/Endurance loop will be greatly appreciated. Is it just me who loves the Nordschleifer and hates the GP loop? But if I can achieve my ambition and evenutally begin real online racing... I'm gunna have to do it. Thanks again man,
I sped up Real Road by 15x, let it run for about an hour or two during a practice session then saved a custom 'user preference' real road state, so I don't have to wait for the track to rubber in again every time I do a session!
@@Ermz Aha! Now I'm interested. So (considering that you actually do this in RL you lucky, lucky man), how much of a difference does a rubbered in track make in RF2 and, is this rubbered in track state what you normally expect when you turn up at Nurburg? Perhaps a video on this sort of tweeking up of RF2, of which I have no idea ,might be possible?
i should probably get past the first half of the track 😂😂😂
Lauda challenge: take Nordschleife 1967 in Assetto corsa mod and try ride 6-58 on 312T. Impossible! Niki Lauda was hardball MAN.
Thanks for the vid, as I'm a bit obsessed with Group C and those cars obviously can't deal with all the kerbs so easily and I noticed there are plenty curves that go quite flat unlike GT3s, does anyone know about a followup for lower or formula cars?
Hi Ermin, please can you let me know what a good time in the Oreca car at this track is? Great channel BTW.
the Oreca LMP ? crazyyyy car :-) I can test it here but I have no setup for this car. crazy fast :-) I think a low 6 min. here or ?
Wreck fest gonna add the nordschleife? Couch car hot lap?!
Oh, kinda sad... i was particularily interested in the GP-part of the endurance and 24h versions, that´s where i probably lose alot of time w/o knowing why :) ... well, there´s hope for later videos i guess :)
why would dipping the left tires onto the lower rain gutter banking on the carousel ruin the differential in rear life?
Quick question Ermin. My track says Nürburgring 2.21 in rFactor 2. Is that the same one you are using? Mine looks a bit different.
They've definitely updated it a bit since this video.
This video should be obligatroy for open lobby races at Nordschleife...
by 'surfing' do you mean coasting?
To the AC Tourist lobby players. It’s the 1 in the middle an you’ll never learn a track if you don’t complete it 😉
Xo...
Sorry to break the 420 like count. But totally worth it. Puff puff pass
My brain: OK, I got this
My soptter: That was seven....
:SHUT UP !
Joke aside, your excellent tutorial still gives me more confidence especially for sector3, At least now I feel less likly to crash on my outlap now.
Just avoid the curbs.
Thank you! This video just saved me 2/10!
Man.. some criticism.. You're already sounding like some kind of rFactor 2 ambassador and very biased. The laser-scanned versions of other sims are as good as rFactor 2's - they are laser-scanned. And there's many reasons why rFactor 2 doesn't have many users (physics is not the reason), so please be less biased.
Edit: also this version isn't 25.96km long, it's 20km because it's not the VLN/Endurance layout
That's not criticism, sorry but you sounding hurted for some reason, because he chose to use the rFactor 2 version of Nürburgring?! Lame comment, not criticism.
Rfactor 2 has the latest laser scanned version and probably the most pronounced bumps. (ac1 in comparison feels flat like Monza)
The physics is the best, but it is not user friendly and the menu looks like gtr2 from early 2000
@@LorenzoClara97 the track surface was revamped not long ago, going by that logic iRacing has the most pronounced bumps, when they scanned the track the last revamped was from 1984.
