Love this technique. I would never have been able to resist coloring the palm trees and island but it's super effective in white. Always listen to Tim. He knows what he's talking about. I have tons of similar dies so it's just a matter of getting out my goodies and playing. I always use glossy accents for acetate. Sometimes you can see it but with waves you can kinda make a wavey design to mimic waves and act like you always intended them to show a little.
Like these cards a lot. I can feel the ocean breeze and see the palm trees swaying
I love the “ permission “‘to leave the palm trees & island white. I, too, feel like I want to color everything. But this is a great look to emphasize the waves!

I might have been the one who mentioned using the blending solution. I had recently done some backgrounds on acetate and I got some flooming of the pearls, so I went back to watch Tim’s videos and saw his tip. Thank you for reminding me to die cut the darned things. I’ve done it before, but have numerous because, like you said, I can’t stop once I get started. One tip for die cutting acetate is to put a piece of messed up card stock or printer paper behind the acetate to give the die something else to cut into. I can’t remember where I learned it from as it was a few years ago.
I can't believe that after all the times I have worked with alcohol inks, I still learned something new from you today! So thank you, I was having the same problem with flaking off. I have been spraying fixative on all my projects to keep them from transferring to everything they touch. Now I will just buy some more blending solution...🤦♀

Wow! That starfish looks like it is 3D and made out of rubber or goo. (That’s a compliment), I just can’t believe how “ real” looking it is. The blue card is beautiful. You were right to leave the palm trees white, the blues were just perfect together. Once again, we’ll done!

Love these cards! Since I’ve had the Iron deficient anemia I’ve had to be super careful. Every time someone brings sickness home from school I disinfect everything several times a day. I’m shocked my poor hands haven’t shriveled up from all the chemicals.

Just amazing colors on that acetate. Wow. I have some wave dies that are like that and that could help me change up my application with them (I think I've used them up if you get my meaning). I think the palm trees are great in white. Your coloring is always so wonderful if you had colored them I know they would have been wonderful too. But I think leaving them white was the ticket. Hope you feel better. Do you use a Neti Pot? If you don't, you should with all your allergies.
Oooo - alcohol inks on an acetate overlay! That’s brilliant! I have not seen that before. Now I must think how I can use that technique. Poor you - sick again…. Finally…..did that gold ink dry? I have an old pad from another company….it NEVER dries. I can only use it to heat emboss, but then, what’s the point?

Little late to the party, but you said the pearls need blending solution on acetate for no flaking, but can you use regular alcohol on the regular alcohol inks on acetate?

Question or thought, would double sided adhesive made putting the layers together easier with the acetate? Or is it something you would try in a similar technique? Just wondering…
I'm not sure I understand your question. Where would you out the double sided adhesive?
@@KellyTaylorCards placing it on the back of the acetate before you die cut it as you might with an intricate die . That way your not trying to get a glue to stick them together and have trouble finding the one that will work.
