I recently found that the number one thing that has helped with my ROCD is mindfulness. I don't mean sitting for ages with my eyes closed, I mean paying 100% attention to what I'm doing throughout the day. Sometimes it's difficult and it takes practice, but other times my life feels like an ASMR video. It really has helped.

I'm going to try this ,I do meditate 30mins a day which has helped alot ,but maybe trying to be mindful as much as I can will lessen my anxiety

I have been having relapses in the last weeks.. Once I feel good and the next day a thought or a trigger comes and then I feel not good again. I am sick of this circle :(

This video really resonated with me because I have ROCD and I get stuck . I don’t know how to put distance between my self and those thoughts even after years of therapy

Is it common in rOCD to feel anxious around your partner because all day you have all these negative, obsessive thoughts about your relationship, even if there is nothing wrong to him or your relationship?

Completely. I experience it all day long wether I am with him or not with him. It will get easier though, educating yourself is already a big step forward!!

I experienced this. For example, Date nights would make me anxious in the past bc I was thinking negatively and comparing all day so I was anxious when I met up with my partner

I know what you are talking about about. It happens. There's no sense to it but you always have the ability to not react to it

Hello! Can you make a video on the constant urge and obsession to confess every minor/major mistake from the past to your partner in the fear that you may be a bad partner?

I broke off an engagement recently and I'm scared that it was solely because of ROCD rather than actually being valid. At the time it felt like it was the right decision but now I'm second guessing like crazy and am back in the same anxiety cycle I was while I was in the relationship. I feel like I can't trust myself and I'm terrified that one day I'll look back and realize I made a mistake and it will be too late to get her back. She really was the most incredible person I've ever met.

Just found this page from one of your other videos, this is my second one watching (You have a new subscriber] but I did want to ask if it’s too much for a woman to hear from her [male] partner that they suffer from obtrusive thoughts stemming from rOCD or would it be too overwhelming?!

I obsess over whether I have OCD or OCPD, I used tom have obsession over swallowing my saliva and heart beat, then it went to sexual content thinking I'm gay, I sometimes read forum over and over and over again, the same text because it reassure me that I am now, I would do this for years but then I realize my problem, lack of serotonin and porn addiction, when I'm away from it my attraction to women goes up, I used to be a chronic edger to porn I would do it for hours a day, for days, weeks each day for hours and when I was done I felt like shit.

Notice which ones come from a place of compassion and wisdom. Notice which ones emerge when you’re feeling anxious, dysregulated, angry, ashamed.
Trust the former over the latter. Ultimately though, all the thoughts and feelings you have can provide clues or be useful to reflect on at times, and at the same time all thoughts and feelings are like reflections of tiny, tiny fragments of you. So you can’t truly trust any of them to be the “truth”.
It’s a bit paradoxical! And i think it points to another idea which is that our minds and feelings are always changing, and we have to try and adapt, accept and flow with the fluctuations as gracefully as we can.
