Me, part of a competitor for clan for years, played hours of training every night. Online matches and tournaments. It was a BIG scene. But he’s right it was for the fun and I think it was more fun back then.

Oh my god, you're right. I made a post-apocalyptic setting for a world I'm creating, and the cause of the planet's inhospitality is literally called "dusting". Mainly so I can use the saying "when the dust has settled" as a pun.

Thanks Dave Johnston! Out of my 1,200 + hours in csgo Dust II is the map I play about 90% of the time. Never have I played a better map in any shooter ever and I believe this map is the greatest multiplayer map of all time. I was going through depression in high school because I didn't have many friends and was constantly bullied. But when I came home and booted up a game of csgo on Dust II I could forget about all my problems if only for a little while. Again thank you for the countless hours of entertainment and creating the greatest map of all time!

Cs 1.3 cyber cafe PC bar 32 player server with underground trance playing. The great years of Cs
Man, those very good times... I aleays went to Kosovo in my holidays, cause my parents came from there. After the Yugoslawian wars, 2001, we were playing 1.6 there. In some underground pc bars, where people got violent while playing against others sitting next to them. Our 1.6 characters had custom models. The CT force was modeled as serbian military, while the T force was like UÇK Albanian para military. Do you remember the sound-mods you could unstall? "Heeaaadddshoooottt" - "Killing spree" - "total domination" etc? In that customer version of Kosovo those sounds were Albanian and serbian cursing. I really miss those days. I mean: real war is bullshit! Those countries should take important political and socity problems down to a match making 5on5 in Cs:go or 1.6!

Damn, this was like watching a documentary of my childhood. I didn't know Dust and Aztec have been completely removed, that's quite sad. I remember many late nights playing the atmospheric Aztec and Dust with a friend for hours and hours.

For me Prodigy and Dust are still my favorites (I started CS with CSS)
Prodigy was decent to say the least, only bombsite A was the viable option to plant the bomb.

Been playing CS for 11 years now. I have played through every official version of Dust and Dust 2. I am not even counting the server version like Dust 2x2 and stuff like that. Man I got a smile on my face when reliving all those memories 😌

i didn't even start playing video games until 2016, and only discovered counter-strike in 2019
I played cs 1.6 back in 2012 and still play it until this day
20 years of dust. I'm sober I promise! but honestly, I loved de_dust on CS 1.5. Was my favorite map. de_dust 2 seemed different for me back then. Now, de_dust seems more alien than the second one. RIP original dust. You were the start of my teenage years.

This is one of the first 3kliksphilip videos I've WANTED to watch of yours, save a few! I'm more of a 2 and 1kliksphillip sorta guy. Despite my lack of interest in counter strike, the history of it's most known map is interesting and the video didn't disappoint at all. I wish I did enjoy this game though, the thought of having a whole new kliks channel... Now that would be amazing.

valve pls dont remove shortdust, its one of the most fun wingman maps due to its endless tricks, sneaky headshotangles and boost-spots, also its a reminder of the old times

Still remember finding out about CS for the first time, with my younger brother around 2000 or mabye 1999, in a PC shop with PC's connected via LAN modems.
We were stunned that in a game we could actually see each others, it was a revolution for us. And that evening we spent a lot of money and time playing, then going home again to get some extra money, and go back to the shop.
The very first map we played was militia. Internet wasn't a common thing in Syria until after 2000 so we would save some money to go and play it multiplayer until we got another PC in 2003. But PC gaming network shops thrived a lot back then.
Being 40 now and having played CS since beta 3 in 99 this gets me right in the feels. I spent so much time playing Dust 1 and de_rats. So much fun.
Dust 2 is the only reason why I still have CS GO installed on my computer. Thanks for the video!

I played Dust I, Italy, Office and Aztec way back in 2006 at 14 years of age and I didn't know Dust was the mother of Bombsite mode, which is what the standard game is today. Damn, time does fly... Thanks for this video!
As a cs player since its 1.0 i felt really nostalgic... I now play 1.6 and GO... U've got my thumbs up after seeing u've presented Unreal's Facing Worlds... Greatest map of the FPS at the time, and my favorite... I felt you've neglected some other variants, F.E. dust2002 or dust2_night; the night version was fun because u could play it by heart when it came out... Dust2 was and still the most balanced map in wholesome FPS MP genre...

Around the time of Operation Hydra I started really getting into the game. I loved Aztec and everybody else was like "but why though..?". Aftef all this time I still miss it so much. Wish I could've played it more.

I have been playing since June of 1999 and I believe that De_Dust and De_Aztec should have stayed as they will be missed. I stop playing when they blocked custom skinning and sound mods whilst charging real money for skins that any eight year old can sketch on a napkin. Goodbye my Ultra-high-res realistic weapon skins and sound packs. R.I.P. Counter-Strike.

I can barely remember playing dust, waiving my "usp tactical" left and right only aiming for the heads, trying to go A directly from overpass.
Playing de_havana on rare occasions and being baffled by those doors. A lot of other maps that didn't made it to anything relevant today ... seeing it change is something, but seeing it stay the same is the best feeling ever. My mate rarely likes d2 but boy, I love the souvenir of child me.
edit : Also I took the game up again recently and I'm disappointed at the lack of anything in tunnels in d2.
back in 2014 i was 10 years old, me and my friends hop on to a computer shop and play dust 1 & 2 in old computers
i can see the how these maps now today were influencing more other games more often in CS:GO

I first remember playing Couner-Strike back in August 1999. I just moved to South Korea and they had these PC game rooms. Everyone was playing it and I have been hooked since. it was either this game, Star-craft, or Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. God I loved all those games

@@yilmaz.design oh I believe you. But the fun custom servers I used to go to no longer exist and the friends I made move on to greener pasture. Just saddens me sometimes. It felt like the best moments in my life like playing on one of cc_nipper's maps and using custom sprays as memes.

I stopped playing CS around 2007 when I went overseas. Purely by coincidence I started playing again in 2017, only to discover my two favourite maps (Aztec and Dust) had been removed. My life's great tragedy, I still haven't fully recovered and mourn the loss to this day. 😭
