That's sweet brotha! If you can paint, and also fix defects you are a master haha. I do both, and both are totally different! Paint correction is a pain in the mass 😂
Right both is an artform and takes years to even come close to mastering. Thank you for watching. If you need any touchup paint or painted autobody parts go to www.ReveMoto.com
when I was in collision repair school, they taught us to cut runs with the blade 90° to the panel and drag it..NEW BLADES ALWAYS.. don't know if this is relevant or can help some people..this technique can get you real close to flat first before sanding
😂 i too got really good at fixing runs but man a slicked out panel looks so much better 😂 eventually they became rare but when they happen i feel like everything that week gets one
at first, I thought the sanding would take away the sparkles. Does sanding remove any layer of paint/metal, or only if you apply enough pressure, and do it long enough?
Hey there! The base paint (colored paint) and metallics/sparkles are usually the first few layers of paint, then on top of all that there should be a clear coat to protect the paint and metal (or plastic) car part. So to answer your question, if there is proper clear coat coverage on top, you should be able to buff/polish it without any issues since you're just removing the clear coat. Of course, if you keep going at it like you mentioned, you can burn through all that top coat and burn into the base/sparkle paint so just want to be careful there.
I have some heavy spots and I can’t tell if it’s the clear or the main coats. How do you tell if it’s the clear or the main coat? If it isn’t the clear I’m assuming I’m screwed. (This is for a game controller not a car but I’m using painters touch 2x clear.)
Only way to know s to start sanding. But if it's not clear, it's OK just keep sanding it Smooth and reclear it. As long as you don't sand all the way through the base, you can just clear it.
A split second before you do the cut away with your thumb in the scene you can still see the high/low... BondoBilly would've wet sanded with 1k and then cut and buffed it out properly..
Depending on your clear 24 hours for save practice wait 48 hours. Make sure the temp in your area doesn't drop below 75 or you will need to wait longer.
Oh wow, I didn't know that you can use a knife to remove too much clear coats. If I did on mine I will use the knife to remove and use 2000 sandpaper and then sander to remove it. Thanks for sharing!!
I did 2000 grit and it left darker spots. I think you need to go up to at least 3000 grit for it to blend in well after buffing with compound. I hope.. because i now have dark spots where i repaired stone chips after sanding.
I have a question I’m trying to stencil spray paint a logo on my car , do I have to remove clear coat that’s already on car for it to be able to stick without ruining the paint that’s already on the car ?? What grit should I use plz help :(
You can use existing paint and varnish as a primer and paint over it. Just sand the surface you want to paint over with 800-1500 (try higher grit first). You will want to cover it with 2k clear coat afterwards, that’s it.
No need to remove clearcoat. Sand down area with 600 grit for paint and if you clear coating panel. Use red scuff or 1000 grit rest of panel that is just getting clear coat
I could never bro i just could not bring myself to do it i rather do the bondo method even tho i have never tried it but it seems safer for me as a painter you do not want to restart a paint job because you went too deep into the clear.
Ha, you burnt through. It needs repainted. At least it appears you did. Either way I can still see it. And to anyone thinking this is a how too. It's not. You never should sand clear in straight lines, except on the raised area only. It's easy to fool people on video and pictures. But I guarantee not even seeing this video, hand me that fender and in 2 seconds I could show you where he did thisv"repair".
This mate is a BLOODY professional. That's awesome mate.
Man appreciate the awesome comment

For sure, new blades. Need that cut to be precise to make sure you don't hurt yourself too

Excellent work
Looks clean? By chance it is possible to spray primer and metallic paint with a lpvl spray gun?

@@ReveMotopop o😅
That's as clean as it gets!
Thank you
I kept thinking “nope, didn’t get it off all the way” and he’d go into another step till it was undeniable 🤣

This is magic bro 😎 good 😊 job thanks 🦃👌
Appreciate you for watching, brother!
Bro its still there 😂😂
You can NEVER get all of it out
@@cesiumionI can. Although I haven't had to in many years.
I can still see it
Better to do 1500 with a flat wood paint stick then 3000 and big
Buff**
I doubt it...
I’ll follow when it’s fully removed….
Thanks for following!
Yeah, it's definitely not fully removed.
I work at a shop that removes this every now and then.

I don’t know who BondoBilly is but tell him to send us a tutorial video
@@ReveMoto he has a channel lol
What color is that I like it
How long did yoy wet sand with 3000 to get the 2000 out?
What’s the paint code??
Buddy, how much pressure should be applied on that? And If the direction has some differences on the effect😊
Oh man not much at all just let the blade guide you
Nice
How long do you wait before doing this?
24 hours
How long after spraying clear did you wait to sort out drips and sand off orange peel?
Depending on your clear 24 hours for save practice wait 48 hours. Make sure the temp in your area doesn't drop below 75 or you will need to wait longer.
If I wanted to spray re-clear coat , do I need to wet sand the old clear coat off or can I spray over it??
Yes sand down with 1000 grit and you can spray clear
Oh wow, I didn't know that you can use a knife to remove too much clear coats. If I did on mine I will use the knife to remove and use 2000 sandpaper and then sander to remove it. Thanks for sharing!!
No problem just make sure it’s a new razor blade
sand it by hand wet sand it

Good work not to take the paint off that edge
Appreciate the comment! A good blade definitely helps
Is this technique Hammer down in the clear coat ?
Sorry not understanding the question.
Have you ever had a car where the surface feels like sand paper? My cars roof has that from sun damage.
If run is still soft you risk ripping paint off by doing that
There is always risk doing corrections, but with the proper technique. You lessen the error that could possibly happen
I could never bro i just could not bring myself to do it i rather do the bondo method even tho i have never tried it but it seems safer for me as a painter you do not want to restart a paint job because you went too deep into the clear.
There are a lot of different tricks to use. Do the one you comfortable with
Thank you big boss. I’m painting my headlight trims on my e46 and I over sprayed on clear coat and started to drip
Yeah that will surely happen! This trick will help out
what if the clear coat drip isn’t clear? what if it’s like, milky white? how do you fix that?
If it’s milky white your better off re painting. That is probably solvent pop or improper mixture of the clear
@@ReveMoto daaaammmnnn lol welp. there goes 60 hours of work down the drain
Can you do this on a metal door?
Yes this can be done on a metal door
What about on door handles?😊
Depending where it’s located this could work
How to buy
Go to www.ReveMoto.com for the Touchup paint
I could see it still no beuno amigo, if look on the bottom angle
Really 🤔
Yup look at when you switch the angle from the video from the bottom towards the end when you move the bumper up
you make it look too easy

Bayang-bayang cahaya x tepat
Tiny little bit acetone will do the same job 😊
Ew
The music has got to go, but good video
We are trying out new music on each video
Don't burn it
Absolutely no drip
Shame about the colour tho
This color is super cool
Fluked out
Would this work with 400 + 1k grit ? I messed up my laquer and it smeared everywhere on my fairings
No I would try 1000-2000 first cuz if you did 400 you gonna end you repainting. If the laquer is surface it should do fine with 1000
Facile
Thank you
