Whitesnake/Lyrics Born bassist Uriah Duffy works on a bass arrangement of this great tune. Equipment: Lakland DJ Boss Reverb TC Electronics RH450 Rig Zoom H2 Canon SD1100
14 years later and I think I just finally figured out the nuance of the line at 1:05. Stunning work - I always come back to this. I must be responsible for half the views. Just inspiring.
Very cool thanks man! I’m driving now so I can’t check out that timestamp just yet, but hit me up on Instagram and we can always chat about it. In the meantime, look up my name with the song, Northstar, by Points North play along. That’s a fun one :-).
Watching this 10 years after you uploaded it, i have to say it is perfection. Lovely sound and the cars passing by in the backround gives it a nice touch. If you are reading this: thank you for these beautiful 4 minutes and 37 seconds (:
had the pleasure of seeing uriah perform this at the crossroads at BM this year and it was fantastic. a real highlight of the week for me. it was a very intimate and touching yet virtuosic performance.
wow Uriah... this is by far the best rendition of Human Nature on bass that I've seen. The other guys don't come close. Bravo!!! Bravo!!! Fan for life now.
Remarkable use of dynamics, it's tempting to play a song with such a good melody at a constant volume but the way how he has fluctuated it is fantastic
It's too bad I left the East Bay in 2001, that was the time you were coming into your own. Your an outstanding artist and I want to wish you continued success!
He has stated in the past that he prefers a little buzz in his setup. It's from the low string action. Sounds great to me, adds just the right amount of sizzle.
A clear example of bassist not getting appreciated enough... John Mayer played Human Nature at M.J.'s funeral, and it didnt even sound close to this awesomeness. And Mayer had i whole ensemble behind him.
Man this has inspired me to work my own thing up. I'm thinking about Can you stand the rain by new edition. I should be done by 2015 :-) Funkbro is right. This is genius.
If you were dressed in a White tux like Morgan Freeman in all those "God" roles he plays in movies, I could imagine that Michael would have arrived at the Pearly Gates to you playing the most Epic Cover of, in my opinion, Michael's gift to us all. Big Up Uriah!!!
Being a drummer, I sometimes which I could create such beautiful melodic songs such as this one or many others but, all I need is to groove. I'd love to play you someday man.
It was actually written by Steve Pocaro of Toto fame and John Bettis lyric writer given to Quincy Jones as a rough draft on cassette with just music and the why why part and some da da da da parts then given to Bettis to write lyrics in two days ! Has been covered by Miles Davis ahn John Mayer to name a few.
Just lovely.
