"Too repetitive," "too tan" - you guys know this is based on AN ACTUAL BUILDING, right? You can't just make some of it hot pink, and add a bunch of wheels and glass windows.

@@EricGallant24 thankfully the gap is starting to go back down a bit. it's down 6 cents within a year, so legos about to be a bit cheaper!

Loved Lego as a child and now as a 30 year old adult I recently bought a small set and I noticed one important thing is that it really takes you out of our digital lives and zones you out to just use your mind to do problem solving skills and also the enjoyment/accomplishment of building something. Love it haha

Building a new lego set always reset my maturity. as soon i open a new set, i squeal like a kid again.
lol i used to not even know how special legos were i always took them apart and ruined the set and built some crazy shit with the bricks hahaha, now i just chill smoke some 🌲 and build legos for fun

Ryan is an immature child who never grew up. He has never had to earn or work for all the things he has, so the concept of throwing a set many people could only dream of having off a roof just says it all. He will grow up one day, perhaps. But I’m not confident.
Solid Brix and Jang are far more mature and interesting content producers.

Yes the enjoyment of the build is a factor for buying it. But mostly for how it looks is why you would be buying it. So I totally agree with you

I am building this now. I very much enjoy the quiet solitude of the build. I only do 3-4 bags at a time, then take a break. So it takes me a week to build the whole thing. Which is fine, I’m in no rush. In fact, I get depressed when finished, because I have nothing left to build.

It also looks like it has some pretty nice pieces to reuse although i don't think i could bring myself to take it appart lol
It'd be cool if it included a Maximus minifigure. Also is it minifigure scale because I'm thinking of getting it and restoring it for a gladiator moc if it is.
I hope lego do more stuff like this because a set of the sphinx and pyramids of Giza would be awesome

This and the Titanic set are the ultimate Lego flex. If you have one of these, perfectly assembled, sitting on a dedicated pedestal table in your living room or office, you’re officially an intellectual.

Nice to see someone actually take pride, care and joy of this set. Main reason I'm always enjoying your content, you are mature and act like an adult who generally enjoys building.
I am building it right now. One sitting? Yikes, no way. It is repetitive BUT anything worthwhile is. I have noticed that any big structure is going to be repetitive. Most of my skyscraper mocs are. Totally loving the set. Looks amazing even though I am not done with it.
Me: "this is cool, I can't afford it, but one day.."
Something deep down: "get two sets and build a restored colosseum"

Price to piece ratio is far better than any other big set... so I have to admit this is a good price. And it looks amazing. My only complaint is that they had a golden opportunity to use mini figs for the statues in some of the remaining windows.
Thats a great idea! But the reason lego didnt do that is because this lego set isnt minifig scale, if it was it would be gigantic

You should review some of the brickvault builds. I think it would be super interesting to see what you think of them.
Great video, but one thing that I cannot comment on is the fact that you have the CW black series Ashoka Tano and the Death Watch Mandalorian and one other figure (hard to figure out who it is with the emporers shuttle in the way 😂). That is so cool, as a Black Series collector, I have been searching for those figures and I haven't found them yet because the distribution of them is so awful and uneven and the scalpers are selling them for so much (4x the price in some cases 😥). I just wanted to point that out, because that's all I was watching the whole video, great video David I remember when you were Legoboy123456789 back in the day 😂 Damn, anyway, have a wonderful day

The use of negative space in this lego set is absolutely brilliant. That's all i have to say. I cant afford it and i probably wouldn't buy it if i did, but MAN is that a well designed set.
I really want to see a size comparison between this and the 2017 falcon as I can’t find a comparison anywhere.

I think this set is phenomenal. I actually completed this set at 12 years old, this was a very challenging set for me but the end result is fantastic. This is one of my most favorite sets because of the details and the size of it.

I think the big difference between this and the millennium falcon is the love and passion put into the build. Everyone is obsessed with this because it’s big, while the Star Wars build is about detail and love for the movies
For the lego fans sure. But the architectural and classical civilisation fans love this for the detail and their love for the original structure. (it's just about what stuff you're interested in)
I have built it and my only problem is when you are building the base the flat pieces underneath always pop off for me

You can get one on eBay right now for about an extra 100$. That’s what i did and bro it’s worth it. It’s a cool piece. It’s repetitive but each section is unique so it’s never the same

Would it be worthwhile to invest in this set and let it sit closed in the box for a couple of years?
That would be a fairly hefty investment. Lego might keep this around for years. However, once it does go I can’t see them doing it again so if you’re happy to play the *very long* game, and you’ve got the money, then it may just be worth it.
At the end of the day, let’s say you spend $550 now on it. All you’ve done is convert liquid cash into an asset. If you turn around and sell it for retail or just $600, you’ll have made your money back anyway. I can’t see you losing regardless of what happens, it’s more a case of whether it’s truly going to pay off to make it worth spending.
Me, personally, I go for quantity with some of the lower Star Wars sets. The appreciation on a £12 battle pack leads to a better result. But that’s just me!
