@@MrLocke-bk3om I think it sounds pretty promising actually, and Cassian himself is an interesting character that deserves some more fleshing out. He started out as a Separatist child soldier during the Clone Wars, and immediately joined a rebel cell after the fall of the Republic. He's pretty much living proof that the CIS was the benchmark for what would become the Rebel Alliance. If nothing else it's a pretty unique prompt that will shine further light onto an aspect of the Star Wars galaxy that hasn't been shown yet. Honestly I don't see how a Cassian Andor series could only be seen as a corporate move and The Mandalorian isn't, the end goal for both is pretty much the same thing.

I noticed it right away. He most likely took it off of a dead Mandalorian since he was in charge of that war that was waged as stated in the season finale.
Honestly, my favorite part of the season was the beginning of Episode 8-- loved the nonchalant banter between the scout troopers. It was just so subtle and unexpected from what we've seen of the stormtrooper trope.
It was so good! It was hilarious and somehow still kind of grounding for the story. I think there's a lot of room for humanizing storm troopers in this show, especially in a post-Empire Galaxy.
Does anybody know who did the voice work for the two storm troopers? One of them sounded like Jason Sudeikis, but I couldn’t figure out the other one. IMDb was no help, either Update Edit: Just did some quick research and it turns out the two Scout Troopers were, in fact, voiced by Jason Sudeikis and Adam Pally.
Judge Dredd, Karl Urban never took his lid off that movie even when he was injured. And that Judge Dredd was a better story than Stallone’s Judge Dredd. The first scene, he wears a helmet for 10 minutes. Rest is Sylvester Stallone movie.
I didn’t know it whas Pedro Pascal starring yet I could tell it was him, his voice is iconic.

"This is the way". I never felt this emotional about Star Wars since the Knights of Old Republic series of RPG. I never felt this excited about the next thing, the next bit, the next lore, the next scene. This series is amazing.
Nicholas Bumgardner It’s gonna suck the RPGs can do what films can’t I think it’s best to just bring KOTOR 1&2 RPGs back into cannon instead it’s a safer route imo it would please the fans also and also cool to have maybe the people who worked on the fallen order respawn to work on KOTOR 3 and Chris Avellone as well probably I think it’s a better idea let’s be real here can a film do a better job then what an RPG can the answer is no so I believe it should being the great RPGs back into cannon plus there’s gonna a bunch of changes and a bunch of characters like Mical , Jolee , Mission and Zaalbar , juhani , T3M4 for the first film he’s important to KOTOR 2 I thought of it and it’s not a good idea especially when majority of games to film adaption sucks like the Super Mario Bros or you list I’m not gonna make hell no so umm yea make the two RPGs cannon or don’t do it then don’t bring KOTOR why bring back the same stories if they said they discontinued the EU cause they want to make their own stories so I think they should keep their word on it it’s stupid they contradict time and time again I swear in the TLJ dictionary or whatever it revealed bits of who Snoke is and were he came from it doesn’t go into detail of how is a great force user how he found the remains of the galactic empire and turned into the first order so umm uhhh yee idk don’t trust Disney they wait what ? why I say that idk just think it’s a bad idea for them to do a bad KOTOR movie adapt I think it’s gonna ruin Revan’s legacy even more so then what the SWTOR mmo and the Revan novel did
This series actually made me emotional several times. The best series I've seen in a while... The atmosphere, the camerawork, the music, the storyline, baby yoda, and The Mandalorian who's such a cool perfect character. 10/10
Or.....they do the fan theory Jar Jar was a villain/sith the whole time and it turns out he and Palpatine did the war on Naboo because Jar Jar hates humans and wanted Naboo back for the Gungans
From what I've heard that isn't too far to what happened to him. After the Clone Wars Jar Jar was blamed for the Emperor's rise to power and was pretty much treated as a Pariah by the people of Naboo. With no real home, he began to wonder the galaxy and became something of a clown/entertainer for refugee children fleeing the oppression of the Empire.
This girl from My workplace told me she was so excited to see EP9 and her favourite SW character is JarJar..........I wish she could see how My eyes rolled.
Yeah, I don't get it either. I liked all the episodes, and while I guess that one is my least favorite, I don't think it's bad. Certainly not as bad as he described it.
"I was wondering if that had ever happened before. I had a hard time recalling any movies where the hero was wearing a mask the whole time." V For Vendetta. Nuff said.
best part of the whole serie is when those stormtroopers try to shoot a bucket but miss every shot. And just listening to stormtroopers being bored at their job was just really funny to me

TheBunBun54321 The Darksaber was an ancient and unique black-bladed lightsaber created by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian ever inducted into the Jedi Order, prior to 1019 BBY. The weapon was kept in the Jedi Temple after Vizsla's passing, but members of House Vizsla stole the saber in a conflict with the Jedi during the fall of the Old Republic. The Darksaber was passed down, generation to generation, by the ancestors of Pre Vizsla, who held onto the weapon even after the pacifist ideals of the New Mandalorians replaced the warrior ways of Mandalore.
Biggest problem with the sequels I feel is they really didn't have a solid clue of what the storyline for those 3 movies should be. Here meanwhile, Favreau & Filoni seem like they have a plan set, and are slowly peeling back layer by layer to show us.

I thought the arc with Mando was so good. Droids killed his family and destroyed his village and in the first episode he doesn’t trust them. He hates all droids but then Quiil and IG11 show him that a droid is only as good or bad as it’s master and creator. I never understood why everyone in the Star Wars galaxy has to be related. It's a HUGE galaxy and it is so refreshing to see the mandolorian just be his own character. Plus he's a Mandolorian. These people are some of the most badass warriors in the galaxy and if memory serves Jango wasn't a mandolorian but only owned the armour.
@@yowatchie Kind of think Clone Wars and Rebels are on par to be honest... Rebels had a lot of mediocre episodes, but Clone Wars had a fair share of those more forgettable episodes too imo, peak Rebels is similarly amazing to Clone Wars. It surely has smaller budged and definitely isn't able to "flex" as much like Clone Wars did, but if you look past that and some of the weaker episodes, Rebels is as great of a show as Clone Wars is.
@@yowatchie Agreed, the Clone Wars is wonderful. I think Rebels was mediocre, though it definitely felt like the creators couldn't do as much and were limited creatively as to what they could do, and the quality suffered big time because of it. It had a few really good moments, but the rest of it was just bland.
It's a total difference to direct a show versus a movie, however Jon Favreau proved with Iron Man and Avengers that he can handle big stuff very, very well. He even worked on The Orville and "Cowboys & Aliens"; the last one wasn't that good, but entertaining... I preferred Outlander...
Unpopular opinion: Filoni is overrated. Clone wars was killer *in the later seasons* but seasons one and two... Kinda lame. I would chalk it up to him learning his craft over time, but then he made Rebels, an overhyped show lurching onward solely on the power of nostalgia and it's pre-teen audience. That said, I don't necessarily mean he's awful at what he does, he's competent directing small scale television, but Hollywood is a completely different beast.
George Teal Fair point. He seems to be pretty good now at crafting an overarching story, but even now I hear plenty of people say the episodes he actually directed were the weakest, much like Chris here. Maybe he’s better in a Feige-esque role: helping build the story, but leaving other more experienced people to actually tell it.
@@gteal24 Oh absolutely agreed. He seemed to forget that the reason people loved clone wars was the relationships and thematic exploration. @@kokoro7996 oh, the sequels definitely did, the difference is: disney has a huge group of producers and writers (a lot of them) that will control every aspect of the story to their taste, not allowing any sense of originality or artistry, just "what will make us more money." In that regard, it's close to what Lucas did with the prequels, except he didn't have any plan whatsoever (he said he wrote the movies around an idea he got of a kid podracing... and added more and more things around it) but also wanted the movie to make the most money out of it from toys and memorabilia. The originals weren't perfect but they were purely challenged with endless issues and lack of $, which makes the best art; The Mandalorian, IMO, is the best sum of the OT, prequels and sequels without any of their issues, not perfect, but it gets the sweet spot.

@@kaspersaldell I didn't like episode 8 ... I though it was kind of horrible. Yeah, there are certain good qualities to it but as a whole ... It was disappointing. Can someone explain to me why most of the empire is wiped out by one single droid that endangers baby yoda by putting him in the center of the action?? Or why the empire attempts to murder baby yoda multiple times despite him being their main objective? Even if he is still of use to them when he's dead ... Why would you risk it? ... Burning him wouldn't leave much to work with btw ... Gustavo Fringe didn't really contribute anything nor was he a menace. The joke about stormtroppers not hitting their target was an excellent way to kill any tension of the so called finale ... The pay off of Mandos childhood incident was also underwhelming. Never been too crazy about the Mandalorians from the SW universe, but I just binged this show and I'm a fan now. This show gives me hope for the future of SW.
Nathan Ross your comment completely hit it on the nail. I was rewatching the original trilogy and what makes it special is not these movies have great dialogue or acting, but that you can tell everyone had fun making the film and people senses this vibe.
Gaddai The Rage Harrison Ford hated working on these movies. He liked the paycheck, though... The reason that The Mandalorian is (mostly) good is because the creators most likely had creative freedom and time. There’s also a lot less pressure on a tv show to “perform” than a movie, since tv shows just need hype to sell ad space (which is almost like guaranteed money), and not box office revenue from (fickle) public audiences.
The Fetts have always been Mandalorian. The only time that was refuted was by the Mandalorian prime minister; who was a pacifist and rejected the warlike mandalorian ways of old, so of course he would deny that Jango was a mandalorian to avoid the bad press; considering Jango was one of the most famous bounty hunters in the galaxy.
@@thenobletaco4232 George Lucas has stated many times that they are not Mandalorian. Yes, the Fetts are Mandalorian, but Jango TOOK the Fett name and armor, it's not his original name. He did this to disgrace the Fetts and all of Mandalore.

@@pulkmees You know, you may not like the prequels but some of the best stories, characters and content form star ears come from that era through games and stuff
What is amazing with Pedro Pascal is that with his full armour and helmet on and the character's generally stoic demeanor, he can still perfectly convey the mood of his character with body language (like for example the annoyance about the talkativeness of the blue bounty character in the first episode). His character is more compelling than all of the other sequel characters, with the exception of Kylo Ren. How he manages to be that charming when we don't even see his face and he never talks much is a miracle.
People underestimate how easy it is to become invested in a faceless protagonist. Easier, in a way, since we can give them any face we want. In fact, we do it every time we read a book.
I wholeheartedly agree BUT it is a pretty big feat production-wise that they got a well known actor to play a character that almost never shows his face since that’s a pretty big no no in Hollywood. It’s part of the reason why MCU heroes seem to never use their damn masks (I’m looking at you, Spider-Man)
@@tpampouk He does mention Dredd, with the caveat that you at least saw his chin. I would consider V to be more an antihero than a hero; Portman was the hero of that flick.
@@AmateurSpaceman I think you're confusing Hero with "Main Character" or audience surrogate. V is definitely the "Hero" of the story. Hes the protagonist of the narrative. It's his story, but we're being told his story through Eveys perspective because they decided that the viewpoint of someone who becomes convinced of Vs revolution is a better narrative for their story than just being from the viewpoint of V because it would've removed his mystery
When I saw the first episode I got madly in love from the first sight. It has such an old school vibe that is extremely in fashion lately and it's like a reminiscence to the old original trilogy which was in my opinion the best and the only one I like. The story structure of this show reminded me a lot of Clone Wars where there would be a story arc for a few episodes and then we would take a break from that arc for a few unrelated episodes that usually set stuff up for the future and then we eventually return back to that story arc.

I was so confused what was happening lol, it was completely unexpected and I loved every second of it.
I'm not sure how much of that scene was Taika Waititi's idea, but it definitely felt like his handiwork.
IMDb was no help, either
Update Edit: Just did some quick research and it turns out the two Scout Troopers were, in fact, voiced by Jason Sudeikis and Adam Pally.
Kind of wishing for a show from a Storm Trooper perspective now. Sort of like that storyline from EA's Battlefront 2 but... Not crappy.

@@jamieg103 Honestly Lucas had no idea what he was creating; half the lore in Star Wars comes from the Expanded Unvierse and though not cannon anymore Lucasarts (Who maintains the lore of Star Wars) are pretty okay to take things from it when it suits them.
When he quoted boss nass I got goosebumps
You didn’t remember V for Vendetta? That’s a perfectly acted Hero who never shows his face.
I don't know why he said never shows his face when they did show his face. Also another minor unknown character not seen without mask on...um Darth Vader(until ep6). Prequels don't count for me.

You know, you may not like the prequels but some of the best stories, characters and content form star ears come from that era through games and stuff
Came here for this comment!!!! V is the man
@@a.d8509 what is star ears?
@@Jmgjgdjd5 nice.
V in V for vendetta wearing the mask the whole time and the move also did the great job.
Cindy Chang True, BUT he was talking about the hero, and that’s Nathalie Portman’s character, not V
Also Hugo Weaving as V had a very expressive body language and one of the best voice acting I have ever heard
Came here for this.
Trooper punches Baby Yoda.
Me hearing Palpatine's voice: *Wipe them out... All of them...*
No redemption for him
Pedro Pascal should’ve won an Emmy for Narcos. He’s is an incredible actor!
Chris found a way to say he grew up with The Mandalorian lol
People underestimate how easy it is to become invested in a faceless protagonist. Easier, in a way, since we can give them any face we want. In fact, we do it every time we read a book.
I wholeheartedly agree BUT it is a pretty big feat production-wise that they got a well known actor to play a character that almost never shows his face since that’s a pretty big no no in Hollywood. It’s part of the reason why MCU heroes seem to never use their damn masks (I’m looking at you, Spider-Man)

Movie not showing the main character's face: V for Vendetta
Dredd 2012 , too
@@tpampouk He does mention Dredd, with the caveat that you at least saw his chin.
I second that V is the main character.
Halloween franchise, Friday the 13th franchise
When I saw the first episode I got madly in love from the first sight. It has such an old school vibe that is extremely in fashion lately and it's like a reminiscence to the old original trilogy which was in my opinion the best and the only one I like. It's so old school and cozy I feel like I'm a kid again while watching it.
Score of this show is so memorable. Can’t wait for Season 2!
Blessed show, can't get enough of the child
damn that sounds so wrong
Pause then play
The story structure of this show reminded me a lot of Clone Wars where there would be a story arc for a few episodes and then we would take a break from that arc for a few unrelated episodes that usually set stuff up for the future and then we eventually return back to that story arc.
I love how they brought in veteran actors like Carl Weathers and Nick Nolte
I'd love to see a review of 'The Witcher' season 1 from Chris.
Is it already over?
