Two beautiful, sometimes angelic sometimes stunning, voices surf on a roaring wave of extraordinary music. Well... a definition of Band Maid I like.
"Sense" is the opening theme intro to the anime Platinum End, if you don't know yet. This is their 3rd or 4th time having their music used in an anime.
Was there a 4th? I know Yu-Gi-Oh Vrains (ED) - Glory, Log Horizon S3 (OP) - Different, and Platinum End (OP) - Sense. I know they did have the theme song for a drama Perfect Crime - Bubble, if you meant that?
@@gradyshmalady8284 ... My memory is hazy, but I believe the 4th is their song "Carry On Living" as an ending for the Kuizu anime. I would not be surprised if they will be commissioned for a 5th one eventually.

I like to characterize Band-Maid as "sneaky progressive" On surface level people hear a catchy hard rock/pop punk vibe but when you listen as a musician you hear all kinds of cool stuff, off time syncopations, time sig changes, etc. I love the exit from the solo section here, it sounds like the band is following each other off a cliff lol. You need to check out the Unseen World album if you haven't. Giovanni is a great song in their more progressive vein, I tend to think Kanami has a nice pile of Mr. Bungle cd's for inspiration ;) Kanami Tono is in fact a genius IMO. Obviously all of BM contribute to the final product but it all starts with Kanami. As strong as she is as a guitarist, her composition skills are even higher level.

Organized chaos. That's the current Band-Maid. They had it before but it's a lot more prevalent now. I think traditional Japanese music has some influence. It must right? I just watched an anime all about the Samisen and at first I didn't "get it' but then after listening a bit I understood. Organized Chaos.
Kanami (lead guitar, composer) also composed the orchestral intro to the song. She did reach out to peers when she had questions. Fans sometimes refer to this newer style as controlled chaos.

This song "SENSE" was written and composed by BAND-MAID as the theme song of the anime "Platinum End".
"Platinum End" is a story that when a god changes, 13 god candidates are selected as angels and fight, and the last one left is the god.
The 13 god candidates fight with wings that can fly faster than light, a red arrow that grabs the heart, and a white arrow that destroys everything.
The wings that appear in the "SENSE" Music Video are conscious of the wings of the god candidate, and the spotlight represents the arrow of the god candidate.
If you listen again with such background knowledge, you can understand the goodness of this song further with the playing technique of BAND-MAID.

Great reaction and you were correct, that opening was for an anime, Platinum End. As good as that was, I think the other two songs off the EP were a bit better.
It was a commissioned piece for an anime series called Platinum Arrow.
