i love the song and v but the mv is a bit to much with the making out scenes. i dont get why american labels feel the need to ALWAYS use that element. and even if there is zero talk about anything sexual there this is still a woman in the video, a love interest. like for all Jk´s MV´s i mean the lyrics from latto and jack was to much but hey we still love jk, and then the standing next to you came out and it was really good but still they just needed to add this woman who had no meaning to the song. she was just there she didn´t look like a girl he was talking about just a random girl or something, idk her role in that mv. whenever it´s a mv produced in korea there is no woman at all witch also make no sense. i just wish it would be more natural and not like a recipe, that there needs to be a female in the mv. for this mv it made sense there would be a love interest so the girl is okay but the insane makeout scenes was to much. Hybe america need to think about that these mv needs to be able to be shown in all asia. and many countries would ban this mv.

In JK Standing next to You, it’s in the title and lyrics that there is a partner who would be standing next to him. Think of it this way, why would they leave the “You” out of the video. Same with Tae’s new song, he’s talking to a friend saying we feel more than that, let’s be more than friends. What’s wrong with acting out the situation in the song? The implication is that the beyond friendship relationship is a sexual relationship, otherwise it would still be friendship. (He does say he would rather be in her bed.) If you’re just talking about Tae’s illustration of a relationship, by having an actress playing the role of a girlfriend, there is only the hint of sex because they are together. To address your concern, though, we have an old marketing slogan in the US: “Sex sells”. The role of the woman in some videos where she isn’t part of the plot, is so people will watch. The point of getting more people to watch is to make more money. For any confusion about the west or American products, the answer is often (always) money. Making money and portraying couples doesn’t bother the consumers of popular culture in the West. Good point about how it will show in Asia. Tae’s video is age rated to 15 years old. Hybe might have different versions of the videos for distribution in Asia. I hope Hybe is not just creating western style videos, but it would be great if the videos didn’t offend our Asian customers. Maybe I just said everything you already know.
