One of Akane's best and most original drum patterns without a doubt. The single Sense (with Hibana and Corallium) is a compositional marvel. By the way, Miku nails all those war cries perfectly in the live shows.
Akane's drumming is unbelievable, it is almost divine to hit a hi-hat choke on the off-beat of a 16th note at 180 BPM, and she has to synchronize the bass drum at the same time. She is full of charm on this song, syncopating the 16th beat notes and making groups of three 16th notes, as she is very good at polyrhythms. I also recommend "Screaming" and "Dilemma," both of which showcase her great groove.
Miku doing screams and adlibs since Conqueror has added so much. Well, maybe not "so much" since there's already so much going on in their music, but every time she goes off the intensity meter notches upward.
@@chrisbergsten1429You’re right there’s a little bit of it in Conqueror, but I would say Unseen World is where it really became common in their new music. It seems like a big chunk of the tracks has Super Saiyan Pigeon.

It seems like Akane is making up various kick drum patterns throughout a song. However, when you watch her performing the song live she replicates those same exact patterns. I have also been astonished sometimes seeing that what I think is a double pedal pattern turns out to be done by a single pedal. She uses a technique of tapping the pedal up high away from the hinge and then following it by tapping the same pedal down low near the hinge. I wish I could remember what songs I have seen that on to show you what I mean. Anyway, you are correct that Akane is an incredible drummer!
Hibana and hide-and-seek collate side-by-side alphabetically in my music collection, so I often ask for Hibana in my truck to hear them back-to-back. They make a great duo. There's a Kanami riff in the 2nd half of the first verse that I love so much, and she plays it one time. I've never heard a guitarist play so many great riffs under the vocals (many played just once). She has a truly unique style that I've loved from the very first song I heard from them.

I’m glad you recovered! “HIBANA” is my favorite song from the “Sense” EP. I always wonder about Akane, how is she able to come up with such innovative and appropriate drum patterns? It’s funny because I’ve referred to what Kanami is doing as “Bumblebeeing” as in Flight of the Bumblebee in a few songs, including a lot of this one. IDK if any of the other parts are note for note the same in any other song, but it reminds me of it all the same. You’re the only reactor I can think of to reference Flight of the Bumblebee, so kudos.😊

The band Hanabie, 花冷え (flower chill literally but it refers to cold spring weather) likes to teach their audiences how to pronounce their name. It ends in be-eh and not be.

Worth going back and doing Screaming as well - a real "runaway train on fire" kind of song, and probably the first time Kanami leaned into this kind of sharp, frenetic sound.
Miku can hold notes like a Hammond Organ. This song, Influencer and Why Why Why has those amazing extended notes. This song and the new one "Protect You" have this intense composition that just comes at you like standing beside a train.
Princess NittPicc, it's GREAT to see that you are better. Don't worry too much about your voice. It will get better. The chaotic pace of the song does remind you of an action "shooter" game. It makes you feel like you're running for your life. "Wait, I have to stop and catch my breath!!!!!" These Maids NEVER fail to impress with what they do.
This is a great song that i have listened to at least a billion times and as for Hide and Seek i love it and even now its only had about 41k views. Some of my favourite BAND-MAID songs are the less popular ones like Why Why Why. And i think its because it sounds more like their early stuff.

Hey, even if you don't react to it, you need to check out Vladimir's fancam recording of this one - I have seen them play this live, and there is NOTHING that can prepare you for the massive chills you get (the hair very literally stood on end on my arms!!) when Kobato lets out that ripping sustained scream! This will give you some idea of what I'm talking about. Listen to the crowd roar when the pigeon screams! And know this - the crowd is 1,000 times louder even than this when she does. The whole song is just on another level live and in person but just wowza! I'm getting emotional just typing this stuff. So - secondly, good work pointing out Akane's seemingly random patterns on this - she does this a lot and it really sets her apart. Wave Potter commented on it when he learned one of their songs. Okay, I'm not a gamer, but here are my go to Band Maid songs for working out. Thrill. Afterlife. Freedom. Chemical Reaction. Take Me Higher. Flying High - you should REALLY react to this, I think you'd love it. Forward. Dice. Choose me. Many times, when riding my exercise bike, I like to put on Zepp Tokyo 2018 part 3 from Band Maid Prime. It finishes with You, Freedom (killer intro, too), Real Existence and Choose Me. That is my favorite workout playlist. It's about 45 minutes long.
So good! Hide and Seek is my go to FPS/PVP song, then this one, and then why, why, why and don't let me down. Depends on the fight. But Hide and Seek is always numero uno.

Dear NittPicc, you learned in the documentary about Kanami that she liked to play with her brother's airsoft gun. But Miku also knows how to use guns. All the Maids are actually lethal weapons in this song. THANKS
My memory is spotty but I "THINK" this was a mobile game advertising song, where they were told they "HAD" to include the word "Gunshot" in the lyrics. I may be wrong, sine I can't find the file on my computer. It may have been on my deceased backup drive. If I am correct or incorrect, I know other's will chime in to let me know. So Maidiac's am I remembering correctly? Miku getting those high notes again. :) Ant Music made a fan made MV for this song which is hilarious. I don't think I've ever heard someone describe that as "Thrash-Punk". And Akane has some songs where her enhancements are perfection, and highlight her talent and skills. And I usually just have the entire Band-Maid Discography, interspersed with some RUSH, Styx, Boston, The Who, The Beatles, Brownsville Station, Budgie, Slade, and a few other bands for my knockaround music.
Have you heard Band Maid just dropped another song called PROTECT YOU? I feel like HIBANA is another song that delves into prog for lack of a better term. This and Corellium.

Thanks for the video. "HIBANA" loves the drums, guitar and pigeon screaming, but of course the bass and vocals are also great. I think it's a great example of how changing drum patterns can make a song feel glamorous. Their songs may be intended to make one of the members shine more strongly, and it's fun to listen to them while feeling "this is AKANE's song" or "this is MISA's song". By the way, there is a video of a live performance called "Band maid Spin off show" on the channel "bandmaid fan videos" that was held as part of the 10th anniversary. At 1:10:25 out of 1:42:10, we enter the song "HONKAI(本懐)" from MISA's cool solo. This is a song that makes MISA's drive shine brightly, so I recommend listening to it. There is an excellent live version recorded at Shibuya Eggman in 2022. It was made for members of the official fan club (as I am) before they left for their US tour. And as you know, live Band-Maid is best Band-Maid, and this one just goes to prove that statement.
Like many others, I recommend "Corallium" for the intelligent musician-reactor like yourself. If you listen to it without pausing, you'll get to know Kanami's madness😂

"Instrumental Maid" channel has a nice LIVE version from Shibuya Eggman Japan. Miku's four measure hold is a crowd hit. Every LIVE show fans go NUTS when she hits that note.....so fun to watch. One of my favorites... "Flight of the Bumble Bees"...YES .. but with less notes.

I have always thought this should be the next James Bond theme.
My memory is spotty but I "THINK" this was a mobile game advertising song, where they were told they "HAD" to include the word "Gunshot" in the lyrics. I may be wrong, sine I can't find the file on my computer. It may have been on my deceased backup drive. If I am correct or incorrect, I know other's will chime in to let me know. I don't think I've ever heard someone describe that as "Thrash-Punk". And Akane has some songs where her enhancements are perfection, and highlight her talent and skills.
And I usually just have the entire Band-Maid Discography, interspersed with some RUSH, Styx, Boston, The Who, The Beatles, Brownsville Station, Budgie, Slade, and a few other bands for my knockaround music.

"HIBANA" loves the drums, guitar and pigeon screaming, but of course the bass and vocals are also great.
I think it's a great example of how changing drum patterns can make a song feel glamorous.
Their songs may be intended to make one of the members shine more strongly,
and it's fun to listen to them while feeling "this is AKANE's song" or "this is MISA's song".
By the way,
there is a video of a live performance called "Band maid Spin off show" on the channel "bandmaid fan videos" that was held as part of the 10th anniversary.
At 1:10:25 out of 1:42:10, we enter the song "HONKAI(本懐)" from MISA's cool solo.
This is a song that makes MISA's drive shine brightly, so I recommend listening to it. This live is phenomenal from start to finish.

This song is for a game. But, I always play this song whenever I play in any games. It's suitable for any game.
There is an excellent live version recorded at Shibuya Eggman in 2022. It was made for members of the official fan club (as I am) before they left for their US tour. And as you know, live Band-Maid is best Band-Maid, and this one just goes to prove that statement.
Also played in LA.
It might sound like gaming music, but I also think it would work great as anime opening song.
Like many others, I recommend "Corallium" for the intelligent musician-reactor like yourself. If you listen to it without pausing, you'll get to know Kanami's madness😂
