B&W PV1 won awards so often that some mags stopped giving them to sub-woofers. I don't need it for stereo music (not set up for stereo sources), but it is the sixth channel in surround. My floor standing Meridian active speakers are 30-20k with the fronts 20-20k. BTW on repairs etc. The PV1 stopped working. I purchased it second hand. B&W sent me a box to pack it and a courier to take it away and fixed it for a reasonable fixed price. If repair was not possible they would sent me a fully refurbished one at no extra cost! *@isaacsykes3 So sorry that we missed your Super Chat question!* Your Question: "Do you plan on reviewing the Kaleidescape products based on your thoughts on streaming"Answer: No plans to review K-scape but I have had experience with them in the past. I had hoped by now they would have struck a deal with the studios to get more first run content on their platform however, they had to settle for just staying in business.

I appreciate your honesty. To be honest, I've noticed a few reviewers that definitely lean towards certain products. And that doesn't sit well with me. Because at that point ,is it a honest review? I have to give you kudos when you reviewed a certain AVR and the foot fell off it and it was basically not a finished product. That's the kind of honesty I'm looking for.
Would you considering review the new Apple Homepod 2? From my understanding these are a great alternative to soundbars and active speakers in a 2-channel setup with spatial audio.
A & K, Loved the stream and your integrity regarding reviews. Trust is earned and valuable and you’ve certainly earned mine. Regarding brands, are you planning any Magnepan or Golden Ear reviews? Should I reach out to these brands as I’m not seeing them on the channel? Thanks for all you do.
We have no current plans for those brands but wouldn't say no. As with any brand/product, it can't hurt to let brands know your wishes. Thanks for the support!!

Hello Mr. Robinson. I have a question about the Sony receivers. I'm planning of buying one. Presently I have a pioneer and it has on the remote a button naked "Dialog" it makes the center speaker sound really good. Does the Sony has something similar? Thx.
I got to say I got emotional when you read letter of man who lost his wife 😢. All I can say is try to enjoy life 🧬 because from one day to the next you never know if you'll be here or in what condition. That last part I can just look at myself. So in the past four years my back just broke, I was paralyzed from the waist down, massive immediate surgery learned to kinda walk again, but in pain and limited. Now within the last three weeks I started peeing pure blood. Cancer in one of my kidneys. Your channel and others helps me escape reality a little bit and I could enjoy those things. 😢
Don, I am so sorry to hear of your pain. Not that you wouldn't do the same, but if I could snap my fingers and fix the situation for you (and anyone else in pain) know that I would. I am honored to be a distraction and place of normalcy for you. I do not take the responsibility lightly and I thank you for choosing to spend some of your time with us! Be well sir!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Thank you it means a lot. I know I can't afford the things you review. At one time when I was was still healthy and working I could buy some but now and probably forever I can't. I still like hearing both your opinions on products though. Keep doing a great job guys. 👍
Comments about SVS were very interesting to me. I had a $3500 speaker system in my cart but am hesitant to reward a company that behaves in that manner. So, a few questions: 1. How important is it to have the surround and center speakers from the same brand and even the same line as the mains? 2. I listen at moderate levels. To avoid major construction and repainting, how much would I sacrifice if I powered surrounds with a series of bluetooth class D amps? 3. I was looking at Prime Pinnacles, the Ultra Center, and 2 sets of the Prime Satellites. Use is 33% movies, 33% music, 33% background noise. I live in a condo so I am hesitant to get a sub. If the mains image voice well enough, could forego a center? Running thru an RZ50. My room is 19x17 with the TV on the 17ft wall, and there are some open additional spaces. What do you recommend? I found you guys about 3 weeks ago. I have really enjoyed your content and format. Chad
The industry is too focused on “best” when what matters is good enough. There are so many good products that are fine, and “best” is in context of so many variables: room size, content preferences, etc.
Thank you for all your hard work, I really enjoy your reviews. I have brought Formation duos primarily based on you review and enjoying it everyday. I would like if you can can do more reviews of British style vintage speakers - Spendor and Harbeth. They look great to me and seems to have good options for living rooms and small room/ desktop hifi setups.
Since you guys livestream at 3am IST, figured I'd comment here. Looking for options, budget to point-of-diminishing-returns integrated amp options for Monitor Audio RX8s.
Went from Polk R600s to Q Acoustics concept 500. Scored a deal of 2499euros(just a bit more $) for new gloss white pair. Awesome speakers, like you said with careful pairing. Sounded horrible with NHT power 5 powerful icepower class d, sounds great with entry level emotiva basx A5 and Marantz SR7013. Amazingly built cabinet and very detailed full range playback. I still like crossing them over to my SVS PC13 Ultra from 40hz down.
Andrew, on the verge of a buying decision, thoughts on how you’d pair speakers to Amp: considering Monitor Audio Silver 100 or Bucharest A400 and either Naim Uniti Atom or Audiolab 9000
Sometimes it's easy to get complacent with regular business contacts...I have a good handful of regular customers that invite me out to dinner and other outings, and I have to decline in order to maintain the professional relationship...avoid the "getting to know you" part of a relationship dynamic despite the fact that they may be really cool people to hang out with...the situation with SVS is very disappointing...that level of arrogance will eventually ruin the company if they don't get a reality check...it's a very competitive market and they're not going to always be on top.
Missed it but was wondering if you will be reviewing the new Klipsch Sevens and or Nines? Love my Fives, especially after I upgraded the stock usb cable to an AQ Carbon and stock AC cable to AQ NRG-Y2 Power cable. The cables are aesthetically pleasing but I did in fact notice a performance boost. The overall sound was muddy and I was unable to utilize the Dolby Atmos on my Asus Zephyrus Laptop prior to the new cables as the sound became muddy and muffled. From what I’ve seen the Sevens/Nines are coming stock with premium braided cables w/thicker gauge. My setup (Newbie to HiFi): ASUS M16 utilizing Tidal > Dell D3100 USB Hub > AQ Carbon USB A-B > Klipsch The Fives w/AQ AC NRG-Y2 connected to Monster Power Vertex Surge Protector. I did not do the firmware update because from my understanding the Klipsch app does not save the EQ settings so with the Laptops Digital Dolby Atmos I have my settings set and have three saved presets to select from depending on genre if music I am listening to.
Oh I came across an old video of Andrew when he was a rep for Emotiva. Dude, your hair was awesome back then… bring it back! lol. Just playing… I rocked the mullet back in high school, so we all have our regrets.
I have the marantz sr 6015 av receiver and I have a emotiva basX 3. I watch TV and movies 12-15 hours every day. Is that putting too much wear or hurting my gear using way?
Hi Andrew, Love your channel. Kristi and you doing amazing work and always insightful and entertaining. Your good people :) I am one of those few people that's excited for the MR1 and though id share why or where some of us are coming from. I've long been running older equipment as i have a family and spending $4000 on good "flagship" receivers is too much so i end up with the 10 year old flagships running hdmi 1.3 etc. no atmos, no 4k switching etc My speaker layout is capable of 7.2.4 so id like the following if buying a new product- 7.2.4 processing, 4k60 video switching quality build big power from toroidal transformer or large e core 11 channels of amplification there are very few receivers out there that do this other than the Yamaha RX-A8A, marantz 8015, Denon x8500h etc. but those are all over $4000. so when Emotiva came out with all those core elements for $2000 it was like finally something new i can afford and meets my needs. Yes i realize its given up a few things like phono preamp, legacy connections etc but some of the big brands like Sony also seem to be going that way. anyway just thought id share.
Patrick, I sincerely appreciate you sharing your thoughts. First and foremost, if the MR-1 works for you, I think you should totally get it for your system. My concerns were more about the efforts being put forward by Emotiva and other reviewers to downplay that receiver's shortcomings by insisting nobody needs x, y, z. While I understand budgetary restrictions, investing in a product like the MR-1 that is already outdated in terms of tech, you may end up spending even more down the road should your personal situation/needs ever change. Just something to chew on, for about $100 more, this bit.ly/3HpEcIP would not only be comparable to the MR-1 but would likely be a smarter long term investment. It even comes with a better warranty... but ultimately go with what you feel works for you.
Just saying, ordered the Audiolab 9000a now 💪🏽 Thanks a lot, man! Will report on my thoughts later then. Thanks a lot Andrew and kristi for pointing me in that direction. I really like the bi-wiring capabilities of the Yamaha as 1200 and rotel - even though I never heard a setup in order to be able to compare that now, but I guess the audiolab will do fine without. In combo with the Bluesound node, which volume knob should be maxed out then? Node or audiolab?😊
1:41:59 so true. Cinema these days got a originality/quality problem. The last Hollywood movie I watched in cinema was “Bad Boys For Life”. That movie sucked so bad. During the movie me and friends look at each other like WTF. First two movies are great until they travel to Cuba. At that point everything goes down.
It’s real. It’s not just a sound bar. It is a full system. 4 subs. Rears. 3000 watts. 7 emt speakers. It is not even close. But I understand your point of view. That’s not just a sound bar.
The Dragon is "real" albeit in prototype form. How much better (or worse) it will be upon delivery to customers, whenever that is, is 100% up in the air --and that's not according to me, that's from Nakamichi and is what I meant when I referred to it not being "real". They let us know this via email on 1/29 that it wasn't a finished product.
So much great conversation in this live stream, I am sorry I was not able to catch it all and had to leave early. I absolutely agree about the video capabilities of the Emotiva MR1. I am shopping around this year to upgrade my set up, and it is always technology that drives my upgrade. I am awaiting the Anthem review, but the Sony ES has piqued my interest as well. All of my receiver choices and upgrades have been based on technology at the time. I also look at the room correction at the time, because it matters when your room in not the shape of a box. You are right about gamers and 4K 120Hz. I am that crowd. The latest generation of game consoles are what are driving my upgrade. Why would I pay all this money to not get the best out of my purchase. I get that with the MR1, I could just plug the console into the TV and use eARC for my sound.... I did the equivalent of that (HDMI, OPT) when I first went from component to HDMI, and from 1080 to 4K..... but I have learned in these experiences that long term, it is always more of a hassle than it is worth. We are now a few years into 4k120, not supporting it is a big miss. I love your "you do you" approach, I never feel like you and Kristi are trying to tell us that this product is the only product we should own, and that we are each in our own journey. Keep up the great work!
Regarding my highlighted comment below, what’s the best way to contact the manufacturer to get them to send you a product? Email or letter? Also, is there a resume, fact sheet, or web address I can send to them highlighting you and Kristi’s review channel. Thanks!
Thank you for your support! We have found that polite emails and/or DMs on social media have been what other viewers have used to get manufacturers to respond and/or reach out.

I know I missed the live chats, I always do. I'm a shift worker. Anywho,,are you guys going to review the NAD CS1 music streamer that's coming out in March? Keep up the great work.
Hey guys, I am considering MA Silver 100 7G and matching center (Silver C250) for my first “big boy” system. I have a Marantz NR1510 (5.2 ch) so for now would be running the MA’s in 3.1. Already have a sub. My AVR only has preamp outs for front L & R - would the Marantz be able to drive all 3 MA’s or would an Emotiva basx A2 external amp be a good pairing for the bookshelves and let the Marantz handle center duty? Would be in a medium to large room listening to (mostly) EDM and TV/movies no higher than 85 dB. Thanks! PS - Also considering R700’s… Lol PSS - sorry I missed the stream!
The 1510 in a 3.1 setup will work for the MA Silvers, though adding a BasX A2 (bit.ly/3uRu9o1 ) will help and will definitely be needed if you're looking to move to the R700s and keep the Marantz.
hi clicked on a link to this on another review you've done, you're a reviewer not a salesman, you have this channel to inform us enthusiasts with unbiased thoughts & comments about products warts & all, manufacturers chucking their toys out the pram just because they didn't get the outcome in the review they wanted is just petty & has done them no favours at all, how many of your subscribers will now have a negative attitude towards them, judging by the comments section it's a lot. both of you keep up the good work.

1. Your center speaker matching fronts is more important than the surrounds and will be more noticeable than going with mix-matched surrounds. If you can keep everything the same (ie in the same series), that's ideal, but if you have to mix and match to make sure all the speakers have relatively the same sensitivity rating (+ or - 3 dB) and same/similar impedance*. *this is especially important when using an AVR. 2. That I can't advise you on. Sorry. 3. Sorry I'm not advocating for SVS anything. That tweeter is hot and unforgiving and they can get boomy in the bass. That said - If you are looking for a speaker that will pair well with your RZ50 and that gives you good detail and dynamics at lower volumes, I would look here bit.ly/3wvqfnh and this center amzn.to/36LaT11. Another good option for a slightly mellower sound that may have the sensation of bit more bass weight - bit.ly/3iN17kS and matching center. If you are willing to splurge for the utmost clarity, these are great bit.ly/3DZRs6f with the matching center. Thanks so much for the support. I hope this helps out in some way!!

I could not source any Polk R700's, so I have a good dealer in CO ,whom has probably sent his kids to college off me,. SO, I bought a pair of Concept 50's from the dealer for a 2 week in home audito. They initially were on our backup SR6010 and it was AWFUL and I was getting ready to send some nasty grams.to you !(lulz ) I need an integrated that will open them up and allow the details in upper mids and lower highs to come to life. Which of these will make beautiful musical babies!: - Tehnic SU-GU700M2 - Hegel H390 (used) - Unison Research Unico Due Integrated Amplifier - Musical Fidelity M6SI500 An internal DAC is not a requirement as the Topping 90se has been an eye opener! I am looking at sticking to under the 4500 USD range.
Hi Michael, The Concept 50s are excellent speakers. While I'm not familiar with the SR6010 specifically, I am a little surprised that anything would make them sound "awful". As for the integrated amps, I would go in this order Technics, Musical Fidelity, Unison Research. I've never heard Hegel products so I won't speak about them. Lastly if you go with the Technics, your Topping DAC will be rendered useless. Best of luck and thank you so much for the super thanks!

Are you going to review the Arendal 1723 THX speakers in the near future? I'd like to hear your thoughts. Cheers!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Me: “What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like Kristy reviewing some Magnepans and GoldenEar products? A&K: “Not Good”. Me: “Not good like one in a hundred?” A&K: I’d say more like one in a million”. Me: So you’re telling me there’s a chance?” 😂 I’ll write. Thanks for the response!
Hello Mr.
So, a few questions:
The reason I'm asking you about the legacy speakers is that I own a pair of whispers and I'm looking for a power amp and I really like your reviews
I'm enjoying these livestreams at 1.25 speed.
I would like to see you make a video of all your audio rooms and any other places you have installed audio gear.
Any thoughts on Nakamishi Dragons new soundbar?
My setup (Newbie to HiFi):
ASUS M16 utilizing Tidal > Dell D3100 USB Hub > AQ Carbon USB A-B > Klipsch The Fives w/AQ AC NRG-Y2 connected to Monster Power Vertex Surge Protector.
I did not do the firmware update because from my understanding the Klipsch app does not save the EQ settings so with the Laptops Digital Dolby Atmos I have my settings set and have three saved presets to select from depending on genre if music I am listening to.
Hey hell yah 41:00 minute mark I see someone asked the same question basically and you answered! Dope, looking forward to it!
It's going good here in Holland, with you to?
What's your opion about the sony AZ5000 receiver vs Denon X3800H?
Hi Andrew, Love your channel. Kristi and you doing amazing work and always insightful and entertaining. Your good people :)
I am one of those few people that's excited for the MR1 and though id share why or where some of us are coming from. I've long been running older equipment as i have a family and spending $4000 on good "flagship" receivers is too much so i end up with the 10 year old flagships running hdmi 1.3 etc. no atmos, no 4k switching etc
My speaker layout is capable of 7.2.4 so id like the following if buying a new product-
7.2.4 processing,
4k60 video switching
quality build
big power from toroidal transformer or large e core
11 channels of amplification
there are very few receivers out there that do this other than the Yamaha RX-A8A, marantz 8015, Denon x8500h etc. but those are all over $4000. so when Emotiva came out with all those core elements for $2000 it was like finally something new i can afford and meets my needs.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Thanks, yep that new Sony 5000 looks pretty tempting also. 100% agree
@Andrew Robinson - any experience or thoughts on the Dali Oberon 9?
Thinking about a parasound JC5 Poweramp
Just saying, ordered the Audiolab 9000a now 💪🏽
Thanks a lot, man!
Set the Node to its fixed volume setting inside the app and you should be all good to go! Go either digital or analog out to the 9000A and enjoy!
Must see tv indeed. This should be prime time on the networks.
I would like to see more vintage coverages. One or two per year. I think that would be cool.
Thank you so much knowledge interesting I just got to make a move on it
Have you ever Reviewed legacy speakers
👆🏻I see those two big fans inside the new Sony ES series AVRs. Was fan noise on issue when testing the 7000ES ? (I am considering getting a 5000ES.)
Sorry to have missed the live show. 1st world problems. Now i can have a few pilsners and listen to this while i work on my neverending illustration. I will finish it one day! Im thinkin april

I know I missed the live chats, I always do. I'm a shift worker. Anywho,,are you guys going to review the NAD CS1 music streamer that's coming out in March?
Keep up the great work.
No, we don't have any plans to review that product.
Can you please review the Klipsch the Sevens or the Nines
Thanks!
PS - Also considering R700’s… Lol
PSS - sorry I missed the stream!
The 1510 in a 3.1 setup will work for the MA Silvers, though adding a BasX A2 (bit.ly/3uRu9o1 ) will help and will definitely be needed if you're looking to move to the R700s and keep the Marantz.
...and thank you kindly for the super thanks!

Audio Precision time eh..?
hi clicked on a link to this on another review you've done, you're a reviewer not a salesman, you have this channel to inform us enthusiasts with unbiased thoughts & comments about products warts & all, manufacturers chucking their toys out the pram just because they didn't get the outcome in the review they wanted is just petty & has done them no favours at all, how many of your subscribers will now have a negative attitude towards them, judging by the comments section it's a lot. both of you keep up the good work.

Andrew and Mrs Kristi, I would like yours (and kinda need ASAP so I potentially return,.
I could not source any Polk R700's, so I have a good dealer in CO ,whom has probably sent his kids to college off me,. SO, I bought a pair of Concept 50's from the dealer for a 2 week in home audito.
They initially were on our backup SR6010 and it was AWFUL and I was getting ready to send some nasty grams.to you !(lulz )
I need an integrated that will open them up and allow the details in upper mids and lower highs to come to life. Which of these will make beautiful musical babies!:
- Tehnic SU-GU700M2
- Hegel H390 (used)
- Unison Research Unico Due Integrated Amplifier
- Musical Fidelity M6SI500
An internal DAC is not a requirement as the Topping 90se has been an eye opener!
I am looking at sticking to under the 4500 USD range.
Hi Michael,
The Concept 50s are excellent speakers.
