Look behind you, look behind you and you see the pink Floyd album dark side of the moon, Alan Parsons was the award winning engineer of that and many other amazing albums.
He was the guy who produced Dark side of the moon!
Say nay more !
Assistant on "Abbey Road" too.
Engineered it
Parsons was an engineer on Dark Side and had some additional inclusions such as the clocks ringing during the intro of Time, but Roger Waters was the primary producer of the album along with the other Pink Floyd members.
He put together that loop of the cash register sounds at the beginning of Money too.
Make sure you do SIRUS/EYE IN THE SKY as one song. You will instantly recognize it.
The whole I Robot album was a masterpiece
The Alan Parsons Project was primarily known for concept albums, rarely singles. Well worth exploring. Thanks.
Sound engineer on Beatles Abbey Road.
Alan Parsons worked as a tape operator on Let It Be and Assistant Engineer on Abbey Road. He was the engineer on Dark Side Of The Moon.
Games People Play by Alan Parsons 🤩
DEF!
Yes,another great song😎
Love that one as well
100 years from now people will STILL be singing praise for Alan Parsons. Dude was a complete innovator and totally redefined what you could do in the studio.
Alan Parsons also produced Al Stewart -Year of the Cat
You two Gents brought out the big Deck to play today! Rock On!
The Top Shelf stuff!
Alan Parsons can do it all,, He was a huge help to the beginning of the group Ambrosia,, Even having several members play on his debut album.
Also produced Al Stewart's "Year of The Cat" album. You can his his mastery in Year of the Cat and On the Border - my two faves.
@@robjohnson5872 True..Also earning his first credit on The Beatles "Abbey Road" Album,, Dark Side Of The Moon,, Etc..Etc. & With so many things to list,, I just figured I'd throw in one that was less likely to get mentioned.
Alan Parsons ain't Dead. He's been on tour lately. Smh
"Time" Alan Parsons Project, this is a truly amazing song from him !
Hard to believe that was 1977…
Lenny Zakatek had such a great voice!
Great reaction brothers 😎
I haven't heard this song in years! It is really funky. Thanks La and Che!
With all the reactions you have done by him,,
I can't believe no one has suggested these 2 MUST HEARS,, Jimi Hendrix "Crosstown Traffic" & "The Wind Cries Mary" 🔥❤️🔥
After all the Jacks are in their boxes...
So hard to get through to you! We all know women like that...
Jimi tends to get blocked
This was a great choice!!!!
Dr Tarr and Professor Feather
The Raven
Games People Play
Time
Some of my favourites thx again great reactions.
I Robot is a phenomenal album. Well worth a full listen bros!
Sound engineer for the Beatles incredible Abbey road album as well as the masterpiece, Dark side of The Moon album by Pink Floyd.
Dude was talented af.
Honestly you guys should do the entire I ROBOT album, it's a masterpiece. So many great memories of this album, came out when I was in 8th grade, such a year of discovery.
"Tales of Mystery and Imagination" is by far their best album. Edgar Allen Poe revisited.
I’ve always loved this song. Just a great groove. Reminiscent of Steeley Dan to me
Oh, MAN - such a LOW KEY VIBE - LOVE THE MOOD of this SONG!!! ENJOY, FELLAS!!! HAPPY FRIYAY!!
"The Eagle Will Rise Again" a track off the 'Pyramid' album released back in 1978 by the A.P.P. has a smooth and pleasant flow. Besides, the message conveyed in the lyrics is inspiring.🦅🦅💫🎤🎵🎶🔉🎧
Yep, "Eagle" is a great track, with lead vocal delivered by Colin Blunstone of The Zombies.
Pyramid is my top choice in regards to APP albums. Composer/lyricist Eric Wolffson hit the high mark for this concept album.
They made this song at the height of disco in 1977 and actually made it acceptable to the “disco sucks” crowd like myself adding elements of soul, funk and rock to a disco beat! The Stones did the same thing with Miss You. And Pink Floyd with Run Like Hell, Grateful Dead with Shakedown Street, Steely Dan with Glamour Profession, Rod Stewart with a number of songs, including Do Ya Think I’m Sexy etc.
Also...The Who - Eminence Front
@@whome1299That is a great song. And one of my favs by the Who. But nowhere even close to disco.
@@midnightrambler7716 It's definitely disco-adjacent.
Well…it has musical notes and is a song…so I guess it has that in common. But other than that…nope. It hasn’t got any of the timing signatures or disco beat or anything else common to disco songs of the era. Try dancing to it. It’s a rock song.
Also the album it is on “It’s Hard” came out in 1982. Disco had been dead for about 3 years by then. Why on earth would any band like the Who put out a disco song in 1982? That would be career suicide. Although their 40 years or so of “farewell tours” started around then. So maybe you’re on to something! 😂
This album I Robot and Tales of Mystery and Imagination (a concept album dedicated to Edgar Allan Poe) are his 2 best IMO. Worthy of doing both full albums.
Love this song along with the lyrics. Great reaction guys, thank you! Also love your Hendrix tshirt☺
"Some Other Time" a track off the 'I Robot' album released back in 1977 by the A.P.P. is a musical masterpiece with the transitions in the arrangement and composition is worth checking out.🔍🎤🎸🎹🎷🥁🔊🔥☮
Excellent choice ! This was one of their early songs , My brother turned me on to this and I was just a kid and I'm 62 now ! Alan Parsons is amazing He's got talent on top of talent he's produced some Pink Floyd songs !
Tight, well played, funky with a rock edge, rather than the alternative and beautifully produced. A great song, great album and another wonderful advertisement for 70's rock. The decade that taste forgot my arse. The decade that ran with what the sixties discovered. More seventies chaps, it really is the motherload.
Guys, I found the I, Robot album, the one with the big octagonal robot head and people going up-and-down escalators around it, ike from the 70s. Alan Parsons project I, Robot. That album blew my mind as a freaking 12 yr old in 1979. The title is an instrumental with Herbie Hancock vibes. Parents were astounded by what I was listening to!!😊😊😂
Ooh yeah
This is an absolute banger
My favorite Alan parsons tune
Thanks, men. Some funky Alan Parsons...that guy could engineer..hard!
He was ok.
Sincerely
Dark Side of The Moon and Abbey Road.
😁
Love Alan Parsons Project! So glad you all did this one. There is not a bad APP album.
Always loved this song. And as others have said, Parsons has links to such albums as Dark Side of the Moon. Enough said.
OMG! I was hoping you would do this one, as it is totally awesome. Glad you enjoyed it. Check out some of their other stuff. The guitar riff remains one of the best of that era. Thanks!
Alan Parsons is alot like Steely Dan. He uses guest singers & musicians with a few regulars like his guitarist. The band Ambrosia was his back up band on occasion as well. Imo, his best album is Mysteries & Imagination.
I Robot is one of my favorite albums of all time.
Such a groovy way to tell someone " I can't stand you ". I can think of a couple people I'd like to play this for...😮 Nice choice!
My Fav song of Alan Parsons Project: Eye in the sky & Prime Time
And was engineer on Abbey Road! Also the nicest man in music, had the pleasure of spending some time with him. Absolute gentleman!
This is one of my go-to cd's when I just want to sit down, push play, and forget about reality for 30-40 minutes.
I remember clearly hearing APP the first time. I was in a record store in the 70's. In those days you could listen to songs off albums in the store, sort of try it before you buy it thing. The clerk recommended "The Raven" off of their "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" album (which I highly recommend an album review to). I was blown away and immediately bought the album, each song based off of a work by Edgar Allen Poe. Do your ears a favor and give it a listen boys. You'll thank me.
Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson, were the Project with other assorted musicians.
Great reaction guys!! The sound production of ALL of Alan Parsons Project's music is top notch - every album! You can tell he cut his teeth as a sound engineer (Abbey Road, Let It Be & Dark Side Of The Moon as three VERY notable credentials!)
This song indeed has such a funk groove to it.
HIGHLY recommend the 16+ minute suite: The Turn Of A Friendly Card - then you'll see how sonically beautiful and progressive The Project could get! Cheers!
Interesting that the TDSOTM album cover is displayed right above and behind the APP cover. This tune was off the “I Robot” album and most of the musicians were from the band Pilot. Alan was engineer on that Pink Floyd album.
He also produced Spinal Tap’s Shark Sandwich LP.
Another album that was playing in the record store under the sign just released. I went in to buy Going For The One by YES and came out with two brilliant albums ✨️🎶✨️
Nice reaction. This one has always been my favorite Alan Parsons. I forgot how good it sounds til I listened to it with y'all again. It's been a while, Thanks!
Alan Parsons is an engineer and he has guest singers. When they decided to name the band someone said Well, it's Alan Parsons Project so they decided to use that as their name
One of my favorite artists! Just got of a music cruise in the Bahamas with Alan Parsons (among 30 other bands). He and his band played twice and he did meet and greets and well as other things. He was even on my Plane home as we’re both west coast. GREAT SONG!!!!
Been watching you guys for a while. Not only do I enjoy the videos you react to, but I have a lot of respect for the both of you.If you gentlemen ever get a chance, check out the album Enlightened Rouge’s by the Allman Brothers Band. Songs like Crazy Love,Can’t take it with you,are just a few.You won’t be disappointed. This album came out in 1979. Hope you both enjoy it as much as I have all these years.Thank you for all that you do. Doug V. Charlotte,North Carolina.
Alan Parsons was producer and arranger on the Project albums, but he rarely played on the actual recordings. The music compisitions, lyrics and concepts came from his Project collaberator Eric Wolffson who composed most, if not all, of his works on a piano or keyboard. The days of real/analog only instrumentation and real analog tape. In the case of APP recordings done at Abbey Road Studios, London, England.
You want this song paired with IRobot, the first song on the album. Those two - together - are peak Alan Parsons.
Brings me back to the 70s #ROCKON.
Ohhh what a treat, for a FriYay amazing cut!!
I must say.....you guys are picking the JAMS......your in my wheel house.....I'm enjoying these reviews we're in line my brothas!!!! 👍 👌
a classic - great memories of hearing this the first time with my Dad! thanks
So much great Alan Parsons, but this song has SLAM! It's been a personal favorite for decades.
Speaking of unexpected FUNK,, David Bowie "Fame"..TRUST ME on this one my music lovin' brothers!! 🔥
I remember hearing this song on the radio all the time. I don't think I appreciated as much as I should have. That guy's voice has so much expression...I love it.
I replied to your question in the Lynyrd Skynyrd reaction
Another great reaction gentleman. This is a 70’s iconic song. Saw them live in 79 with Kansas. Great show it was phenomenal. Keep up the fantastic work…
I’m so glad that you played this track. It’s absolutely one of my favorites.
🕊❤️🎼
Parsons engineered Dark Side of the Moon.along with the Beatles at Apple Studios
One of my favorite underrated bands!! You guys have got to deep dive this rabbit hole. “Another Friday Surprise” thanks Guys!
Such a great song, the production is terrific. When I drop a dime on the volume control, it over pressurizes my house. Lol.
Oh man. I had totally forgotten about this song. It’s one of those that you would hear on the radio all the time but I didn’t realize how good it was until hearing it on headphones.
Love this song, it's funky. Thanks guys!! ❤😊
Glad y’all checking out Allen parson’s project. Real good stuff!
I swear this bass line, I heard in Michael Jackson's Thriller.
Bada da dum, I'm sure no correlation , but both bass lines are similar, and creative!
Alan Parsons was excellent in all he did. The album, I Robot is amazing, which this song is oart of. You may want to check it out, you will be amazed.
Great review guys. I love your analysis of the layers of sound/instruments brought into the song. The music of my youth!
Thank you for reacting to this song - you two are great!
I heard this song the first time I got a little " greenery " in my brain quite a great first experience.
Love Allan Parsons Project
" The System Of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether " - THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT ( this is another Rockin ' Song from their Previous album it's Heavy on the Drums Guitars and Bass also Vocal version

'I Robot' &. 'Eve' are incredible albums - very ambitious
Great start to the weekend! Excellent reaction, fellas 👏 😊❤. This is why we all ROCK WITH YOU
My man!!
When released,, This MUST HEAR soul classic song & story hit HARD,, Clarence Carter "Patches"
I love APP. I played a CD last week. Took me back in my life ❤
This is one of my two favorite albums by Alan Parsons, the other is Turn of a Friendly Card. You nailed it, their musicianship and production is flawless. Such a great sound. As others have mentioned, they created Concept Albums, which were intended to be listened to in one sitting. You just put the album on, sit back, and let them sonically take you to another plane. The mix, the sonic flow, from one song to the next, just enjoy it. And vinyl is the way to go! Thanks for the great music and the insightful dialog.
Would love to see you react to
I'm a man,❤by

The percussion is 🔥
I guarantee your body will move in ways you didn't think possible.❤❤❤❤
More parsons please !
He was an engineer on THE BEATLES 'ABBY ROAD'.
The Alan Parsons Project were fantastic in the 80s 70s
Greetings from the Great White North 🇨🇦 Does anyone else notice the irony of "Dark Side of the Moon " in the background? 😎
Always enjoyed the Alan Parsons Project. Also check out Games People Play and Eye in the Sky.
Top tier producer
I was digging this song the other day and thought La and Che should take a listen.
Love love love this one! Thank you both.😊
This was on our turntables alot
Isn’t he amazing?
Hell yes!!!!!!!
Have always loved this song!
Such a good song! Don't think I've heard a reaction on this one from anyone else but you guys!
The great Alan Parsons. The god of the mix.
Awesome⭐ Eye In The Sky, is another good song.🎸🎶
I Robot or Breakdown are two other top Alan Parsons Project tunes. Good Stuff.
