Growing Pains is undeniably a cultural touchstone for many in China. While it didn’t achieve particularly high ratings in the U.S., it became a massive hit in China during my childhood. I’ve probably watched the series on TV at least ten times. In fact, I still have an episode I recorded over a videotape that originally held footage of my cousin’s wedding-which I got beat up for it. The nostalgia this game brings is unmatched. For anyone born in the '80s or earlier, this is a must-buy.

Not to mention popularized the "nude" transformations scenes. There's still chance that Sailor Moon stuff is there, though it also might not since the main cast are canonically middle schoolers and they might want to avoid some annoyances.

Basically how it works is that, barcode acts like a hash code in programming indicating which channel, date, time (5 min apart), and duration (5 min per unit). Every VHS recorder that supports this will have a barcode binder. Inside it has all parameter barcodes printed. When setting up the scheduled recording, just use remote controller to scan corresponding barcodes to input parameters. Also, Panasonic stopped using "National" brand on VHS recorders around 1988, which happens to be the last Showa year (Showa 63rd, 1989 became Heisei 1st). Considering about the fictional year in this game, it is possible this brand changed as well in game 😎

I've always had an interest with Japanese Culture but never really took the time to really look into it, I always learned by just "In the moment" when something gets pointed out or explained onto something else. In a Recent announcement made by Neccom few days ago, That they are now at the last stage of the Game development as they need to patch up all the bugs and put everything into place, there will a beta test or demo release early next Year, the Game company explained That the difficulty of the Game is harder than Dynasty warrior But easier than Nier Automata. The Game play involving 3 aspsect, 1 is exploration to gather collectables which including retro toys, games That you can actually play; 2 is character development That you get to customize your character, level up and skill up through mini games which is related to the collectables; last is the story and side stories which is Very exotic and fun. According to the Game developer That those photos on the president's desk are related to the main plot. The Game developer also leaked That they are already making a sequel to this title and most of the faces you See in the Game are from the gaming developer team.

@57 its interesting to see that they made up a new interstate that goes across the US. there are highways 10 20 30 40 70 80 and 90, they skipped 50 and 60 cuz its to hard to make freeways tru the rocky moutians. this highway 50 seems to start off along the path of 80 from san francisco but takes a fictional path tru the rocky mountains to get to highway 70 and follows it to washington DC. it does not look like the path shown goes near chicago or mississipi but the path also doesnt go to texas but the game shows an encounter with the governor of texas so it seems possible to still visit places outside highway 50. it would be cool to have the option to take a central, southern or norther routes. kind of like start fox 64. i get total route 66 vibes from this which was a classic part of american history @7:02 VCRs have the RCA jacks for the DVD player, you had to turn on the vcr to play dvds for analog tvs like this @7:35 Facts, ive worked in SF @7:56 the LA dodgers must exist in this world too

Ah, Ichimatsu doll. The famous Okiku Ningyo, the doll that had growing hair. There's also a japanese ghost tv show back then that recording live reaction of comedians doing kimodameshi at the doll shrine or something and the camera captured the doll moving or so (prob faked for cheap reaction 😂)

Devs is also an anime fans, and this game doesn't only cover showa era but also 1990-2000 era japan including typical animes power ups
