- On Today's Episode of the RPM Web Series, we baseline a 2016 ATS-V to find out what it puts down stock. Then we install New Era's stage I package and get it back on the dyno for a tune. We knew it would pick up some good power, but didn't think that much!

We have a 16 ATS-V with 620whp. Tune, flex sensor, downpipes, intake, lpfp. E50 540whp on 93. The ATS-V is such a hidden gem 💎

For e50 mix can you just fill up the tank with like 60% e full e or do you have to still mix 50% e the rest 93?
what’s a flex sensor? why would you need one if ur not on e?

Holy hell! 135HP / 130TQ with those few mods and a tune is insane. I like that car now. Easily in the 11's now on a stock tire.

Most of that power bump was the extra 5 psi of boost
they increased the boost by 5 pounds also wasnt just the bolt ons
Looks like that car had all season tires on it. Mine went 12.08 on the stock Pilot SS and 11.96 with Pilot S4 rubber.
The numbers on The Caddy, holy shit i was not expecting that how can you not love the V series...
Test drove a blue ATS-V a few Saturdays ago and loved it. Came back to the dealer the Monday after and it was sold. 😢😂 I'll have one, just gonna wait a bit longer. They run very strong stock so I can't imagine tuned with a few mods.
They had 5 coupes for sale at a caddy dealer I just went to in Fl, blue, 2 white 1 black and a silver one
I will test drive one today. I hope the auto is as good as Matt Moran aka Subaru Wrx Fan says it is! Love the SS but the blind spot is murder. Just wish they'd put the 10spd in.

1. That ATS sounded better than I thought it would LOL... But the power gain is impressive, a set of turbos could make that a serious sleeper plus flex fuel

Whoever added that little slit design between the front grill & the hood should've gotten a raise! That one feature alone makes this car bad azz!!! Great tune guys keep it coming!!!💪👊

I5ZQ8 I like the sound of them stock, but not so much with a X-pipe. I'd have to invest in a nice cat back to clean it up a bit.
Pennywise Cat back is just going to add more rasp, x-pipe the only way to go.
That ats is pretty sweet even if it sounds like a tractor. Like the little tech tips and personal info. Breaks up the repetitive sos. Great job team.

the awesome things about this is thats you can do the same stuff to cadillac cts vsport as well. zzp intake ,downpipes and a trifecta tune ,and you are right there with the ats v's. these lf4s/lf3 motors are simply amazing turbo v6's. granted i have always been a v8 guy... but what the hell is wrong with a twin turbo v6, ford gt, jaguar xj220, nissan gt-r . these v6s are changing my perception of what a v6 can do. plus the added fuel mileage is a plus
No the cts v sport will get dusted by a atsv with same mods .. u lf3 guys always pump up y’all’s engine to make youse selfs feel better lol ... they may be the same size engine but have different internals and turbos... ats v can handle way more power and boost ... why y’all always coming into ats v videos to compare y’all’s shut to it ? Lol silly ass mf learn your cars

With the right set of downpipes it's exceptionally awesome. With the wrong ones, they sound awful.
Which downpipes are good or best for the V to make the exhaust note to be a little better
One of my favorite cars is the CTS-V Coupe. But I do like the looks of the ATS-V.

So last episode you said guess what car it going to be in fridays feature. I said "Its an ATS-V, and when I'm right send me a shirt?" So because I was right do I get a shirt? :D lol. Honestly bud I really want the liscense plate frame for my 5.3, regular cab, stepside, I'm entertaining budget turboing. I watch every episode start to finish, for quite a while now. Would be cool if Monday was a short feature like 5min of customer cars at the track, or like tech tips or something! Keep it up man
The ATSv reminds of a nicer, faster, more reliable, better fuel economy, more comfortable, nicer interior, more luxurious, better handling, more traction version of my old GTP.

Nice video. Those Cadillac ATS-V's are so nasty. They are a missed opportunity. Those engines make so much power with those simple mods. To go from 450hp to 600+hp at the crank is crazy. Could you imagine how much they would make on a full exhaust, cam, heads and manifold. Can't wait to see what the C7 Z06 puts down on the dyno.
phreak260 it's the same as the GTR when it first came out. They were at their peek and then AMS took them to another level with all the r&d they did. Which is why I said the aftermarket needs to do the same. If there is no aftermarket support. You can't push far beyond what's been done. Where have you seen what's the max these engines are capable of?
phreak260 true. The ATS-V flew under the radar and to make matters worse. It didn't seem like Cadillac was trying to take the glory away from the CTS-V. I'm glad the ATS-V is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Even though that recognition has been slow to the game. I'm pretty sure with the right aftermarket backing and parts. That engine is capable of mimicking the modded Nissan VR capabilities.
phreak260 Cadillac was playing BMW at their game and did a better job with both cars. Cadillac was considering putting the LT4 in it because an engineer did say they could fit it in the engine bay. I'm glad they pursued the twin turbo V6. Just to make a statement of we can do what you can do but we'll make it better. Which is what GM usually does when they go after a specific section of the market. Just like they did with the SS Cobalt in the fwd days of the 2000's.

I been noticing that you can free up a good bit of HP on any vehicle GM puts out with forced induction with just a tune. They tune them very conservatively out the factory,

Dude!, did you all see the bend in the exhaust right before the X piping??? It was bent in like crazy I bet it would make more power with a less bent piping.

Now that is what I need for my cts vsport. It has a similar thing turbo. Any chance you guys could come up with something for that car? Not many options out there for vsport owners.

I'm seriously considering this car! The SS has the horrible blind spot and these share the chassis and how easy this thing makes power with 2 bolt ons & a tune! Lord save a Blue one for me!

Sorry, but the Chevy SS is not on the Alpha platform, it shares the Zeta platform with the 5th-gen Camaro. Just because you could get magnetic-ride control on the second MY of the SS sedan does not mean they share the same chassis.

ATS-V is 600-650rwhp with fuel mods and on E with stock turbos all day. People need to quit sleeping on these.

ZZP makes some good downpipes for this. About 10 pounds lighter and same power. You really don't lose anything with a cat, maybe 1% at most. And it'll sound a lot better with a cat

What can I expect if I tune my 2016 V?
So this has alot of potential full bolt ons e85 and slicks this is basically 10sec car
I thought the ats v had 464 stock. Why did they only get 396 on the dyno?
464bhp from factory. That's measured using an engine "brake" with the engine out of the vehicle.
396whp is measured at the wheels, which factors in parasitic loss from drivetrain. There's typically a 10%-15% drop between the 2.
Has that ats-v been reliable after that upgrade? Or have had any problems. I'm planning to do a similar set up for mine
It's just downpipes intake and tune, so yes very reliable, she daily drives it and tracks it.

No we tuned it, custom dyno tune using HP tuners.
No one is wondering why that LS7 is putting down no power? Seriously a heads cam and intake LS3 puts down more power.

There’s literally no information on this car. How’s the reliability of the ats v coupe auto? It seems mod friendly but not sure about the car
They are awesome. Super reliable at this level. How ever this is about as far as you can go with just “normal” mods.

They sound awful when you do the catless downpipes ...so the aftermarket came up with this solution, for w/e reason removing the X pipe removes 90% of the horrible rasp with the catless downpipes.
Justin S got you! 👌👍 but still most v6’s are raspy 🤷♂️ probably a good set of resonators might eliminate some of the rasp
yea others have tried resonators with good success as well but it is kinda the nature of the beast with the V6s. A few companies have full exhaust systems that sound very good but of course, 1500-2500 dollars.

Why would they divorce the exhaust like that, there is never any power or sound improvement in doing so.
Weapon X has the best sounding exhaust for this car, period. Auto owner didn't do his homework. It's not that bad though through the rev range.
The caddy now sounds all RICE, the X pipe is the only way to fly... My son has a V6 Rustang with a flowjoe X pipe it sounds bithin...
