- This is a guide for Templar speed leveling, made in preparation for the 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur league which brings a lot of changes to the way that Templar is now best leveled.

Quick correction to the video - while global attack speed and movement speed modifiers will apply to the speed of shield charge, the local attack speed modifiers on the weapon do not change the speed of shield charge as someone in the comments pointed out, so you don't need to worry about the attack speed on the weapon. Sorry for the confusion ^ ^
Just did a small practice with it, it's EXTREMELY clean, amazing guide!
It's my usual speed spike of Act 3 Siosa except from A1 Hailrake! (once the league patch roll around to lower Shield Charge req level to 4)
(I did ragequit my practice mid Act 2 from the constant disconnect on zone loading. Going back into the zone to click the same zone transition again seems like a new disconnect everytime. Ctrl+Click to re-create the zone you already cleared to create a new instance seems to give you a fresh attempt to load into the next zone once you reach it. But it's not a garantee the loading will actually suceed.)

if youn dont like shield charge you can always use a weapons swap leap slam with fast one handers, you may also take the minion attack speed node

I believe that shield charge is not based on the weapon (wand) attack speed. :)
Hasn't been for a long time. Any local mod on the weapon doesn't work.

hi, I'm new to the game and wanted to ask if by chance you know any resources I could use to look for specific templar builds for things that interest me? any website that have filters on them or something? I don't want to make major mistakes into any build it make it useless later in the game. thanks.
if i want to do mapping first can i use more or less everything on the endgame setup and just use Inpulsa's Broken Heart Penance instead of Brand of Dissipation? Also one is an item and the other is a skill, cant i use both?

I literally just had a huge rant in discord to my friend about this. "motherfucker is talking at 3.5 words per second, cramming keywords in, and expecting me to be able to follow along."
"Says 'in act 3take flammability as a quest reward after defeating piety in crematorium and buy anger'" in 5 seconds as if A. I don't know piety gives a quest reward or is in crematorium, or B. if I actually didn't would be able to figure out what he was saying at this rapid fire "FUCK YOUR FACE HERE IS INFORMATION" style of rambling.
Its like he wants to have 2 audiences. The ones who already know the game well enough, so can follow along at 3.5 words per second about shit....so he can talk fast. And the people who need him to explain everything, so he talks about piety quest reward and piety being in crematorium, so he adds every bit of information into everything he says.
So he fails us all, because the people who don't understand will be left behind in his shitstorm of word vomit, and those that can understand are like "....dude, you used 20 words to give me 5 words of knowledge".
Hi thank you for this! I am thinking of going into ball lightning, would you still recommend this guide? Or better to go for one that is geared towards BL/Frostbolt etc?
I would still recommend leveling like this and then respeccing with gold at around lvl 70. You can slightly modify the tree to be a bit closer to your end game build as well.

I would recommand Mjölner Ball lightning build by ConnerVerse, use Asmodeus' for leveling and early mapping then swap over once you have some currency to get it online.

I'm swapping from Arma Brand to PBoD and I'm confused by the choice of Lori's Lantern. I'm not seeing anything in the PoB indicating we are on low life. What am I missing? Are we only using it for the resists and light radius?

How good a mapper will PBoD be in 3.25?
I've updated the PoB with a version that should do fine for mapping, but this is not really a mapping character. It's gonna do fine, but it's not specialized for it.

Testing this right now. POB shows Armageddon Brand stays level 1, is that intended? Damage drops off pretty drastically at around level 42.
Of course not, just level your gems normally.
what is the point of momentum? i tried it and you always sustain 1 charge? wouldnt faster attacks make more sence?
You get the movement speed bonus from momentum for your shield charge and faster attacks would require progressing further with ranger and you'd likely not even have the sockets for both that early.

Started playing a few days ago following this. Pretty brainless. Mobs all insta die Once you get to act 4 the bosses just fall over.

Is not worth to go for the minion attack speed cluster;?
I think it's still a viable approach, especially if you find a very good weapon and have exceptional damage, but otherwise the damage suffers a bit too much and it ends up delaying other things that speed you up as well. I tested it out and it delays your second aura and regen nodes for blood rage too much. The minion damage nodes in the Spiritual Aid cluster are less efficient per point than the alternatives (not by much but still by enough to cut them), and the Spiritual Command nodes don't give you anything other than attack speed and typically wouldn't be worth without the minion attack speed passives from the other wheel as well. It also doesn't give you good breakpoints for damage because you end up picking up damage increases after important fights (like dominus), rather than before them, so the damage is not just worse but also delayed.

If you mule a Ranger and have a good loot filter with sound notifications for usable 3-links and use regex while searching the vendors, you're gonna get it most of the time.
