I love how Akechi’s third awakening isn’t only an awakening, it’s a persona fusion of two separate personas, a characteristic of a wildcard. And this fusion/ awakening only happens under specific conditions, mainly Joker giving Akechi the respect of his rival (even during his “death”), and keeping his wishes. Basically, Joker keeping his word allows Akechi to access what he couldn’t before, his wild card ability. Which makes Akechi’s death so much worse: Joker keeping his word is what results in his death, yet it is what gives Akechi his final peace and allows him to finally take control in his life. At this point, I don’t care if they’re in love, Joker’s acceptance of who Akechi wants to be is the most important part of their relationship, it literally helps him grow as a person and finish his final wish. Also, kudos to you Moldy for the art!
Ironically, it's all of what you said that makes me ship them. For me, a ship of any kind needs to 1. have the 2 (or more) members as individuals (so don't lose their identity to the relationship) and 2. need to help one another grow. If it don't got that, I don't want it.
