We Broke Our 4WD Power Wheels Go Kart on the FIRST JUMP! Road Test, Fuel Tank, Floor Mounted!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- We change the final drive gear on our Tillotson 228cc powered four wheel drive power wheels go kart, and take it for a spin! The gearing is still too tall, but it’s already performing much better. Ike takes the power wheels go kart off a jump, and soon after the front suspension falls apart because we hadn’t used proper locking nuts during assembly. We bolt the front suspension back together with the proper hardware, build floor pans, build a fuel tank and seat, and take it for another spin. We still need a gas and brake pedal, and a slightly shorter gear, but so far this little ford bronco go kart rips and the suspension feels great!
Thanks for Watching!

THANK YOU to all of our viewers and supporters in 2020! It's been an interesting year. Corona hit, we hunkered down. We moved into a new space, built two very challenging custom projects, and made three special episodes (with more in the works). Looking forward to a more SOCIAL 2021! Happy new year!
Can't wait for mini mayhem
👍
You guys should add a push bar and a wench to it so it doesnt plow steer anymore
Merry Christmas and a happy new year john and ike love your vids hope more to come👍👍🤟
it needs a good 4" added to the length in the cockpit.
And to think, this was the project that you were going to take to Idaho...
Lmao!!!
What if y’all had made a jerry can looking fuel cell on the rear of it
That'd look great!
I have power wheels with a lawnmower frame under it and I had a one gallon Jerry can that I had the back cut out of to store my battery in
it would be awesome if the did that.
but they made a modified jerry can. . like cut one up, and make a miniature can, to match the truck :)

oh wow , i didnt get to 19:21 before i commented. their tank design is actually pretty cool
peace, TheEturn
Or a circular one that looks like a spare wheel
Actually really good idea, kinda fit the theme 🤔
That thing is so cool. Best thing you've made since the radio flyer.
The Radio Flyer was bitchin! And Ike was too big for that one too! And the Cozy Coupe. And the Little Rascal. And others. I bet he sometimes wishes he was 5'6"! 😂
Happy new year guys! Im looking forward to next years adventures. :)
Hell no..this is way down the list.
@@360nastybusiness agreed
Really cool how you guys take a whole other route to make a power wheel! My dream is to collab with cars and cameras on a dirtbike project!
Maybe swap a 212 into a legit dirt bike frame? That would be rad as heck

This project needs about a one-foot extension. I love the look though!
It's fun to watch these projects evolve and get dialed in. Somewhere there's a talented 12 year old who could comfortably put it through its paces.
My gosh! There is a lot of technology in this thing for a simple little go cart. It’s got NASA level gantry crane bracing, Indy 500 simulated sprockets, heavy construction chains and gearing. All without any cad cam drawings or even so much is a scribble on the back of a tavern napkin. Incredible job
The one thing I wish, is that your builds start off with somewhere comfortable for your legs then start to design around that. I do love this channel , one of my top 5.
This has been my favorite build so far. Can't wait to see it completed.
Thanks for making 2020 more bearable! Hope you guys had a merry Christmas and hope you have a fun and safe new years! May 2021 be the year of the worktable for c&cr!
Just a little tip for the next time you guys make a sealed container. If you drill an air/pilot hole before you seal of the last few areas with weld material you won't get as many leaks in those welds. If you don't do that, it essentially does what it did when Ike was trying to weld with it pressurized but not so drastic. This is just something that I learned when I was doing a pressure box in my welding class at school. Thanks for all of the great stuff you guys do! It has inspired me more that you might think.
You could throw together a best of crashes compilation.
That would 90% John crashes.
THE LITTLE BRONCO IS BADASS...AWSOME BUILD.....SO SICK
I received my merch today!!! Thank you Ike and John for the sticker with yall signing it. Made the gift that much better 💯💯💯
Once this thing is ready to go completely it will be a riot! I am looking forward to seeing it put to the test. The 4wd setup is brilliant btw. Great stuff guys
I thought I missed an episode when I saw the title of the video. At least it happened near the shop, and not in the woods at dusk. Great work as always guys!
It’s gonna be epic! I was skeptical at first because how short the chassis is,but it looks like it’s going to be a ripper! Great job fellas 👍🏻
When I first started welding and fabrication I was not allowed to do a single thing until I had a good blueprint anyone could use to build the same thing and understand it. As much as it sucks and consumes time I suggest it! Better blueprints better builds! Either way I love what y’all do I just feel like y’all could be that much better!
This is a beast of a project keep up the great work love the work yous do. all the best in the new year 2021
"That'll do donkey" cracked me up 🤣
I got a 212 predator for my mini bike today because of you guys
Got a welder for Christmas! Now I’m ready to start some projects of my own. Thanks for all the inspiration from your builds. Hopefully y’all can get a mini-mayhem together in 2021.
Dam Ike!!! This channel has been missing something and I think it’s been the beard!!! Keep up the good work boys!!
I love these longer episodes. Keep em coming!!
old chevy C10, and Ford F1-F100 fuel tank is mounted inside of the cab behind the seat, and Willys MJ and CJ1 and Jeep CJ5's, the fuel tank is under the drivers seat, sweet build, and i cant wait to see this thing completed and hopefully y'all can do a collab with grind hard plumbing and rather b welding again
“There’s good fortune coming to you or something” little did he know
It was the or something
Sway bar! You guys should make one so I can copy, I’ve had heaps of comments saying I need a sway bar haha
Seeing ike crawling with the bronco in the kubota looked super sad almost like yall needed to play taps in the background great build guys
That tank is way tougher than any motorcycle tank. Good looking build y’all!
Not my titanium fuel tank that came factory on my crf450r. Stronger and lighter. What a bold statement you made there. Noob
Happy new year boys, thanks for the hundreds of hours of hard work you both put into this, great Job!
You have to put a 3 speed transmission on that thing it would be so nice. Great video guys i love it
@Jeremy Stephens oh yeah right
That would awesome
even though its way too soft it is cool to watch all your suspension work in action
Heck ya that little cart rips guys that’s so cool
If you guys want even more torque, they sell higher tension (yellow) springs for the driven pulley on the 30 series. I just put one on mine and the difference is very noticeable. It keeps the torque converter locked in a lower gear ratio longer.
the noise towards the end is the bottom of the spring hitting the frame, the tank and seat look awesome i think itll work real good
I have never seen you guys make such a plush, cushy suspension before. That thing was built for high speed stretches. It's like a MINI Trophy Truck lol.
Great job guys. You all have come a long ways since the beginning and it is so great to see you guys grow. Happy new early.
If you look up a go kart top speed calculator, you can input your sprockets, tire size, and engine RPM, and get a very good estimate on your top speed without the guesswork. Tork-a-Verters generally achieve a drive ratio of 1.0 to 0.83 overdrive, so you can expect up to a 20% increase in top speed over what's calculated.
The ol "hold the gas tank in your lap" test drive. Good times.
When I built my first motorized bicycle I got totally soaked with gas on my first test drive. The tank was between my legs and right on top of the engine. It got pressurized from heat build up or something and it was spraying gas everywhere. I probably should've walked it home but I was too stupid and just loosened the cap and kept on riding.
That was the most proper fabrication from IKE I've seen to date
You guys have put together a lot of entertainment and laughs this year . When we needed a break from all the stupid stuff that's been going on . We also learned some ways to fix problems one might run into while trying to build something from scratch . I hope you both had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year .
Holly Hell that Chassis is Fighting it self. Watch the footage.....I see a lot of stress on that Driveline.
Full time 4wd with no diffs, the chain goes through a lot of tensioners, and the tires are slightly different heights. But, it works enough to be fun.

Drilled a hole in the tank and sealed it up without cleaning the metal out nice Haha
I think the sign the vulpine visitor was giving was y'all done foxed up with them nuts... :P
The power wheels looked awesome coming around the corner before the jump.
You guys ever gonna use that aquarium thats always in the background? I think a couple dozen glow fish would look good. Lol. But this is an awesome build. You guys have motivated me to build some of my own projects and continue to amaze me with the ingenuity you come up with, especially when its on the spot. Keep up the hard work. Cant wait to see the final product. And the new shop.
There ya go. Got right front geometry is what thats called. Fabricate. Nice table. Makes it too easy. Used to oxy/acetalyne
This was a great episode. It's shaping up awesome.
How are you going to put fuel in the tank....
Looks like what I wanted to do can wait! You guys motivate my channel!
I'm loving the progression of this thing! One thing I want to mention, and I hate to say this because it's gonna be a lot of work, but I really feel like you guys should extend it a little bit. It's just sooo short. Plus that would really help Ike out.
That thing is so sweet. Gear it way down and leave the suspension how it is, it will be awesome for actual crawling type stuff I bet. I wanna see some boulder field action and stuff that flexes the cool suspension 👍
It’s been a LONG time since I watched one of your vids. I’m extremely happy to see that Isaac found himself a new barber. Phew. 🤣
where ya been all this time?
@@eligonzalez666 hiding from 2020 😱
You all might want to consider under drive gearing on the rear I would start with aprox 4% this will create an over drive on the front and help with a tighter steering radius.
This, or let air out of the front tires, and add air to rears.
Yes that will help a lot with steering
Brakes are just the luxury option. No brakes just make the ride more fun.
You could put foot pegs behind the front tires and integrate fenders. That would probably make it much easier to control center of gravity, and Ike would fit better
15:07 "Permanently repaired" - good one.
Sure, John fits in it, just don’t let him drive it!
23:50 Ike does his impression of When Harry Met Sally the automotive years.
Use cotter pins and castle nuts on all suspension parts. Overdrive the front axle to help with steering
No worries about sitting on the fuel tank. Most motorcycles have the tank right in front of you or under the seat. I'm literally laying on my fuel tank hugging it on a crotch rocket. It's definitely safer sitting on the fuel than holding it loose under your arm.
Can’t wait to see y’all hit 1M subs in 2021!! Also REALLY hoping Pate 2021 works out!
You guys need to get yourselves a TIG. It would have done a superb job of that fuel tank, and holes are much easier to fix neatly.
Out of alignment , must be a ford thing 😂🤣

Looking real good. Once you stiffen up the suspension at bit, it should ride real good. You should use some seam sealer on the fuel tank to double down on the leak prevention.
The front wheels looks a bit thin compared to the back. A thicker tyre might help with front grip, but cocking the front during middle corner looks fun 🤩. Great content as always guys
Coming in from East Texas, I've been watching y'all since day one. Love it !!!
Okay was it just me or did anyone else here in there head when he said we got the bung welded up I heard Beavis and Butthead lol 😅😂🤣
Here’s my advice to help you have a happy and prosperous new year: if you find leaks in the gas tank (which is awesome, btw) after you’ve put gas in it, don’t touch up the welds! LOL
Pour a liner in it.
When that suspension went it looked like it had real potential to be a mean looking low rider 😂
Good job boys, cut up a cheap yoga mat and use it for some cushion on that tank. Will give Isaak his 1/4 inch back.
Another brilliant videos guys keep them coming !!!! 💯
Not long enough, to tall and you need an engine with gears.
I have a challenge for you John and Ike, do a power wheels corvette drift build. You'll have fun with it.
Great build guys but ready to see the cross kart AND the trophy kart back in action...HINT HINT HINT....Have a great holiday guys see you in the new year
imagine both of them running at the same time and place. 😏😏😏
@@eligonzalez666 a heads up race would be awesome ONCE THEY CUT DOWN THOSE TREES hahahaha. Which would you take, the Trophy kart of Cross kart? I'm gonna go with John, in the cross kart with taller tires
@@KWhite75 i think i would choose ike in the trophy truck, he seems less likely to wreck either of them.
@@eligonzalez666 John has the height and weight advantage over Ike. Cross kart with taller tires might be hard to beat plus they hinted of a larger engine possibly.
@@KWhite75 okay good point, and the cross kart is one of my favorite projects so far. i think they would both be pretty good contestants for first place on the leader board
She cruises guys that's the main thing. Maybe castle nut/cotter pin setup?
looks like it rides like a cloud! well done boys
That gas tank is nice, serves two purposes. But the rear shocks is way off normal setup. They need to be almost straight up, to work best, not like horizontal!!!!! Mount them outside of the tank, straight down to the hub. just like the front ones, and you have several problems solved, trust me.
Else, it is pretty damn cool!!!
Glad you went for the disk brake, those drum brakes on the clutch are for kid-bikes only.
I got my shirt in the mail today I'm totally stoked
That's a random thing to bring up.
@@nybergsgarage I was excited I just got my shirt in the mail today and I got to watch the new video. I enjoy watching these guys. I enjoy doing the same stuff. I look forward to their videos on mon and wednesdays
@@robbiebrewer2721 i was trying to be funny. You see, you didn't mention the shirt was a cars and cameras shirt, so without context your statement could seem odd.
@@nybergsgarage oyea man it was a cars and cameras tshirt and they threw in a sticker ..
Just some technical observations IMHO>
I'd say that fuel tank is going to need a sump for the pickup, or it will be continuously sucking air, even with the baffles.
No sway bar needed or it will impede the articulation far too much.
Major problem with the rear coilover angle, they need to be somewhat more upright.
Otherwise I love the concept :-)
on fuel tanks i like doing a downhill weld. run it hot on follow the weld. Ive never had an issue doing that. plus theres no grinding since your welds will looks pretty good
I would still reccomend stretching the frame for easier steering and better fit for Ike. Please think about it. Now it would be much easier than later in the future when the body work is done.
This kart is awesome guys.
There are plenty of free gear ratio calculator apps out there. Forget all of the guess work and take advantage of those Phone apps.
Johns hair is awesome. Lol I'm in the wild hair club too buddy.
Boom just waked in and this popped up time to chill.....
I love this build. The angle of the rear shocks is too acute to the swing arm. Making it 45° to the swingarm would significantly increase the tension.
Hope you guys had a great Christmas, see you guys in 2021,great episode 👍👍
Couple of things - first of all, not a great idea to carry anything, even an empty bucket, that high with such a small tractor. it's a great way to test the integrity of your ROPS. Which thankfully you had up. Second of all, that little Bronco cart is WICKED awesome! I think it would benefit from a good locking diff, but you already know that :)
i dont know how but you going to have to do something with the rear shocks they are just to soft. but its looking great
John and Ike love the videos I have been a fan ever sense the first video till now .. I’m gonna try to come and see y’all at the tour new place or something like that
that thing is sweeet , I love it...Rock onnn guys
RJ
Imo I think your rear top shock mounts are in the wrong place and should be moved farther back about where the frame bends horizontally or in the middle of the bend give you stiffer rear end and more suspension travel. That's why it sags so much in the rear. Love the build guys keep it up!
You guys need to spend way more time on design I’d make the builds so much smoother and easier to fix also
I don't see you building anything
But that's the spirit of their channel.. it's all about just working with what you got and having fun building shit, that's how it started, they wouldn't say "it'll be fine" if everything was planned out
These fellas ain't engineers, they just make it up as they go, and learn what works and what "don't".
I'm sure they spend a little more time than we realize we're just not seeing it due to the lenght I their videos. I always say I wish they would make just a little bit longer videos, but I understand the time it takes to due that.
@@shanerathburn9734 I actually prefer them around 25 minutes or less, since I have A.D.D., lol. I can't stay interested any longer than that. I had the same problem at my job! All 45 of 'em!🤣
