We swapped our turbocharged, fuel injected Predator 420cc engine onto our limousine go kart! Our 10 foot long 3 seater go kart was decent with a 6.5hp Predator 212, but we knew it needed more power, so instead of swapping a Tillotson 225, we went for big block, forced induction power! This engine setup was on our drift trike build, but we decided the limo kart needs big power in a small package to get three people around the CarsandCameras Grand Prix in a hurry!

@@CarsandCameras put a strap front and rear from cart too lift ,, not fun if that machine thinks it can fly off the hoist .. plus it might hurt laying on the ground with a go kart spinning tires on your face .. I put a strap on a cart when I first started it found out the carb was stuck ,,that chain stopped the cart from going up the driveway across the street and threw a 2 feet ditch .into the woods ..I can't run and catch a run away cart .
To see three grown men live a life like this warms my heart! And serious consider the choises i made myself.. You are living a dream boys! Please do go on for many years, you are obligated for all of us thats living thru your fabulous channel..

I start laughing every time you bring the limo out because you guys have such fun with it. With some tuning on the turbo, charge pipe, intercooler etc it's going be even crazier.

It kind of now requires mudguards, on the rear wheels, to protect Charles' coat.

On both passes Ike made alone, the river crossing damn near broke my Lazy-Boy...so I closed my eyes for the three person attempt. Carnage for the limo ... but my Lazy-Boy came out unscathed with my eyes closed.

They actually did run a vehicle on his property with a turbo. Ike’s Mercedes 300D was a turbo diesel and they drove it around part of the course.

Love it , glad too see the boosted 420 back. Make sure to add an air Capacitor to the cold side, should help keep the boost pressure steady.

Great episode!!! Yes definitely upgrade the charge pipes/exhaust etc. and skip the intercooler if the fuel system can tolerate E85.

lets be honest so many channels doing the same stuff but CandC are the OGs and still manage to pull something out of the bag nobody has seen b4 well-done boys, I'm subbed to all the rebuilding and fabricating channels you are the only ones i cant wait for the new upload and I binge watch the whole channel twice a year at least
GHPC also does some unusual builds, and Ethan is a master fabricator he doesn't need a plasma table. I'm not saying that Cars and Cameras needs to have one they are quite lucky to have it. but for most people doing builds Ethan show's. that people without a lot of high $ specialty tools can still build theses projects. and that he also thinks outside the box.

There is a lot that can be done to the engine to improve its performance. Without adding anymore fuel or anything internal. Would love to see some forced induction or nitrous on the drag rail if that ever gets going again.

I'd like both, internals and bolt ons
I'm not a huge fan of forced induction, because it has been proven to shorten engine life. but it's okay on racing engines because a person can plan on doing rebuilds more often. but for non racing engines it's better to go with large volume natural asparation. especially at lower altitudes where atmospheric pressure is higher.

If you add an expansion chamber between the turbo and the engine the turbo will make boost. it's the one thing about using a turbo on a single cylinder anything it will not make boost because the single cylinder can't produce enough back pressure with enough constant force to drive the impeller. but with an expansion chamber it can build pressure in the expansion chamber and it will drive the impeller . it will only make 5 to 10 lbs of pressure but that's more then enough for a briggs and you can add a gauge to the system to see it working . it's needs to be a bit smaller then a 2 cycle expansion pipe to work but work it will and it will work on any 1 cylinder engine 2 or 4 cycle.

Yall should upgrade all the externals, like exhaust, intercooler, intake piping, and add a boost canister to smooth out boost pressure and maintain it. Then you should test it, and then fully build the internals and high compression with maybe e85 or water meth injection to keep it cool and try and build more boost and faster
Over the bridge in the woods you really need to widen up that trail there is too many trees which I know you already know especially for three people...... jonjon....

that would make a great event at the next grand prix open house "Team" go kart riding anyone that wants to enter has to build their own 3-seater go kart and you could have a race of like 30 laps and ever 10 laps you would have to pit and change seating positions.

I built a gokart that does 50 mph ,it has 125cc atv motor I re sprockted it and a few other mods, it's almost all custom and leopard print lol

Talk about some serious POV action John was almost dying of a laughing attack and poor Charles is not having the most fun back there being beaten to death by the lack of suspension. John had the best seat in the house for rideable I'd like to imagine, having all that tubing just flexing and giving under his butt!
